Julie offers a retreat created for you where you may surrender into an encouraged deep rest and rediscovery of your body's natural cultivated wisdom during this time away. You will also have the chance to reconnect to your inherent clarity, strength, and vitality as you dive into autumn. This yoga and meditation practice is suitable for all with or without previous experience of yoga.

Arcadia, a beautifully renovated traditional Catalan farmhouse, is located in the Biert Valle, near Banyoles’ great natural beauty. The calm and beauty of the valley and forest that surround the house together with the dedication of the experienced expert retreat team at Arcadia make it a truly unique and perfect place for yoga retreat. Arcadia’s property, which includes 15 acres of land, is only an hour and a half by bus from the city of Barcelona and 40 minutes from the Costa Brava.
It has 10 rooms, a spacious dining room with living room and a 200 square meters Sala. Arcadia offers elegant accommodation. There are 10 beautiful rooms, which can be shared for four up to six people with shared bathrooms, but can also be offered for a supplement as private rooms, or for couples.
As part of your retreat package, you are entitled to take part in one yoga session on the arrival day and two yoga sessions each day on Saturday and Sunday. Meditation will also be offered each day in the early morning. The evening yoga session on Friday and Saturday will be a more restorative practice and the afternoon session on Sunday is a gentle closing practice.
Yoga Con Julie offers you the opportunity to sit in the circle of the group in the medicine wheel. There will be time in the day to enjoy free time, immersed in the inspiring natural surroundings. You might go for a sauna, a swim, go for a walk through the valley and forests, or to the nearby lake. The grounds accommodate many gardens and patios to support peace and tranquility on retreat.
Julie will offer one yoga session on the arrival day and two yoga sessions each day on Saturday and Sunday. An early morning session starts from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and evening session starts from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. On the arrival day, there will be one session, you will practice from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Meditation will be offered each day in the early morning. You are also invited to sit in the circle of the group in the medicine wheel.
The yoga sessions will begin with a gentle invitation to open up the body and gently explore and deepen into different postures, breath, and meditation through the weekend. Holding the intention to listen to the awakening seeds of your movement into springtime. The yoga will be suitable for all levels. There will be time in the day to enjoy free time, immersed in the inspiring natural surroundings. You might go for a sauna, rest in the gardens, go for a walk through the valley and forests, or to the nearby lake.
The evening yoga session on Friday and Saturday will be a more restorative practice, and the afternoon session on Sunday is a gentle closing practice. There will be periods of silence from evening until morning to support each other in arrival into the invitation to be with our heart and deep sense of well-being, in gentle mindfulness. All yoga and meditation classes will take place in the beautiful Sala, a room with central heating to be able to receive groups all year.
On Saturday, there will be an option to put on your hiking shoes, take a picnic lunch, walk as a group to the monastery ruins, and enjoy a meditation session together.
Julie is deeply inspired by the work of the late Vanda Scaravelli and teachers of her work, including John Stirk, Diane Long, and Liz Warrington, who work with the relationship between the spine, the breathe, gravity, and space to find freedom of movement and health in the body and mind. Julie's work and classes also acknowledge the meditation of yoga and include meditation practice.
This retreat will be held in Girona, Spain at Arcadia.
On Friday evening, you will be offered delicious, organic dinner created by Arcadia's cook. Followed by nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. All meals are vegan and vegetarian, made with fresh, seasonal, and locally grown ingredients. Please notify Yoga Con Julie if you have dietary requirements.
Thai massage and biodynamic cranio-sacral therapy can be booked for an additional price.
Please book your flight to arrive at Girona–Costa Brava Airport (GRO) or Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN). Transfer from and to the airport is available upon request.
Take a bus that goes to Banyoles, the closest town to Arcadia, located 10 kilometers away.
From Barcelona Sants Station trains run regularly to Girona Train Station, where you can be picked up by Arcadia staff to take the short 25-minute drive to the center.
