All beds are twin beds at the accommodation. The accommodation is heated and air-conditioned. All rooms have ceiling fans and contains one clock radio. Sheets, one pillow, one blanket, one bath towel, one washcloth, and a bar of soap are available. You may want to bring an extra-big towel or your favorite pillow. Additional supplies are available upon request.

Laundry facilities are available during your stay. The facilities are free for you to use, no coins are needed. Newspapers, TVs and radios are not available. Please note that no smoking or intoxicants are allowed on the premises including parking lots. The gates to Radha Madhav Dham close at 10 p.m. each night and reopen at 6 a.m.


Texas Yoga Retreat's featured presenters include Thom Allen, Gudjon Bergmann, Jenny Buergermeister, Robert Boustany, Tracie Brace, E.B. Ferdig, Molly Lannon Kenny, Dr. Deb Kern, Charles MacInerney, Sanieh Morgan, Jessica O’Keefe, Janet Parachin, Victor Parachin and Genevieve Yellin. Please note that the advertised presenters are confirmed at this time but are subject to change.

Whether you’re an experienced yogi or a beginner, you can create your ideal schedule at the Texas Yoga Retreat. There are classes for all levels and all body types. You will mix in walking meditation or pranayama (energy breathing practice) with Vinyasa flow and Iyengar (alignment based) classes. Participation is always optional in all of the classes. Please rest as often as you like during any class to reduce the risk of injury.

Charles F. MacInerney
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Charles F. MacInerney has been a full-time teacher of yoga, meditation and mind / body skills since 1989. He teaches ongoing yoga classes in Austin, Texas, offers yoga workshops at studios around the country and leads yoga and meditation retreats as well as yoga and writing retreats throughout the US, Mexico, Costa Rica and Guatemala. He has also written articles for numerous magazines including the Yoga Journal.
Ellen B. Smith
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Yoga)
Ellen is a certified Ananda meditation teacher and certified as well as registered Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative Flow yoga instructor. With a master’s degree in spiritual psychology and background as a diversity facilitator, she has worked for decades as a mentor to people of all walks of life. Her passions are teaching Hatha yoga and intuitive mentoring, a name she coined to describe the unique coaching work she does. Ellen uses her own blend of deep listening, intuition, genuine praise as well as quality resources to help others recognize and utilize their innately positive qualities.
Thom Allen

For more than 25 years, psychotherapist and yoga teacher Thom Allen has been sharing his passion for yoga wellness through his company PranaDynamics. Students enjoy his unique style that is mentally stimulating, physically exhilarating and spiritually inspiring. With experience ranging from restorative therapeutics and meditation to power yoga Flow, Thom works with a variety of populations, from those with terminal illnesses and their caregivers to corporate executives and professional athletes.
Gudjon Bergmann
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Gudjon Bergmann, E-RYT-500, is the author of more than twenty books, including Baby Steps to Meditation, Living in the Spirit of Yoga, Know Thyself, Create a Safe Space and Yes! You Can Manage Stress. He trained with Yogi Shanti Desai and Sri Yogi Hari. From 1998 he has trained more than 80 yoga teachers and taught for over 6500 hours. Born and raised in Iceland, Gudjon moved to the USA in 2010 and became a USA Citizen in 2013. He offers meditation courses, teaches yoga classes and writes from his home base in Kyle, Texas.
Jenny Buergermeister

Jenny Buergermeister, YA RYT 500, RYS 500 and IAYT member, holds a master in psychology and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University and an MBA from the University of Illinois. She teaches three undergraduate courses at Rice University and two psychology courses at College of Healthcare Professions. She works full-time in mental health as a wellness specialist for The Menninger Clinic in the Texas Medical Center.
Robert Boustany
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Robert Boustany, E-RYT-500, is a physicist who has been teaching yoga for 45 years. He is known for a details understanding of the anatomy of poses and will often give energetic as well as therapeutic reasons for alignments. His classes are taught with lighthearted interludes between focused intense work. His background is primarily Ashtanga, Iyengar and Forrest Yoga. Though he has studied extensively many esoteric forms of yoga, Qigong, etc. His philosophic basis is Advaita Vedanta. He teaches Hatha, Ashtanga, Forrest and Pralaya Yoga.
E.B. Ferdig
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
E.B. is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT-500 and is an Integrated Movement Therapy practitioner and trainer. She helps people discover their individual strengths and spiritual focus for greater empowerment in their lives and in the world. She is a co-creator of Unfold, a yoga studio in Portland, Oregon that focuses on accessible movement and meditation practices. She has been teaching yoga and dharma for over 13 years.
Molly Lannon Kenny
Molly Lannon Kenny is the founder of The Samarya Yoga School, a training organization dedicated to individual transformation. She has been featured in Yoga Journal, Yoga Chicago, Yoga Northwest, Wisdom Magazine and the New York Times among others. Molly is known as a funny, accessible and super knowledgeable teacher. Her book, No Gurus Came Knocking, is now available on Amazon.
Dr. Deborah Kern

Deborah Kern, E-RYT-500, has been practicing and teaching yoga since her first immersion training at Satchidananda Ashram in 1994. She combines her experience as a health scientist, Nia Black Belt Teacher and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist with her love of yoga to offer uniquely powerful, joyful and healing classes.
Jessica O’Keefe

Jessica O’Keefe has 20 years of experience guiding people in yoga and movement education. Her understanding of yoga and the human body has been influenced by body mind centering, modern dance, dance therapy and holistic health. She encourages an authentic and life-nurturing practice, one that brings greater consciousness to each moment and each movement of the body. Jessica teaches workshops throughout the USA and currently teaches at the Dallas Yoga Center and at her home in East Dallas.
Janet W. Parachin

Janet W. Parachin is a proud graduate of the Living Yoga Program and certified yoga therapist. She has been teaching yoga since 2004 and facilitating meditation groups since 1999. She has degrees in religion, ministry and education. She has completed over 1500 hours of training in anatomy, Restorative and Therapeutic yoga as well as Ayurveda. Her teachers are Doug Keller, Judith Hanson Lasater, David Frawley and Vasant Lad. Janet is the Director of Yoga Spirit Academy yoga teacher training program in Tulsa. She teaches that all may experience Sukha, ease in body, mind, heart and spirit.
Victor. M. Parachin
Victor. M. Parachin is director of the Tulsa Yoga Meditation Center and co-founder of Yoga Spirit Academy, a yoga teacher training school. He teaches yoga, meditation and is the author of several books including GPS For Our Souls: A – Z Coordinates To Enlightenment; Swami Vivekananda: Essential Writings; and Eastern Wisdom For Western Minds.
Genevieve Yellin

Genevieve Yellin’s background as a research scientist before transitioning to full-time yoga therapist is evident in her approach to yoga therapy. Her teaching serves as an accessible bridge between the ancient teachings of yoga and modern medical sciences. She is the founder and director of a non-profit organization and is faculty in yoga therapy and trauma informed yoga training worldwide.

Retreat Ort

The retreat will be held at the Ancient Yoga Center, located on the grounds of Radha Madhav Dham, a beautiful ashram and retreat facility located in the Austin Hill Country. Established in 1990 and open to people of all faiths, it is a center for spiritual upliftment. Situated on 200 acres of picturesque grounds, the setting is beautiful and serene. The Ancient Yoga Center near Austin, Texas is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet and serene environment while following your yogic journey. You won't find another place like it.

Located in the Central Texas Hill Country (30 minutes from Austin), Radha Madhav Dham is one of the largest Hindu temples in the USA. Enjoy the 200 acres of walking trails, native plants and wildlife as well as water features where you can step back from your day to day city life and immerse yourself in this serene environment. Radha Madhav Dham is located Southwest of Austin, Texas, approximately 45 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes from downtown Austin.

Local chefs prepare vegetarian dishes for your every meal including your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fresh fruit with coffee or chai are available during classes and filtered water is offered throughout the grounds. Texas Yoga Retreat gets compliments every year about their wonderful and nutritious food. Additional meals falling outside the retreat times cost 15 USD. For those who plan to arrive early or stay after the retreat and would like to take meals at the ashram, please pre-order to Texas Yoga Retreat.

Driving directions from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)

  • Travel on Route 71 West towards Austin, passing under I-35 (Route 71 becomes Highway 290 West from this point)
  • After 3.7 miles, you will exit at Loop 1 North / South
  • Turn left at the third traffic light onto Loop 1 (Mopac South)
  • After a few miles, Loop 1 will become 45 west
  • Continue on Route 45 west until it ends at FM 1826
  • Turn left on FM 1826. After 4 miles you will see the main entrance to Radha Madhav Dham on the left.

Driving directions from Austin

  • From I-35 take the Slaughter Lane exit (Exit 227) and go west
  • After 8 miles, Slaughter Lane will end in a “T” intersection at FM 1826 (also called Camp Ben McCulloch Road)
  • Turn left (south) on FM 1826
  • After 6 miles you will see a large sign for Radha Madhav Dham
  • The main entrance is 1/4 mile further ahead on the left
  • Turn left through the gates and follow signs to the Ancient Yoga Center.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).

The ashram is 45 minutes away from the airport in good traffic. From the airport, you can get to Radha Madhav Dham by cab, shuttle or rental car. You can locate cabs or the shuttle at a designated curb at the airport. The address you can give the driver is Radha Madhav Dham, 400 Barsana Road. Texas Yoga Retreat suggests printing out a copy of the directions to Radha Madhav Dham to give to the cab / shuttle driver and verifying beforehand the cost of the trip. The cost of a cab from the airport to Radha Madhav Dham is approximately 50 USD.
