Kaomai Lanna Hotel and Resort is a unique boutique accommodation on the route from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand. The rooms are renovated from the former tobacco curing barns and decorated in contemporary Lanna style, with colonial style teak wood antique furniture.
Kaomai Lanna comes from two northern Thai words. Kaomai means bush or a garden with big trees while Lanna is the name of the ancient northern Thai kingdom. Together Kaomai Lanna means the pleasant garden of Lanna
In the hotel's 20 acres' of natural land, a long age tropical green garden is preserved, which makes the resort perfect for an afternoon walk. Guests can also swim in the pleasant pool located in the midst of the greens or get relaxed by the resort's Thai professional masseurs. The hotel offers four types of accommodation: superior, deluxe, Kaomai deluxe, and duplex suite. All the rooms feature air-conditioned, Wi-Fi, cable television, minibar, laundry service, hairdryer, bathroom amenities, slippers, bathrobe, room service, and baby cot upon request.
Both superior and deluxe provide lower and upper-level rooms fully equipped with basic hotel facilities. Slightly smaller (35-38 square meters), the superior room provides only shower rooms while the deluxe room (38-42 square meters) offers separate shower room and bathtub. Both available with twins or double bed.
The Kaomai deluxe rooms feature the Thai tradition of sleeping on a twin or king size mattress on the teak wood floor. Additional to the basic hotel facilities, these rooms also offer separate bathtub and shower cabin.
Decorated to bring back the feeling of the tobacco curing eras, this suite is a two level room. The upper room has a bedroom with toilet, and downstairs there is a living room with high ceiling fan and a bathroom with shower room.
This retreat will take place in Sanpatong, a district of the Chiang Mai Province in northern Thailand. Sanpatong district was founded in the late seventh century and its northern language, culture, and traditions were inherited from generations to generations. The local temple is worth a visit as it has two main functions: a center for religious and community activities and a place that embodies and safeguards the community's cultural heritage.
This retreat includes daily Vegetarian breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Kaomailanna restaurant. This gorgeous tropical style restaurant serves delicious local northern cuisine. Enjoy a variety of Thai - Chinese menus and typical northern dishes served in pleasant surroundings with a forest-cooled, open-air, relaxed atmosphere. Herbs and vegetables are the mainstays of the resort's agricultural output and in between these old buildings are gardens of chilies, sweet basil, and countless other herbs capable of adding that famous bite to the sumptuous Thai and Lanna food served from the kitchen located in one of the old kilns in the resort.
