The word meditation is derived from the Latin “meditari” = “to ponder, think, practice, prepare.” It has its roots in Greek as well: “medomai” = “I’m calm; I reflect.” You can meditate laying down, sitting, walking and standing, at home and while traveling, climbing stairs, while brushing your teeth, or washing the dishes.
Meditation is not just for gurus, yogis, or spiritual people, but really is something for everyone! If you do not like the concept of meditation, simply replace it with “relaxation,” “stillness,” “introspection” or “quiet time.” It is not about words, but about the experience of presence, tranquility and peace that you can create in your own mind.
You will be introduced to several different yoga and meditation practices and the principles on which they are based. These may include forms of guided or silent meditations, mindfulness of your heart, breathing exercises, and chakra focus, and life-enhancing tools. This retreat includes simple ways to integrate yoga and meditation in your daily life, providing a foundation for overall wellness.
The yoga teachers in this retreat are some of the world’s finest. They will guide you through various yoga practices each morning and some afternoons. Specific styles will vary based on the participants and retreat.

This retreat will be held in Tulum, a breathtaking piece of paradise sitting at the south end of the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Tulum is home to the spectacular Tulum ruins with neighboring ruin sites such as Coba and Muyil. Visitors travel from all over the world to see the spectacular Mayan fortress built high on a cliff above the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean Sea and to explore the jungles and cenotes surrounding the area.
Tulum beaches are known and celebrated as some of the most beautiful beaches in the world with their white powder sand that stays cool under the Mexican sun, the beautiful colors of the water that can only be described as Caribbean blue and some of the world’s best marine life.
The beaches of Tulum boast an amazing array of eco-chic hotels, secluded cabanas just a few steps from the ocean as well as restaurants that will entice and please any palate. The jungle and cenotes of Tulum are special treasures that continue to impress the thousands of visitors that come to Tulum every year.
Visitors that arrive in this small piece of paradise find themselves surrounded by loving and talented people that create a magical experience. Tulum is home to many gifted musicians, entertainers, massage therapists, yoga teachers, healers, and shamans.
During the retreat, you will be served daily meals that include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The meals are healthy, delicious, locally sourced, freshly prepared, primarily gluten, dairy, and sugar free. Coffees, teas, and snacks are available as well.
There will be scheduled free time every day in case you want a service from Life Source Retreats Spa and Beyond menu, a one-on-one session with one of the amazing instructors, meet with the doctor of integrative medicine, watch the stars, the moon, the sunrise, go for a swim, walk, bike ride, shop, or just relax and read a book under a palm tree.
Please book your flight to arrive at Cancun International Airport (CUN). Life Source Retreats can arrange reliable and comfortable private airport pickup or dropoff. The price for one or two persons is 125 USD one way and 240 USD round trip. The price for three to four persons is 140 USD one way and 270 USD round trip.
Having a private, air-conditioned car can be far more relaxing and time-saving, and removes any issues of negotiating the price with a regular taxi. You know what the price will be up-front, and there will be no stops between the airport and where you are going (unless you want or need to stop somewhere), which is something you are likely to face with the resort shuttles. If you are willing to share the ride, the cost will drop depending on how many people are in the car.
Upon leaving the airport terminal, look for the ADO booth where you can purchase your ticket to Playa del Carmen. One-way tickets are 15 to 18 USD. The bus will take you to the terminal in Playa del Carmen. Get off in Playa then buy another ticket to Tulum. You will pass the ruins, but don’t get off there; get off at the ADO station in “el centro”.
From the ADO station in “el centro”, take a taxi to the hotel. Taxi prices from town to different hotels along the beach road vary. You may negotiate the fee with the taxi driver before you get in, but it will cost around 10 USD.
This is the most expensive option, but will also make things easy as they will take you from the airport to the hotel entrance. Approximate cost is 150 to 200 USD.
