Each room is decorated in the old world Mexican colonial tradition with hand carved furnishings with king, queen, or double beds. All guest rooms include bathrooms adorned with hand painted Mexican talavera tile. In the evenings, a romantic wood burning fireplace can be lit upon request. These rooms are surrounded by terraces, with views of desert and tropical gardens with ocean vistas and soothing afternoon breezes. Walk out onto the poolside gazebo, sunbathe, or relax in the comfort of chaise lounges, and find true tranquility.

Classes will range from powerful and strengthening, to deeply relaxing and restoring. During active practice, key muscle groups will be realigned and strengthened, focusing on basic postures and breathing. The yoga asanas, or postures, are designed to peel back the residue of your daily lives and reconnect you to the primal flow of energy occurring naturally within you.
During restorative practice, the body is supported by bolsters and other props so that muscle activity can be surrendered and the benefits of the postures can happen passively as guided meditation helps the nervous system shift gears into the relaxation response, slowing the brain waves to a healing alpha or theta frequency.
Sound healing uses the power of sound and vibration to restore one's body, mind, and spirit to a sense of balance and harmony. Imagine receiving a gentle bath of sounds. Your relaxation deepens as your body and heart soak in the subtle vibrations of instruments and singing moving over and around you. Sound is medicine for your whole being.
Naturalists from around the world are attracted to the area’s sheer diversity; desert flora and fauna, mangrove estuaries, and the coastal shorelines make up the intriguing terrain. The area provides nesting sites and migratory habitat for about 210 bird species and a number of endemic species, including the world's largest cactus, black-tailed jack rabbit, ground squirrel, and a variety of reptiles. Valleys covered in the thousands of desert plant varieties lead to ravines and streambeds, the site of a primitive cave, and gorge paintings and carvings.
The unique alluvial plains, dramatic cliffs, and waterside wonders make Azul de Cortez and the Baja California Peninsula a flourishing tropical ecosystem. Explore 10,000 acres of private, pristine coastline, breathtaking trails, and mountain pools.
Rancho Las Cruces provides a fleet of sea kayaks and stand up paddle boards that you can take exploring. These water toys are a great way to get up close and personal with the diverse and exciting sea life.
Every year between late December and mid-March, thousands of gray whales make their annual migration through the Pacific Ocean. It is a spectacular event. During these months, it is possible to see these magnificent creatures and experience one of the world’s most memorable wildlife adventures.
You will also get the chance to swim with whale sharks.
This retreat will take place at Hotel Rancho Las Cruces in Mexico. This historic hotel is an exclusive Baja seaside beach resort located on a natural sanctuary of more than 10,000 acres and seven miles of private pristine coastline. It is situated along the white sandy beaches of the Sea of Cortez. Gaze across the Sea of Cortez to the enchanted Isla Cerralvo, once known to the Spanish conquistadors as the island of pearls.
Unique marine life has created a thriving ecosystem; smaller microorganisms attract the diverse small fish, which then attract larger game fish. Between the waters themselves and the hundreds of islands within, the Sea of Cortez and nearby lagoon Magdalena Bay are active home, birthing, and nesting sites for a large number of marine mammals, birds, and fish, some of which you can only find here. Blue whales, humpback whales, California gray whales, orcas, manta ray, and leatherback sea turtles migrate annually to the area and it is not unlikely to spot a vaquita porpoise speeding alongside your boat or kayak.
Rancho Las Cruces' chefs create delicious, healthy, and customized meals. The menu changes daily integrating a variety of Baja’s freshest fare. Most of the ingredients are procured right here on the property’s huerta, where vegetables and fruits are cultivated and picked daily for your enjoyment. Whatever your request may be, the kitchen staff will be happy to help satisfy the craving.
