Awaken your inner zen and join Jeff for a blissed out yoga and surf retreat. This retreat will offer you a perfect balance of mind, body, and spirit in an oasis of beauty and tranquility. Relax and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in Central America, Maderas Beach. Soak in the delights of Nicaragua, which is renowned for its beauty.
During this retreat, you have the option to choose between Seven Arrows Surf Lodge or Atesano Hotel.
The seven nights will be spent at Seven Arrows Surf Lodge, a beautiful house, perched high on a cliff, overlooking the surf and surrounding valleys. The yoga space is spectacular; a platform with amazing views, allowing the soul to soar in the surreal natural beauty.
The best view room on the second level offers great privacy and inspires a sleep among the heaven as the clouds drift closely by and beyond the blue horizon.
The large mural and eccentric positioning of this room offer more privacy and steps onto a beautiful carved-stone patio that looks upon the Guanacaste Peninsula of Costa Rica. This room is also in the shade most of the day and stays extra cool.
Views of the Southern skies, sea, and emerald Bahia de Marsella inspire a sense of tranquility and calmness.
The best view in the lodge is perfectly framed by the corner main glass windows; the entire lodge was built around the view from this room.
The hotel is conveniently located next to the Seven Arrow Surf Lodge. Each room is equipped with air-conditioner, king-sized beds, private bathroom with shower, fresh towels, free Wi-Fi, and a working space.
During this retreat, Hatha yoga classes will be led in the morning and in the afternoon by Jeff. There will be a one day off of yoga and you will travel to Ometepe Island and dive in the crystal springs.
Enjoy a day trip to Ometepe Island and dive in the crystal springs.
This retreat will take place at Maderas Beach, San Juan del Sur. Pamper your body and soul while enjoying majestic sunsets and the powerful vibration of the ocean surf. Maderas Beach is one of the premier surfing destinations in the country. It is a quaint town with dramatic rock outcroppings on the ocean, allowing one to sit back and absorb the serenity of nature in complete bliss.
Just a quick 20 minutes by car will get you to the town of San Juan del Sur. There you will find fresh fruit and vegetable markets, internet cafes, and an English bookstore among numerous great restaurants and social hang-outs.
You will be served breakfast daily.
There are optional activities that you can enjoy during the retreat at additional costs such as a day trip to Ometepe Island, Catamaran cruise, surf lessons, traditional and sound healing massage, horseback riding, a private charter boat to the seas, and surf photography.
Playa Maderas is probably the most consistent beach break in the world. The waves aren't always great but when it's small, Maderas picks up the most swell, attracting an eclectic gathering of surfers from around the globe from long boarders to local rippers.
When it's too big for Maderas or if it's just not working that well, check out Marsella which is a beautiful little pirates bay that has a point wave on the South end and a tubing beach break in the center.
A 15-minute trip South via boat or 30 minutes by land, Playa Remanso is a small bay with points on each side and a beach break in the middle. It's a great spot for beginners or when there's too much swell, Remanso usually holds.
Just past Remanso is Hermosa, a mile long beach break which is typically softer but can get really good when the swell is large and from the right direction.
A little further to the South is Yanqui. Yanqui is a wedging beach break that is quite heavy when there is swell. It throws perfect tubes sometimes but can be somewhat fickle. Definitely a great spot for building up tube time.
About 40 minutes to the North lies Playa Manzanillo, it's a private beach and only accessible via boat. With the right swell direction, it becomes absolutely the perfect point with multiple tube sections and several sections to hack and hack and hack.
