During the training, you will be staying at the Banyan Tree Yoga retreat center. Tucked away in a peaceful and idyllic setting of coconut and cashew trees, surrounded by flower gardens and organic veggie patches, this place is truly magical and simply full of raw beauty.

Annu and Chinu, the kindest, sweet, funny, and joyful souls, have crafted this eco-village with their own hands with a unique vision of sustainability and harmony with nature. They will not only welcome you and attend to all of your needs, but also make you feel like being part of a big family.

The spacious eco-huts are made from local sustainable materials like grass, clay, bamboo, and wood which bring a beautiful light into the living space. Each hut has its own private veranda, double bed, and bamboo rack to hang clothes. The ensuite eco-friendly bathrooms consist of a composting toilet and shower under the sky.

Daily room service is provided and linen is changed twice a week. Massimo will be your in-house masseur and is available during break times and evenings for individualized massage treatments.


During this full immersion yoga teacher training, you will have the opportunity to be free of daily distractions and responsibilities and be completely available to dedicate your full time to the practice of yoga and integrate all its benefits.

Instead of learning to teach one particular style or sequence, you will learn how to apply underlying root principles that work with any form of yoga. You will be building a solid base of knowledge from which you can then freely investigate creatively the ever changing face of yoga in a modern world.


To be accepted on the training, you need to have a regular yoga practice since at least two years, to ensure that you are ready for the program that will take your yoga to the next level. To train for so many hours a day can be, at times, a process that is physically, emotionally, and mentally intense and you need to be well prepared for this inner journey to take place. If you are ready for that, you can take with you a life changing experience that will help you make the yoga practice part of your everyday life.

What you will learn

You will learn how to ground, reset, and rebalance your nervous system and find deeper embodiment and connection to yourself on all levels. You will also learn to combine the ground-breaking somatic approach to the movement to yoga and have a unique set of skills to find greater freedom and relaxation. There will be skillful and varied asana practice that will help you find the balance between flowing dynamic movements and restful Restorative yoga.

You will learn about the secrets of Shaolin arts and how to blend them into the yoga practice increasing your fluidity and energy levels and understand the basic anatomy, physiology, and alignment to make the yoga practice safe, sustainable, and enjoyable. Through the somatic classes, you will know why you and your students suffer from certain pains and tensions that keep coming back and what is the long term solution, by actually reprogramming your movement patterns.

The training will also help find your direction in what really serves you in your practice and how you can teach from your experience and share your unique voice and gifts authentically. You will have an inspiring yogic experience and full immersion into this way of living that you will carry into your life.

Typical daily schedule

  • 19:00 - 20:00 Dinner, followed by programs on some evenings like yoga movies, sharing circle, meditation, Saturday night market, or free time

Please note this is just a sample schedule and may be subject to change. Some days, you will observe silence till after breakfast. Sundays are free, to be on your own.


Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students will receive certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance (UK). Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.


Laila Sell
Laila likes to help students to listen more to their bodies and share tools that can help them feeling freer on all levels. She also likes to put emphasis on rejuvenating practices to recharge the inner batteries. Her classes are process-oriented, looking for a quality of movement that enhances awareness. It is an invitation to explore new ways of moving, breathing, and being. She developed her teaching skills during four years in the Iyengar yoga tradition. Laila continued her studies in Yin, Restorative, Scaravelli-inspired yoga, yoga synergy, Calligraphy yoga, and Vipassana meditation.
Colm McDonnell
Colm is a certified clinical somatic educator and a somatics movement coach. A graduate of Martha Pererson’s CSE Professional Training (Essential Somatics), he is also a sports injury and massage therapist. He discovered Hanna somatic movement in 2010 and has been exploring and teaching this powerful movement practice ever since. He has a private practice in Dublin, and has worked with clients from all walks of life. Somatic education provides a simple, common sense framework used to guide students to a deeper and more fully embodied understanding of themselves and their yoga practice.

Retreat Ort

This retreat will take place in Goa, India. India is full of magic and wonder, and such a great place to dive deep into the atmosphere, culture, and ancient tradition of yoga. Goa is a green little tropical paradise full of multicultural charm. The pace of life here is tranquil and relaxed and invites to slow down.

You will be located at a walking distance from some of the still unspoiled long sandy beaches of northern Goa near Ashwem and Mandrem area. You can enjoy the legendary Goa sun set beauty and go for swimming in the Arabian Sea, here.
