If you have dietary restrictions, please be sure that True Nature Travels is aware of this to forward the information to your destination, so they can be prepared for you. Most meals have a protein source (eggs, beans, cheese, nuts, etc.). Also, if you are on a high protein diet, please let True Nature Travels know in advance so they can have something for you. It may be a good idea to bring a protein bar for each day of your retreat.
If you like to snack, True Nature Travels recommends bringing some special snacks with you, but this is not necessary. The meals are abundant and they are confident that you will be well-fed. If you have extreme allergies or strict dietary needs, you may want to bring some supplemental foods so you do not have to worry if you will have what you need. Most of True Nature Travels' centers have alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine. Usually, smoothies and fresh juices are offered as well as sodas, tea, and coffee. Extra drinks are not included in the packages and prices vary from center to center.
Please book your flight to arrive at Athens International Airport (ATH).
Amorgos Island can be reached by ferry from Athens, as well as several Greek islands. All year round, there is a direct Blue Star ferry from Piraeus (port of Athens) departing to Amorgos at 5.30 p.m. every day except for Saturday out of summer season. This ferry also connects the islands of Paros and Naxos with Amorgos. During the summer season (roughly from mid-June to mid-September), there is a Blue Star ferry on Saturday.
In summer, there are also high-speed services on a daily basis, connecting Amorgos to Piraeus and Santorini Island. Mykonos Island is also directly connected to Amorgos several times a week during this season. The rates vary depending on the vessel type as well as travel class. Once you arrive on Amorgos, you will be met and transported to the hotel. This is a five to 35-minute drive, depending on your arrival port (there are two including Katapola or Aegiali).
Included in the retreat is a shuttle from the local port on Amorgos Island to the retreat center. There are many ways to come to this island and this will depend on your travel plans. Once you register, you will receive complete information about the airports and the ferry options that will bring you to your destination. A group shuttle to / from the airport is generally not provided for Amorgos Island, Greece although a shuttle will pick you up from the local port. Please check with True Nature Travels for your particular retreat to make this clear.
In order to utilize these group shuttles, your flights must fall within the flight window guidelines that True Nature Travels provides in their confirmation and "time to book your flight" emails. In the event that the actual arrival time does not coincide with True Nature Travels' windows (such as in the case of flight cancellation or delay,) you will incur the expense of alternative transport.
