The training also open up to include other methods of healing, calling on not just the physical and mental elements but also the more subtle forms such as earth medicine, energy healing and shamanic journeying.
SYI will also share the art of teaching and art of touch, during which students learn to teach two asana sequences, the mystical Hatha flow, a slow, meditative, Sivananda-based practice, and the mystical Vinyasa flow, a more intense, breath-synchronized flow. You also share the fundamentals of intelligent sequencing and explore alignment and adjustment of poses in depth. Each evening you close with satsang, your evening gathering, which may be meditation, kirtan chanting or sacred ceremony.

Anita’s life mission is living and cultivating a life of balance in serving others. The retreat will take place in Savusavu Bay, Fiji. Daku Resort is on Fiji’s northern island of Vanua Levu, just outside the small town of Savusavu. Fiji has about 300 islands. The two big ones are Viti Levu where you’ll arrive when you fly into Nadi airport, and Vanua Levu - that’s where the resort is located. But whilst Viti Levu has most of the population and gets most of the tourism, they are still a sleepy backwater with a small population and a fraction of the tourist numbers.
The accommodation is in beautiful tropical gardens overlooking Savusavu Bay, which is straight over the road in front of the accommodation. Behind, the property stretches up the mountain - you’re welcome to walk there.
During the retreat, you will be served with daily regular and vegetarian meals.
Choose between a tropical breakfast or a full cooked breakfast. The tropical breakfast consists of choice of cereals with fresh fruits and yogurt, hot toast, tea and coffee. Cooked breakfast consists of French toast, porridge, bacon and eggs, pancakes, sausage and eggs.
Try all sorts of salads, wraps, omelettes, fish and chips, chicken curry with rice and chutney, or burger and fries. For a quick snack, you can have a plate of salad or a bowl of fries, and for a dessert, there’s platters of fruit or a bowl of homemade ice cream.
At Daku, dinner is an event and they aim to keep you entertained through till bedtime. The regular special dinners they put on consist of Fijian dinners, Indian curry nights, Chinese nights and lovos (traditional Fijian method of baking food in ground ovens). They can cater for vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diets.
Any time you want a refreshing drink, there is fresh pineapple juice, soft drinks or delicious banana or tropical fruit smoothies.

To get to Daku Resort, you need to fly into Nadi, Fiji’s international airport on the main island of Viti Levu, and then take a domestic flight to either Savusavu or Labasa airport. To reach Savusavu, the flight takes 55 minutes and affords some spectacular views. Daku Resort has a courtesy pickup from Savusavu airport and Daku Resort is a 10-minute drive over the hill. Alternatively, to reach Labasa,it is a 45-minute flight from Nadi airport. Labasa airport is situated on the north side of Vanua Levu and is a very scenic 80-minute drive to Daku Resort.
