This half day experience will teach you about aquaponics and sustainable agriculture, as well as get you into the local culture of rural Dominican Republic. The Taino organic farm grows a variety of fruit, vegetables, and superfoods which you will be able to taste fresh off the trees during your tour.
After the farm tour, you will be ready to head down to the beautiful Yasica River. The cooling fresh waters will be your guide as you float peacefully downstream from 1 to 2 hours. Adventurists are invited to scramble up a jungle side cliff and jump from an overhanging tree into the crystal waters below. Afterward, you will enjoy a lunch prepared from fresh organic produce.
This retreat will take place in Cabarete, a small laid-back Caribbean beach village. With its charming, hip ambiance, and a combination of relaxed and adventurous lifestyles, most visitors can barely resist the spontaneous temptation of extending their stay. Cabarete is best known as one of the world’s meccas for kiteboarding. The sport is popular here due to the consistent winds nearly year-round, so it’s one of the best places to learn, practice, and perfect the sports. Depending on your desires, you might be kiting, surfing, learning the trapeze, or taking fitness classes.
There are also one-off activities such as visiting the 27 waterfalls, white water rafting, horseback riding, stand up paddle tours, massages, and more, all of which you can schedule upon your arrival.
During this retreat, you will enjoy organic, natural, and farm-fresh breakfasts and dinners supplied by the Taino organic farm. Menus are carefully planned to provide fuel and energy to your body to keep it running at its top level. In case of food allergies, you will need to advise The Yoga Loft so arrangements can be made to accommodate special dietary needs. Please note that the meals that are not mentioned will be on your own.
