Accommodation at Suan Sati is simple yet comfortable, perfect for yogis. The bamboo construction connects you to the local building style with this environmentally friendly material. You have the choice of either the longhouse dorm, or a shared bungalow for two. Suan Sati have shared toilets and hot water showers located conveniently in the center of the mini village.

    Will founded Suan Sati as a lifestyle that would allow himself and others to live the practice and not only visit it. Buddhist meditation, yoga, and permaculture are integral parts of his path, and the opportunity and responsibility to share these things with others in a community setting led him to take on this project. Will is always on site tending the gardens, leading meditation, and sneaking bananas, but he always has time for a chat and a laugh with new friends.

    For Lisa, yoga is practicing body awareness and connecting with the deeper self. Yoga opened up a whole new world for her; a world of transformation, acceptance, connection, and the direct knowledge of a higher power, without having to label or define it. One key point for her that leads to a healthy, balanced, and holistic lifestyle is the certainty that there is a vital force within and around our body that keeps us alive, constantly flowing. Every breath, every heartbeat deserves to be honored, on and off the mat. She has completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in Goa, India.

This retreat is going to happen in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Suan Sati is located in a small village, 40 minutes outside of Chiang Mai, nestled in the foothills of Northern Thailand's mountains.

    Amazing experience

    CONS Negatives: Lots of mosquitos so bring lots of bug spray!

    PROS Positives: The place is amazing. Very relaxing and a beautiful setting. The yoga and meditation is brilliant and there are many workshops to keep you entertained as well. The food is all vegan and is incredible (speaking as a meat eater) and everything is very ecological. I met some wonderful people here and didn't want to leave. Very cleansing.

    A perfect stay

    CONS Negatives: That I didn't have time to stay longer.

    PROS Positives: This place is paradise. From the beet minute you get out of the car, you are welcomed and embraced by everyone. The retreat is filled with positivity, creativity, and mindfulness. I've never experienced anything like it.

    PROS Positives: Life changing experience! So much love and attention goes into making this place a gorgeous slice of heaven on this Earth. From the classes expertly and mindfully led, to the delicious food lovingly prepared each day; the fun workshops and 'extras' the teachers go out of their way to provide, to the meticulous care for the environment exacted in every way possible, it was a perfect 2 weeks. Go for longer if you can. Everyone there with me extended their stay as long as they could! Can't wait to come back again!

    PROS Positives: Will and Lisa are amazing teachers and hosts! The food was delicious every time, the classes were the best I've ever had anywhere, and the place felt like home. I would recommend this to everyone!

    Grounding and balanced

    CONS Negatives: I didn't particularly like the spiders, but that's a personal fear.

    PROS Positives: I particularly enjoyed how before ever meal, we came together and shared a moment of silence to give thanks. The yoga and meditation practices were more challenging than others but the instructors did a good job of guiding the class through each step. As a yoga student, I would highly recommend the private yoga sessions and physiotherapy sessions in order to improve a personal practice. Will and Lisa have created a truly magical sanctuary to reconnect with oneself.

    CONS Negatives: Having to leave!!

    PROS Positives: A beautiful place with the most amazing staff, volunteers and visitors. The yoga program was tailored to meet any level of skill and the instructors were very attentive. They would support beginners and extend the advanced. Will and Lisa have huge hearts and will ensure you have a pleasant stay. Shannon and the volunteers were all amazing and very kind.
