The literal translation of yoga is "union". Yoga is to forge the union between your body and your spirit. Your breath is the conduit or bridge between the two. During yoga, you cultivate that bridge. By deepening your awareness of your breath, you strengthen the connection between your body and spirit.
During this retreat, you will start your day with a gentle flow yoga and in the evening, you will practice Restorative yoga. You will also experience soundbath - a vibrational sound healing experience.
Alia Mai is a yoga teacher with a master's degree in social work and mental health, as well as a nutrition certification. She has been practicing and studying yoga for 12 years, in pursuit of ways to live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives. Her studies took her on a journey to her mother-land, India, where she lived and studied with her yoga and meditation teacher in 2009. Alia is passionate about yoga and meditation to gain both mental and physical strength and to overcome stress and anxiety.
Whitney Renee is a yoga teacher, writer, and activist. She is an anatomy geek who appreciates a good grammar joke and vintage vinyl. Through her outreach, she continues to combine her interests of therapeutic writing and meditative movement, while upholding the philosophy that yoga should be accessible to everyone. Whitney teaches Restorative yoga, Yin yoga, and Vinyasa flow. She cultivates a space for students to slow down, reconnect, and just be.
This retreat will take place in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
