During this retreat, you will stay in shared dorms in a variety of recommended and known hostels throughout the tour. Additionally, you will also be able to have an overnight stay in the jungles of Palenque.
Out of your daily business, you will have the perfect opportunity to expand your comfort zone and get to know to new things about yourself. Jeanine's very relaxing yoga and meditation classes will help you during the tour to find inner balance and just take time for yourself. You do not need to have any previous yoga or meditation experience.
Jeanine's yoga style is a mixture of Hatha and Yin Yoga and it is very good for beginners and people who work in an office. She will introduce you to different kinds of meditations. In addition, she will share with you some coaching methods that might help you to get to know better of yourself and your wishes. You can use these methods later in your daily business.
Get to know to the Mexican culture in a non-touristic way and try out a jewelry or tortilla class with locals. Jeanine will show you Mexico’s beautiful spirit and why she fell in love with this beautiful country. Moreover, she would like to introduce you to the low-priced and healthy Mexican cuisine, which has more to offer than just tacos. In fact, food is one of the reasons why she always came back.
According to the slogan "travel light and live light", you will travel just with necessary things and stay in comfortable and family-like hostels in shared dorms.
You will get the chance to experience what is important during travelling for you and what you really need.
Apart from its cultural heritage, Mexico offers beautiful and diverse nature. From desert to mountains, ocean and jungles, you can find everything there.
To get to know to this diverse nature, you will stay one night in the jungle of Palenque and some of the yoga and meditation classes will be out among nature.
At these places, there will not be any Wi-Fi available, hence you will have the chance to experience how it feels to not always be online. Your compensation will be a closer connection with nature.
Additionally, you will also be able to consult with Jeanine about long-term travelling, gap year organization, and backpacking. Before you get the confirmation for your booking, you will do a meeting via Skype or telephone with Jeanine to get to know each other.
Please kindly note that this retreat is only for girls and for those who have curiosity for other cultures. Before the retreat, Jeanine will provide you with information about Mexico and the entry requirements, and suggestions for your packing list and useful hints as well.
You will start in Cancun and travel on the following day to Bacalar. After that, you will travel to Palenque and visit the impressive ruins there. You will stay for one night in the jungle there. From there, you will travel to San Cristobal de las Casas.
You will spend some days in San Cristobal de las Casas. San Cristobal is a very colorful and creative town. One of the highlights there is the Mercado de Dulces y Artesanias where you can buy handcrafted clothes, souvenirs, and sweets. You can do nice tours, discover the surroundings of Chiapas, and try out different classes, such as jewelry, tortilla class, and more.
From San Cristobal, you will travel to Oaxaca. One of the highlights is the diverse and yummy food. In the surroundings of Oaxaca, you can discover many things like the ruins Monte Alban, El Tule, Hierve Agua, etc. From Oaxaca, you will go to your final destination, Mexico City.
This retreat will start from Cancun. You will be able to enjoy a yoga and meditation session on the beach there. After that, you will visit Bacalar and Palenque. In Palenque, you will be able to explore the impressive Palenque ruins and the jungle.
You will visit San Cristobal de las Casas afterward, where you will be able to visit Mercado de Dulces y Artesanias where you can explore a variety of handcrafted souvenirs, sweets, or clothes. From there, you will travel to Oaxaca, and discover the beautiful surroundings of Hierve Agua there. This tour will then end in Mexico City.
This retreat will take place in various interesting places in Mexico, starting in Cancun and ending in Mexico City.
Meals are not included in the package. Through this retreat, Jeanine wishes to introduce you to the low-priced and healthy Mexican cuisine. As an example of a daily food budget, you will only have to spend about 10 to 20 EUR a day. You can get three big tacos for around three EUR, a cup with cut fruits for around one EUR, and a meal in a restaurant for around five to 10 EUR.
During this retreat, you can book tours with recommended external agencies for 20 to 40 EUR. You can try a sailing trip in the lagoon of seven colors in Bacalar, tour around San Cristobal de las Casas, discover the different markets there, or visit Isla las Mujeres in Cancun. You can also sign up for a variety of classes, such as jewelry or tortilla classes for about 10 to 30 EUR. Please book your flight to arrive at Cancún International Airport (CUN). Travel to Come Closer will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hostel with public transportation. Please book your flight so that you arrive one or two days before the official start of the retreat.
