The retreat house is located in San Juan, an antique coconut plantation situated at the heart of Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka’an. You will enjoy privacy and freedom surrounded by nature at the sandy and pristine waters of the Mexican Caribbean. The property features fresh coconut water from the palms onsite, kayaks, hammocks, a private beach, and a lagoon. There will be staff 24/7 for your convenience. This property sits right on the beach in a secluded area. It is a good distance from the city of Tulum and the energy is magical.

Kiva Tulum Yoga Retreat Program

Overview

Dive deep into yoga meditation, Ayurvedic cooking, and plant medicines to explore deeper aspects of your true self and nature. In the end, you will take home the tools necessary to continue training your mind and other aspects of your being. This retreat is meant to act as a guide and is subject to change. Kiva Yoga believes in creating a space for co-creation to that flows with each moment.

Ayurveda

You will take an assessment of yourself to determine your prominent dosha and specific constitution. You may keep a journal of how you feel each day according to what you ate and take time to practice self-love, whatever that looks like for you. Recipes will be shared and you will have a better understanding of what you need to feel your best.

Yoga meditation

Grasp a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts and techniques that allow you to journey inward. Each day, you will explore a pillar of yoga meditation and practice. As you learn to observe, accept, understand, and train your minds, you will use plant medicine to help you release blockages and open the gate to the center of consciousness.

Plant medicine

Ancient and indigenous cultures around the world have documented and passed down ceremonies using plants since the beginning of time. Plant medicine is used for healing and communicating with nature. Through these practices, you will learn how to tap into the sacred medicine, spirit, essence, and guidance of the plants.

Krystal Ariel
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 (Vinyasa Yoga)
Krystal teaches Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yin and Yang styles of yoga. She received her training with Fred Busch Power Yoga in 2013 and studies Ayurvedic medicine through the works of Dr. Vasant Lad and Swami Sada Shiva Tirtha. She applies the wisdom of Ayurveda to food, medicinal teas, and plant medicine. She is full of love and nurturing vibes, creating a safe space for bodywork and healing.
Israel Pasos
Israel studied Mysore style Ashtanga yoga under Matt Champoux in San Francisco and studies yoga science under Swami Jnaneshvara, a master of the Himalayan meditation tradition. He delights in the philosophies of Buddhism, Taoism, and the yogi way. He is a mover of subtle energy and facilitator in the process of reaching the center of consciousness.

Retreat Ort

The name Tulum means “trench” or “wall” in Mayan. This magical place was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the ancient Mayans. Tulum is rich in beach and ocean life, Mayan ruins, lush jungles, and natural attractions, such as the majestic cenotes.

The location of this retreat is near the beach and close to nature. There's also a jungle, forest, and island in this location. You will be staying in the biosphere reserve just outside of Tulum. It's called the Sian Ka'an, where heaven is born.
