Preksha Yoga Ashram is a live-in school, a place of learning where you can focus your mind and learn from the experienced and knowledgeable teachers. The ashram is set up to mimic that of India’s traditional and ancient gurukul system where you will be guided and supported by the teachers throughout your stay.

Preksha Yoga Ashram is simple, clean, and eco-friendly wooden cottages. Single or shared accommodation is available and all rooms have attached bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with western toilets and western showers with hot showers available during winter season.

There is simple and clean dining hall (tables, chairs, cutlery, and plates), RO filtered drinking water, 24-hour electricity, washing machine (charged per load), and ashram boutique (yoga mats, meditation cushions, shawls, toiletries etc. can be purchased at cost prices).

Rules of the ashram

  • Alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs are strictly forbidden at the ashram.
  • Preksha Yoga Ashram advises you not to bring any valuable belongings. If necessary, it is possible to store your valuables safely in the ashram.

Virachana is medicated purgation therapy which removes pitta toxins from the body that are accumulated in the liver and gallbladder. It completely cleanses the gastrointestinal tract. It is a safe procedure without side effects. The benefits of Virachana can help you to root out a chronic fever, diabetes, asthma, skin disorders such as herpes, paraplegia, hemiplegia joint disorders, digestive disorders, constipation, hyperacidity, vitiligo, psoriasis, headaches, elephantiasis, and gynecological disorders.

Panchakarma is a therapy that can be done regularly (quarterly, half-yearly or yearly) to rid the body of toxins and provides protection from all kinds of diseases. As such, Panchakarma is ideal not only for people with health problems but also for the health since it helps in cleansing and rejuvenation. It works on all levels of the human energy system that includes the mind, body, and emotions.

Panchakarma helps in the purification and rejuvenation of the body and mind. It does so by restoring the balance of doshas and elimination of toxins. The therapy should be followed by a proper diet and lifestyle so that the positive changes triggered by Panchakarma are maintained, and noticeable results can be seen. Though Panchakarma may provide quick relief in relaxing and rejuvenating a healthy individual, in people with ailments it may take some time to show effects.

By Panchakarma treatment, more than 50 - 60% of Ayurvedic treatment gets completed. But to treat diseases completely, Ayurvedic medicines will be required for a specific amount of time.

    Yogi Madhav is a very experienced yoga teacher. He has graduated in Philosophy, Sanskrit and Hindi. He also holds a Master degree in Yoga and Meditation. He has studied the Vedas, varying philosophies, yoga therapy, Pranic healing and reflexology. His in-depth knowledge of yoga and Vedas combined with a modern approach to teaching makes his teaching style unique.

    Kirsty began her journey with yoga after suffering from anxiety and looking for a natural cure. From her first class, she was completely addicted and she quickly realized that she wanted to become a teacher so that she could change other people’s lives through yoga, as yoga had changed hers. These days, Kirsty is an international yoga teacher, travelling the world and spreading her love of yoga everywhere she lands.

  • Dr. Om Prakash

    Dr.Om Prakash has a Ph.D. in alternative medicine. He also holds a bachelor degree in Ayurveda. He is a disciplined, confident, and goal-oriented individual. Carrying a positive mental attitude, he is a consultant in health and nutrition. He has also specialized in therapeutic yoga and naturopathy and is the founder of HHP (holistic healing practitioner) level 1, 2, and 3.

    Katie is 250-hour trained and Yoga Alliance certified in Hatha and Yin yoga and hates to say the word instructor or teacher because neither feels authentic or comfortable for her to say, she simply shares what she loves, what she is passionate about, what she believes in and what she has learnt in the hope that it gives others what it has given her.

  • Prabhakar Rana

    Prabhakar Rana is a yoga teacher with more than 1000+ hours of training behind him. His classes are infused with humor, positivity, and helping students build confidence on and off the mat. He has been studying classical texts of Vedanta and yogic philosophy. He also teaches philosophy and meditation with a modern outlook. His aim is to help his students build confidence with meditative practices and learn how to apply their yogic knowledge in daily life.

Preksha Yoga Ashram environment is simplistic in nature and practicality, allowing the space for growth and stillness. The ashram is situated amongst the tall banana and coconut trees and surrounded by lush green vegetation, submerged beautifully in the rich nature of Mandrem, Goa. Tranquil and secure in its setting, the ashram is a mere seven-minute walk from Mandrem Beach and the soft deep sounds of the sea can often be heard from your beds.
