Stowel Lake Farm is a well established and loved farm in the island community. The classes are held in the beautiful, newly built yoga studio. Dorothy’s weekly yoga classes and monthly retreats have been well attended by both community members and visitors from around the world.

This beautiful new facility and its accommodations are of the highest quality and workmanship. Its cherry wood floors, vaulted ceilings, and panoramic views of the surrounding organic farm and meditation garden make it a yogi's dream retreat.

Accommodation is comfortable and offered on a shared and private basis. Shared rooms are for two to four persons. There are also private rooms with a shared bath. Camping and motorhome prices are also available. At the location, there is also a farm stand with fresh produce, a vegetable garden, a perennial garden, and a multi-purpose barn.

During this yoga retreat, you will learn methods to keep your body, mind, and emotional state healthy. You will stretch and strengthen your body with mindful asana practice and learn the four purifications. There will be four pranayama exercises to balance the body energy and move stagnant energy, keeping all vital areas healthy and stimulated.

You will also get to practice simple meditations with profound effects, as well as improve your pelvic floor health and strengthen your core. These two areas are a concern for many. With various activities, you will also learn the difference between training and strengthening these vital areas.

Learning how to apply these skills to your yoga poses and to your daily life is another advantage of this long weekend retreat. The benefits are many, whether you are male or female. In addition, you will get support from a highly experienced teacher during your entire stay.

Let Dorothy help you refine your practice, develop your discipline, and teach you how to let go of stress, including a life-long held stress. In the mornings, you will explore the energetically balanced fluidity of Hatha and Hatha Flow yoga and in the afternoons, you will enjoy a slow, deeply inward turning practice.

Dorothy is skilled at leading multi-level classes; always giving plenty of verbal cues and modification options. Let her know if you need specific guidance with one-on-one assistance. Live a yogi's dream in this beautiful facility with lovely accommodations and incredible gardens.

    Salt Spring Centre of Yoga (Hatha Yoga)

    Dorothy Price is a yoga practitioner and teacher based in British Colombia, Canada. Her passion for yoga began over 30 years ago and since 2002, she has shared her love for this ancient teaching through weekly classes and close to 50 yoga retreats, adding up to over 4000 teaching hours. Dorothy is a senior teacher at the Salt Spring Center of Yoga, where she offers weekly classes. Dorothy has been a faculty member for The Salt Spring Center’s renowned yoga teacher training program since 2004.

This retreat will take place on the lovely Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, in Canada.

During this retreat, you will be provided with delicious vegetarian meals and snacks. The farm serves up hearty meals and a mid-afternoon snack. If you think you might still get the munchies, you can bring your favorite goodies and snacks. There will be toast and fruit available to eat. Juice, soy milk, and milk will be available in the fridge.

In your free time, you can read a book, wander the gardens, hike, or visit the village of Ganges to see the amazing Saturday Market, where you will find local crafts, organic produce, and baked products. The market is available from April to October. Arrival by ferry / boat

From Schwartz Bay ferry terminal, you can catch a ferry to Salt Spring Island. You will be picked up once you reach Salt Spring Island. If you are coming from the Vancouver area, you can travel on the ferry or take a floatplane to Salt Spring.

The easiest way to get to Salt Spring from Vancouver is on the morning ferry from Tsawwassen to Long Harbor on Salt Spring Island. If you travel in your car on this ferry, you need to make a reservation. You might want to leave on the same route that leaves from Long Harbor in the afternoon or evening.

If the above option does not work for you, then you could opt to take the ferry sailing from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay and get a through pass to Fulford Harbor or Salt Spring Island. You cannot make a reservation on this ferry.

If you are coming from the Nanaimo or Duncan area, you will want to come by Crofton or Vesuvius (Salt Spring Island). Reservations are not available on this ferry. These ferries are very busy on Friday, so plan to travel early if you do not have a reservation.
