During this retreat, you will stay at the Magnolia Hotel Denver, a boutique property located in downtown Denver. The hotel, which was formerly the American National Bank building, boasts historical charm with modern finishes. Each of the 297 renovated guest rooms and suites offers premium amenities such as flat screen high-definition televisions, complimentary standard internet access, modern work areas, and contemporary conveniences.

This retreat combines outdoor adventures, fitness, and yoga. The fitness on this retreat will be a balance of mobility work, yoga, and high-intensity interval training. The higher intensity workouts will be a mix of body weight calisthenics and plyometrics, some sprinting, and some strength training. Although often be ignored, the mobility component is still important because it will teach you how to properly prep and recover your body to perform at its peak without taking a high risk of injury. The sessions include rolling, yoga, and other amazing techniques.

Most of the retreat activities will take you outside of the city for rock climbing, hiking, and special workouts in beautiful locations like the Red Rocks Amphitheater! In addition, you will have plenty of time to relax and to check out some local craft breweries that the town (and state) is known for.

In this retreat, a group meet or happy hour before the trip is encouraged. Community vibe with group workouts, activities, and meals will also be fostered. You will feel right at home with your fellow travelers after the first meeting. You can choose to spend free time relaxing and recharging on your own as well. It should be noted that the itinerary is subject to change.

Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Friday, October 20, 2017

Welcome to Colorado! You will kick off the retreat with a casual orientation and the first group fitness class to wake up your body after traveling all day! In the evening, you will start to explore the city of Denver and get to know each other at a group dinner at a local restaurant. If anyone is up for it, the group will grab a local craft beer and listen to some live music before heading to bed.

Day 2 - Saturday, October 21, 2017

After a restful night, you will wake up invigorated and excited to explore the great outdoors! Your morning will kick off with a workout at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater where concerts and fitness events are prevalent. Later, you will grab lunch in the town of Golden and take some time to check out the area.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a beautiful hike while stopping for some mobility stretches and yoga along the way. Then, you will have some free time to walk around and explore. The evening is reserved for enjoying dinner with the group in different part of the city.

Day 3 - Sunday, October 22, 2017

Wake up to fresh air and excitement as it is a bucket list kind of day! You are going on a rock climbing expedition which is perfect for all levels. The outing will start with safety information and a lesson and then you will spend time practicing your climbing skills with certified guides while taking lots of photos of course.

In the afternoon, enjoy some much needed free time to relax a bit or check out another part of the city. You will regroup in the early evening for a mobility / stretch class that is focused on the muscles that you worked while climbing. After the class, you will enjoy a dinner as a group and reflect on the retreat that has come and gone too quickly. Perhaps you will go on an impromptu craft brewery crawl to sip your way through the city in celebration of the weekend.

Day 4 - Monday, October 23rd

On the final morning of the retreat, you will wake up to your last workout of the retreat. The retreat will be officially over at this point but depending on flight times, the group may decide to go for a morning hike, sign up for a bike tour of Denver, or just head to the airport. You will probably want to soak up as much of the fresh air in the Mile-High City as possible!

    Julia is a coach and a nutritional consultant who specializes in sports performance and body composition. She started as a certified yoga instructor and then developed a reputation at some of Manhattan’s elite boutique training facilities, including Epic Hybrid Training and TS Fitness. Julia is also the head of youth athletic trainer as well as CrossFit and Barbell Coach at CrossFit Spot. As an adult athlete, she has successfully competed in obstacle races, half marathons, body-building competitions, and most recently, Olympic weightlifting.

This retreat will take place in Denver, Colorado, USA. You will have an access to the city's culture, restaurants, and nightlife. The hotel you will be staying at, Magnolia Hotel Denver, is located at the heart of the city with restaurants and shops nearby. Uniquely, it is still close to the mountains for workouts and activities.

In this retreat, you will be served with daily delicious dinner. Complimentary milk and cookie bar will also be available each night.

At the end of the retreat, depending on your flight time, you can sign up for a bike tour of Denver.

    "I went on my first "fitcation" with Ketanga in Costa Rica. It was amazing!! We ran on the beach every morning during sunrise, followed by a TRX session in the sand. Every evening we would meet for another workout, and then in our downtime we just chilled on Costa Rica's beaches. We also did some group activities such as surfing and zip lining."
