Pavones Yoga Center overlooks the world-famous Pavones surf break so that, during the swell season, you can actually watch people surf from the yoga studio. Pavones Yoga Center provides linens, bath towels, and kitchen supplies, and the onsite accommodations include housekeeping services. Please consider the environment when packing your toiletries. Natural shampoos, soaps, and lotions are softer on the local ecosystem.
During the time together, you will delve into the precise and proper alignment of classical standing poses by outlining muscle pairings and proper anatomy. Armed with this wisdom, you’ll take home a way to practice that is sustainable and healthy regardless of what kinds of yoga classes you attend.
Attend engaging workshops about the unique Pavones Yoga Center earth-oriented philosophy which draw from the laws of nature and ecopsychology as a way of understanding the ancient and esoteric teachings of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The program begins on the evening of July 7, 2018 and ends on the evening of July 12, 2018.

Pavones Yoga Center is located 800 meters from the beach up a very steep hill. The center of "town" (more like a very small village) is right at the bottom of Alta Mira (the name of the road). There is a beautiful fresh water river, Rio Claro, near the entrance to the beach where you can cool off and chill out before heading back to Pavones Yoga Center.
Located at the southern entrance to the Golfo Dulce ("Sweet Gulf"), Pavones is a quaint, charming, and traditional Costa Rican town complete with centrally located soccer field across from the local canteen. The proximity to the Osa Peninsula means Pavones Yoga Center have the same abundant wildlife and lush, empty beaches ripe for exploring.
You will be served all meals beginning with dinner on July 7, 2018 and ending with breakfast on July 13, 2018. You will nourish and fuel your body with thoughtfully prepared meals from the kitchen of Pavones Yoga Center. Alex Lanau, with the help of the local kitchen staff, carefully sources organic produce grown locally in the nearby mountains of San Isidro. Hungry yogis share daily inspired and tasteful meals, delicious fresh squeezed fruit juices, and yummy deserts on site in the Pavones Yoga Center.
The local grocery stores carry basic food items and, in recent years, some surprising imports such as wasabi, soy sauce, tahini, and kalamata olives. This quaint town still receives vegetables and fruit via a "fruit truck" that arrives twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays. Shopping out of the colorful fruit truck is an event in itself.
Pavones Yoga Center includes a large kitchen that you can either choose to stock yourself or which can be stocked prior to your arrival. Please send an inquiry to Pavones Yoga Center for a grocery list if you are interested in the latter option. If you are eating out, there is an excellent vegetarian café, two restaurants serving authentic Italian cuisine, several cevicherias (serving the local specialty of marinated fish with chopped veggies), and numerous Tico sodas.
Rice and beans are traditional side dishes that come with just about everything here. If you have specific dietary restrictions please send an inquiry to Pavones Yoga Center so that they can be sure to accommodate them.
Please book your flight to arrive at Golfito Airport (GLF).
You’ll want to fly from San Jose to Golfito which is the nearest airport. Please check out the two options, Nature Air and Sansa Airlines. Nature Air often runs specials but please beware of tight luggage weight-limit restrictions on both airlines.
Most of the guests and students fly into the scenic town of Golfito (about 1.5 hours from Pavones Yoga Center) and take a taxi or rent a car from there. The road into Pavones is not paved. An adventurous few choose to drive from San Jose (about 6 hours) or take a local bus from San Jose to Golfito or Paso Canoas.
