The Kranti Yoga School Village is located in the heart of Patnem. It is a 5000 square meter area that has access both to the beach and the roadside. The village comprises of 2 campuses: Moksha located closest to the beach and Sattva is our Garden Campus. Our cottages are available exclusively for our guests. There are several options to suit your requirements, as it is important to ensure that you are comfortable in order that you can relax. Moksha houses 32 deluxe Ocean cottages, 2 beachfront cottages and 8 Beachfront Bijou cottages. Another 17 cottages are located in Sattva including our budget 4-Share Dorms.

All cottages are fully equipped with everything you will need to make yourself feel at home. Each cottage has its own porch, hammock and swinging chair. Here you can sit, relax and enjoy a drink or snack from the on-site Ayurveda Indian kitchen whether you are overlooking the ocean or within the garden. The Yoga Village is decorated with twinkling lights and colorful muslin. Swinging beds await your enjoyment along with many other cozy places to take chai, study, chat, sunbathe - the choice is yours. Many of these places are fitted with fans to keep you cool during the midday heat.

The village has an ecofriendly solar power supply, providing hot water and electricity throughout the day. Facilities also include washing machines for your laundry, beach towels, cleaning things for you to maintain your room and housekeeping services. Cottages are available on a single/double or sharing basis.

From time to time we all deserve a little time to ourselves. A yoga holiday is the ideal way to relax and unwind in the comfort of the village, taking yoga classes as and when you want to. The yoga class schedule will allow you to reinvigorate, restore and relax your body and mind while still giving you the flexibility of spending your spare time as you please.

Whether you're an early bird or you'd like to take the time to catch up on some much needed sleep, the class times can be flexible to cater to your needs. You have the option of an early morning pranayama and meditation class before your practice, where you will learn and apply techniques in a comfortable and relaxed small class setting. Afterwards, or if you are just waking up, you can decide between two different morning classes. Your Ashtanga-led Modified or Slow flow class will last for 90 minutes and regardless of your ability, one of the teachers will guide you through each posture with patience and grace and you will be encouraged to push your own boundaries and follow the rhythm of your own mind and body.

These will help you build strength and flexibility in your practice. Afternoon classes are more focused on providing a safe, nourishing space to help you gently relax and turn your focus inward with Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow. You can choose which classes you attend by creating a package suited to your needs

During the day, you are free to relax, unwind or the more adventurous can explore this beautiful part of India. With everything from the spice farms to local waterfalls, dolphin spotting, Hindu temples and cooking classes, there is definitely something for everyone. The staff would be more than happy to recommend some magical places to see and the shala hosts a day trips board with further suggestions.

  • Kranti (Tarun) Agrawal

    Tarun Agrawal, founder and director of The Kranti Yoga Village, was born in 1980 in Chhattisgarh, Middle India. Following a family tradition, at the age of 9, he frequented a guru named Sant Chana Baba for meditation and yogic spiritual talks. Chana Baba was an old Tantra Master living in a temple located on Shakti Mountain. He gave Tarun his spiritual name, Kranti, meaning revolution. It is no surprise that this has therefore become the name of his successful business, a yoga school with accommodation, on Patnem Beach, Goa.

  • Dhira Krishna

    Dhira Krishna Rupa Das is currently serving as a preacher and counselor in Goa. He conducts regular courses of Bhagavat Gita and Srimad Bhagwatam in English and Hindi in different parts of Goa. He has acquired Bhaktishastri, a certified course based on the teachings of Bhagavat Gita. He joined ISKCON (The International Society for Krishna Consciousness) full time in 2007 in Goa and has been initiated by H. H. Radhanath Swami Maharaj. Dhira joins The Kranti Yoga Team to teach philosophy, in particular to teach yoga In Gita.

Kranti Yoga is located in the magical Patnem Beach, South Goa. Unlike other parts of Goa Patnem Beach has retained its peacefulness and natural charm despite growing numbers of tourists to the area. The closest airport is Dabolim (Goa) Airport and the journey to us is just over an hour. Patnem beach itself is lined with bars, restaurants and beach hut accommodations. The hospitality of the Patnem locals awaits you. Choose from the many dining options that offer international cuisine from all corners of the globe, as well as traditional Goan Curries, seafood specialties and the popular Vegan delights. It is ideal for those who enjoy harmony between beach life, yoga and relaxed dinners with friends. It is definitely a tradition to watch the phenomenal sunsets on the beach during your yoga teacher training, yogis regularly walk and run this beach and participate in lighthearted acro-yoga during the downing of the sun.

If you are looking for some evening entertainment, you are not far away from the tourist hub of Palolem. Here you will find more night-time activities, sometimes a welcome alternative to the quietness and early nights of Patnem. Palolem is only 5 minutes away from the shala and can be reached by rickshaw. %Alternatively, 5 minutes in the other direction you will find the fabulous local location of Chaudi. Here you will find a more traditional Indian experience with local fresh food and seafood markets, chai stands, supermarket, pharmacy.

In the shala, you will be served all meals throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner) 7 days a week. (Students often choose to eat out on Sunday as a treat for their day off). There are also snacks, fruits, fresh juices, coconuts, Ayurvedic teas, Herbal and Chai teas and purified water available. %All meals are served buffet-style in our outdoor dining hall giving you a range of options for you to choose from. Kranti Yoga promotes a healthy diet and the foods served are freshly prepared for you daily. We have a kitchen on site with wonderful cooks, who will delight you a large array of Traditional Indian specialties combined with a blend of western favourites. The kitchen is at your service and ready to accommodate all your dietary requirements, whatever they may be. The meals are strictly vegetarian and the kitchen is easily able to cater for vegan, lactose intolerant, gluten free and other diets. If there is something you need or crave, they will always try to help. If you miss a meal, the cooks will always rustle something up for you. There is never a need to be hungry. All food is sourced locally and the menu will consist of seasonal fruit and vegetables.The groceries are bought from nearby markets and stores in order to support the local community.

Outside of the Shala, you will find a range of restaurants and cafes serving a host of tasty and healthy choices. You can choose from traditional Indian dishes or pick from a rich international menu that is widely available in most restaurants. The food in Patnem and neighbouring Palolem is some of the finest cuisine on offer in Goa. Patnem is renowned for a high standard of hygiene.

Arrival by airplane

You will be flying into Goa International Airport (GOI), also known as Dabolim Airport. You can fly directly from Europe, UK and USA with Qatar Airways. The closest Airport to us is Dabolim (Goa) Airport. Taxis can be arranged from the Airport upon request. Experienced local drivers are used for all of our pickups, they are patient in case of delays and know exactly where to drop you off (particularly helpful for overnight arrivals!) Alternatively, there are set price taxis available at the counter on arrival in Goa Airport.

Arrival by bus

There are plenty of options for arrival by bus in case you want to save money or want to experience local Goan transport. You can catch a bus from KTC bus station in Margao directly to Patnem Beach. It is also possible to reach Goa by Volvo / deluxe / semi-deluxe buses from Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore.

Arrival by train

If you would like to arrive by train you can reach Goa by train from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochin, Mysore and Pune. The closest stop is “Canacona” which is located in Chaudi
