During the retreat, you will stay at Costislost, Cornwall, UK. It is a listed 19th country lodge and 16th farmhouse, turned into contemporary retreat bed and breakfast. It has all the elements of a luxury escape with picture-perfect countryside views, spacious guest dining room, sitting room with huge log burner, yoga and meditation room, far-infrared sauna, and hot tub.

Upstairs, spacious en suite bedrooms blend original features with contemporary, beautiful, wide views, and four poster beds and Egyptian linen. Combined with large and luxury bathrooms with organic toiletries, soft towels, and candles, those facilities will ensure a truly calming and indulgent retreat.


Partridge is a beautiful room with large windows offering great views across the garden, rolling fields, and the countryside. It also captures the lovely morning sun. A large super king hand crafted four poster bed with a comfortable mattress gives a great night's sleep. It is equipped with spacious en suite facilities with a bath and separate shower. Tea making facilities with a selection of teas including herbal infusions are also available as well as free Wi-Fi.


Pheasant is pretty much a mirror of Partridge. It is a beautiful room with large windows offering great views across the garden, rolling fields, and the countryside. It is also equipped with spacious en suite facilities with a bath and separate shower. Snipe is a beautiful room with a large window offering a view across the courtyard and field beyond. Although this is one of the smallest rooms, it is still a good size with a large super king hand crafted four poster bed with a comfortable mattress giving a great night's sleep. The room has great en suite facilities with a shower only. Tea making facilities with a selection of teas including herbal infusions are also available as well as free Wi-Fi.


Woodcock is a stunning large and beautiful room with a great bay window offering great views across a rolling field and the countryside. It also captures the lovely evening sun. A large super king hand crafted four poster bed with a comfortable mattress gives a great night's sleep. It is equipped with an spacious en suite facility with a central bath with overhead shower. Tea making facilities with a selection of teas including herbal infusions are also available as well as free Wi-Fi.

Paleo yoga

Paleolithic inspired diet is a great place to start to find the diet that uniquely best suits you and enables you to achieve optimum health. The Paleo diet includes pastured and wild meat, fish, nuts, seeds, seasonal fruit, and vegetables.

There are many different takes on this type of diet and this retreat's approach includes the use of small amounts of grass fed organic meats, fish (especially oily fish), lots of seasonal vegetables, and fruit. Combined with Ashtanga yoga practice, this program will encourage you to have a healthy life.

Paleolithic diet

Jane Parker also understands that every single person is unique. It must have been similar in ancient times and a diet in Africa will have been very different to a diet in another corner of the world. Therefore, there are three lessons from Paleo times: there is no one correct diet as diversity is important, fresh with the emphasis on seasonal foods with the highest nutrient content are free from preservatives, and the whole foods avoid processed products that were introduced since the agricultural revolution.

Juice cleanse

Juice cleanse includes organic raw cold pressed juices.     Jane is a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT), the Complementary and Natural Health Council (CNHC) and is fully insured with Balens Insurance. As well as being strongly focused on the health benefits of good nutrition, she comes from a dynasty of cooks, being the fourth generation from a family catering business and an award winning chef. Jane is a strong Ashtanga yoga follower. As well as addressing her own health issues, she is now empowered to help other people and the power of the correct nutrition and lifestyle.

    Denise Christian has been authorised by the renowned Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute. She has been teaching yoga for nearly 15 years and prior to moving to Cornwall, she taught in London at the top traditional Ashtanga yoga shala in the UK (Ashtanga Yoga London) where she taught alongside one of Britain’s most senior Ashtanga Yoga teacher, Hamish Hendry.

The retreat will be held in Costislost, Cornwall, UK. Costislost lies in a gentle dip down and long track surrounded by woodland and nature. Its blissful setting makes it the ideal base for rejuvenating retreats, the perfect place to soak up the silence, gaze at the stars, and find peace. Close to Costislost, there are beaches nearby to relax or do surfing, classic historic houses to explore, vineyards to visit, gardens to meander through, and one of the finest coastal paths in the world to wander along.

During the retreat, you will be served daily organic meals following Paleolithic diet principles. Jane will be focusing the menus on gently detoxifying meals. These will include organic juices, vibrant salads, hearty soups and broths, local organic grass fed meats, fish, and seafood. Herbal teas and filtered water will be on tap. The weekend is alcohol and caffeine free.

The foods are packed with nutrients to support your yoga practice, make you feel energized and inspire you to make long standing changes to your diet and health. As an alternative to the Paleo diet, you can chose a vegetarian or vegan meal plan.

  • Take the B389 coming off at Bodmin towards Wadebridge.

Please book your flight to arrive at Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. The ride is about 20 minutes' drive and there are regular flights coming from London and other European airports in Germany and Spain.

    "I have had the most amazing life enhancing (if not changing) week of my life at Jane Parker's paleo and yoga retreat. Ill health and stress were getting on top of me and I knew that I needed a total break from my usual diet and routine. I had read that paleo diet is good for correcting autoimmune disease and this is what first attracted me to the retreat, I had also done some yoga so the retreat sounded like bliss. What I was not expecting was a total immersion in another world of holistic therapy and self discovery! Jane, supported by her family, has created a sanctuary in a fabulous old house which is grand on scale but intimate at the same time. I have to say I loved every bit of my therapy packed week, from the expert yoga tuition, delightful therapists (wonderful massages!), total relaxation of the meditation sessions to getting to know the other ladies who became soul mates for the week. This was topped of by Jane's superb food, smoothies and juices; I did not miss any of my usual foods one bit! Jane has helped me immensely and I know I always have someone to turn to who will support me and have my best interests at heart. I can't praise Jane and her husband Nick enough for the experience they have created. If you want a totally wonderful break from the stress of your day to day, be pampered inside and out, while stretching your body and mind then don't hesitate to book a retreat at Costislost!     "I was really looking forward to my week at Costislost on the Paleo and Yoga retreat, but I must admit that it went way beyond my expectations. I loved my room which was huge with a lovely 4 poster bed, the bathroom was also spacious and great for a relaxing bath. The house is stunning, with a lovely wood burning fire which we spent some happy times in front of. Jane spent lots of time with us and it was great to discuss both nutrition and other types of wellbeing. Several treatments were included in the week, which were lovely, plus extra treatments were available. Both the Ashtanga Yoga in the morning and the evening Hatha yoga were taught by lovely ladies, and I enjoyed both. I experienced my first Gong Meditation therapy which is also included. The food, juices and smoothies supplied by Jane were all delicious, and happily we came away with many of the recipe’s. "

    "It took me a long time to decide to go ahead with the Paleo/Yoga Retreat. I have an auto-immune condition (Hashimoto's Thyroiditis) and had read that eating a Paleo type diet may be a way to aid recovery. If I'm honest, the Paleo diet didn't appeal to me at all - I far prefer vegetarian foods. I finally decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did. It was a wonderful experience. The group was taken care of beautifully in every way. The rooms really are very lovely and luxurious. All details are taken care of, there are even tea lights (small candles) to place around the bath. The food was very special indeed - we all looked forward to the tasty meals on offer. There was much to learn from Jane about following healthy living that won't over tax the body with chemicals. We followed a plan of activities that had a nice balance of free time to do whatever you feel like. Non of the activities are compulsory and after three days of morning Ashtanga yoga, I decided to do 30 minutes of Hatha yoga in my room instead. This wasn't frowned upon in any way. We were encouraged to follow our instincts in terms of what our body needs. A couple of times I felt hungry about 3 hours before our next meal and Jane happily supplied healthy snacks. The evening finished with a meditation and again it was fine if we opted out, no pressure at all. We experienced Gong Meditation one day and that was fabulous! Also, the therapies in your own room were a great addition to the whole experience. Some therapies were included, with the option to book in extra treatments at a very reasonable cost. At the end of the week the whole group felt transformed and we vowed to return for a reunion. Whether the reunion happens or not, I think it's fair to say, it was a very special, successful and highly enjoyable week! "
