During the retreat, you will be staying in four-star accommodations in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Yucatan that are provided by Marina de Lima. The rooms are based on double occupancy. Single occupancy is available for an additional fee. If you choose to stay in the shared double room, you will be paired with another single retreat guest of the same sex.
Your activities will consist of daily open level yoga practices, hiking, ritual Mayan dancing, and sightseeing to the Wonder of the World, Chichen Itza. The fitness level of this trip is considered moderate. All activities are optional and can be taken at your own pace. The itinerary and a packing list for your preparation will be delivered to you two months before the trip begins.
Throughout the retreat, you will be led through a traditional temazcal (sweat lodge) experience as well as a cacao ceremony. Temazcal is a traditional Mexican sweat lodge. Since ancient times, a temazcal ceremony is considered to be a healing and purification ceremony that cleanses the mind, body, and spirit.
The ancient Mayans and Aztecs used cacao for spiritual and ceremonial activities. Cacao is considered to be the best creativity enhancer as well as a facilitator of deep inner work. The ceremonies will be guided by experienced shamans and medicine men who World Travelers Association (WTA) has worked with extensively.
Adventurous visits to one of the Wonders of the World, Chichen Itza, as well as cenotes, Rio Lagartos, Las Coloradas, and La Huasteca park are included in this retreat.
