During this retreat, you will be accommodated at Villa Varia in either a shared yurt, yoga room, or double room. This villa is situated in a beautiful natural reserve close to the Pellenberg Hospital but is at the same time easily accessible from Leuven and Tienen. The energetic place which has come to exist here is described by others as a home, an oasis, and a place to find peace.

You can choose between accommodation in yurt or yoga room, case in which you have to bring your own towels, bedding, and mattress, or accommodation in shared room, case in which the towels, bedding, and mattress are included.

This place has come into existence very organically both through the cooperation with Japjeet, who runs a three-day retreat every four to six weeks and through the Kundalini yoga level one training ran by Hari Krishan Singh.

Strengthen your soul

The very concept of time is changing and events that took place last week often seem to have happened months ago. If you rely on your ego / mind (the old, Piscean ways) during this time life will seem overwhelming and filled with doubt, fear, and anxiety. It’s a time of great expansion of consciousness that seems to bring with it new challenges to humanity that you have never encountered before.

The ancients and wise ones have warned to let go of the old ways, of living by the mind and ego. The ego / mind is made up of thoughts and beliefs from the past (unreality) and is not equipped to guide you into this new age. During great changes like the ones, you are encountering right now, the mind will mostly advise you to separate and withdraw from others in unhealthy ways; or go into a fantasy and deny what is coming; or generate thoughts of fear so you live in scarcity.

Prosperity

Prosperity is the gift of the neutral or meditative mind. People who live and act from their neutral mind weigh the pros and cons (positive and negative minds), they take the downsides and the upsides and calculate how to use them based on their real purpose, their true identity, their destiny. They use their intuition and at the center of all their efforts is a deep sense of purpose and meaning.

The result is a deep sense of what to do next, what to avoid, and who to connect with in order to achieve their higher purpose. Prosperity is not about wealth or poverty, it is about fulfilling one's higher destiny, which in turn is realized by the intuition. It is about keeping one's clarity of mind amidst all the distractions and diversions of the world.

It is about forging relationships that are mutually satisfying. In such a mental state, wealth appears by itself, because it becomes an inner state, not something external and measurable. A person who truly lives in a state of prosperity will give and fulfill no matter what the circumstances are, and will have inner peace regardless of what is happening around him, irrespective of pressures or shortcomings. Such a person will not trade his or her values for temporary benefits: he or she constantly sees the present and the opportunities of the Infinite in each person.

Abundance

Abundance is the attitude of the positive mind (third chakra, navel, possibilities). People who live in the attitude of abundance will believe that they can do pretty much anything, as long as they put their mind to it, put enough effort into it, be intelligent or just lucky enough. They are risk takers. Often these people accumulate possessions, money or accomplishments, but they run the risk of becoming absorbed in what they create and of losing their sense of purpose. Accumulation itself becomes the purpose until the realization of an existential emptiness makes them question this whole race for acquisition.

Scarcity

Scarcity is the attitude of the negative mind (second chakra, kidneys, fears): "There is not enough," "How will it hurt me?" "What will I lose?" People who are ruled by scarcity thinking don't want to take any risks, they live with a constant fear of losing things or they are constantly afraid to be used.

During this workshop, you will combine some intense physical Kundalini yoga kriyas with meditation, dhristi (mental and eye focus), mantras and simran (sound currents or mentally produced sounds), and pranayama (breathing techniques). Dr. Japjeet Rajbir Kaur will carry and inspire the group by her unique combination of inner strength and gentleness, humor, presence, and the way she lives according to the teachings of Sikh dharma, the path of righteous living where one gives away one tenth of one's earnings (dasvandh).

This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as people with experience in Kundalini yoga and/or meditation and is open to both men and women of all ages and from all backgrounds. For KY teachers from the United Kingdom, this retreat is accredited nine CEU-credits by KYTA.

    Japjeet Kaur is a full-time KRI & IKYTA-certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and teacher trainer for KRI. She has been teaching KY since 2008 in Belgium and in the UK (where she resides). She has specialised in stress-management, burnout, depression, anxiety; addiction recovery; pre- & postnatal yoga; men’s, women's & relationships teachings. She is also a nutrition & health coach, life & yoga coach, and aroma & massage therapist. ThreeBestRated nominated her Shuniya Kundalini Yoga enterprise in October 2017 as ‘Best Business of 2017’ for Leicester, UK and awarded her their ‘badge of excellence’.

This retreat will take place in Pellenberg, Belgium. Pellenberg is a small town located in the western-most part of the municipality of Lubbeek, in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the price of the package. Each day, you will be served vegan, vegetarian, organic, and mostly gluten-free meals made with fresh ingredients. You will also be served tea and snacks such as fruit, nuts, and homemade cakes. Prabhu Anand Kaur, the host of Villa Varia, is a professional cook. If there are any allergies or food intolerance, you can let her know well in advance. Bringing or preparing your own food in the villa is not allowed.

Explore Leuven

Leuven is one of Belgium's finest medieval cities and the oldest university town in Europe, with its university library serving as a landmark in the city. You can visit the world-renowned Grand Béguinage, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the M Leuven, a renowned inner-city museum.

Visit the Castle de Maurissens

The eclectic Castle de Maurissens is named after its noble patron dating back from 1916. Since 1949, the castle lies within the park property of the Catholic University of Leuven.

Visit the Saint Peter's Church of Leuven

The Saint Peter's Church of Leuven is situated on the city's Grote Markt, or main market square, right across the ornate town hall. It was built mainly in the 15th century in Brabantine Gothic style. The church has a cruciform floor plan and a 93-meter long low bell tower that has never been completed.

Arrival by train

Villa Varia is eight kilometers away from the Leuven railway station. From the airport, there is a direct train to Leuven station which only takes around 15 minutes.

You can also take a 24-minute train ride from the Brussels Midi train station to Leuven station, while the Brussels North station is only a 15-minute train ride away.

Arrival by bus

You can take the De Lijn bus 3 from Leuven station to the Pellenberg Hospital, which is within walking distance to the venue.
