All trainees who successfully complete the course will receive an internationally recognized 200-hour yoga teacher certificate, accredited by Yoga Alliance giving them a teaching status to teach whatever style of yoga they love and practice.
With the Inspirayoga teaching certificate, it is possible to register as a RYT (registered yoga teacher) with yoga Alliance. Trainees are assessed continuously throughout the duration of the training. Attitude and commitment towards practice and teaching, personal accomplishment and progress, and the ability to understand, express and share the teachings are all considerations in deciding whether a trainee has successfully completed the course.
Inspirayoga is a collective of independent yoga teachers who devote their life to conscious living and sharing yoga teachings with others. Teachers that you meet at Inspirayoga Yoga share a common school of thought that yoga is a lifestyle, an attitude, and an ever present guide to a richer and fuller experience of oneself and the world one lives in. The emphasis is not 'what you are doing' but 'how you are doing it'. The focus is how one can integrate the yoga teachings into daily living, so life can become a more effortless and enjoyable flow. Inspirayoga brings together yoga lovers from different countries and backgrounds to share journeys of personal growth and transformation through yogic studies and practice.
Participants are collectively and individually encouraged to let go of the usual inhibitions and judgments that often restrict spiritual growth and evolution. The tears and laughter, joy and sadness, fears and love are encouraged to be expressed freely. The aspiration is to embody and embrace the spirit of yoga in ones everyday life.
This course is not just for people who want to teach yoga. The course allows you the time and space to take a break from your normal routine and touch base with the deeper levels of your Being. This is your chance to recalibrate every aspect of your life - how you live, what you eat, what you think, what you do, how you feel about yourself and how you feel about the world.
Inspirayoga feels that it is not so important how flexible, strong or energetic a student is. Many of us experience limitations in the form of varying energy levels, flexibility, injuries, etc. The yoga begins when we can meet those limitations with honesty, openness, focus, sensitivity, generosity and love. Inspirayoga has varying levels of physical attainment on the training and a broad range of ages. Their oldest student, who was also a yoga teacher, was 68 and she met all the demands and challenges of the training with no problem.
If you do have a passion to become a teacher, this course provides a supportive arena to access your inner guru. You can expect to build a strong foundation of confidence and skill, which will allow you to teach clearly and precisely from your own experience. This includes developing the teaching skills and hands-on adjustment skills that will make you a sensitive and competent teacher. On the other hand, if you are attending the course purely for self-development reasons then, you may surprise yourself at the end of the training, realizing that you have a lot to share with others as a teacher too.
Everybody who attends the training regardless of their initial reasons can expect to gain an increase in their confidence and skill as a yoga practitioner. And, you will discover and develop many new yoga disciplines and practices that will support you in all aspects of your life. Please note that the first class will be on Saturday, September 3 and the last class will be on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Upon departure day there will be no yoga class.
In asana, the sequencing for study and practice is based on a modified Ashtanga primary series and there will be Vinyasa Flow, Restorative and Hatha practices too. To honor their varying abilities and limitations there are modifications to the traditional primary series asanas and introductions to a greater variety of asanas and sequencing taught under an umbrella of spiritual content and guidance.
Inspirayoga feels that awareness is the fertile ground for transformation and the real essence of asana practice lies in connecting to the subtleties of the body, breath and mind. Instructions focus on leading the students into a deeper awareness, to feel and recognize whats going on inside their bodies, not just physically
Inspirayoga approach transmitted to trainees is one of clear and effective instruction to increase awareness and sensitivity empowering students to deepen into a safe and beneficial practice. Moving through an asana practice is not the inhale do this and exhale do that often experience in many Ashtanga classes - this does little to enhance a students self-development and individual progress. Asana classes taught on Inspirayoga trainings, incorporate practical instruction and spiritual guidance.
The method we use provides a simple approach, practice and understanding of some basic principles, which make asana practice safe and effective. Awareness and sensitivity act as the fertile ground upon, which the fundamentals can be cultivated.
The main focus is to guide students towards deepening into self-practice. Inspirayoga facilitates a space whereby, each person is invited to nurture their own unique individuality and explore what works for them. During the training, students are supported to deepen their understanding and sensitivity, learning how to navigate safely and effectively through a self-practice, being able to skillfully respond to what they are feeling in each and every moment. Whether you are new to self-practice or have been practicing solo for a long time, the training will help you to develop greater spontaneity and become more explorative in your practice.
During the training, you get plenty of time to develop teaching skills through teaching practice and coaching from the Tribe teachers. Each week, there are teaching assessments, so you can appreciate and monitor your progress and growth. By the end of the training, you are able to create your own sequence and structure for a 75-minute yoga class, which you can immediately teach others, when you venture back out into the world.
Pranayama can open the doors to the possibility of transcending physical and emotional blocks, thereby accessing and connecting to the more subtle aspects of our being. The pranayama program includes a broad range of techniques that present a gradual, yet deep exploration of the power of the breath.
The meditation program is a combination of guided and silent practices that are an invitation to cultivate the awareness and stillness that is the hallmark of all spiritual practices. Inspirayoga teaches a diverse selection of techniques including breath awareness, mantra, music and dynamic meditation.
At inspirayoga, the ancient teachings of the east are taught in a modern way suitable for the western mind so students can flourish in their practice and naturally gravitate to a more yogic lifestyle. They have no bias to any particular spiritual teachings and teach in a non-dogmatic way, which embraces many spiritual traditions and paths.
The main body of teachings for their philosophical talks and studies is the yoga sutras of Patanjali. Tribe Yoga focuses on the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga, which supports and illuminates the understanding of what yoga is and how to practice. They like to think that the real teachings come from all those who participate in the training discussing, sharing, exploring and debating yoga practice and yogic lifestyle in the animated philosophical sessions that take place each week.
Kriyas are the cleansing practices of Hatha yoga that support health and hygiene but more importantly cleanse the practitioner on a physical, energetic, emotional and mental level. The beginners kriya practices are optional. Students can decide for themselves after the theory, if they wish to practice kriyas on a daily basis.
We eat for energy and we need to recognize that yoga is a practice, which generates and direct energy in specific ways. The food we eat has a powerful and profound effect on all levels of our being. It is not unusual for yoga students to plateau in their practice and often diet is a major factor in stalling ones spiritual evolution. In the level 1 training, fasting and detoxing practices are not compulsory. Students are always encouraged to listen to the theory and then decide for themselves, if they want to participate.
Restorative classes are a great opportunity to recalibrate the body and establish a deep sense of release and relaxation on all levels of ones being. In the training, it is also an opportunity to explore how to use props to support students deeper into stability, stillness and comfort.
The practice of Bhakti yoga, devotional chanting and singing, is a beloved practice of Tribe trainings. The teachers have a passion for Bhakti yoga and are able to transmit their enthusiasm and own devotion and love for the divine to the trainees in such a profound way. Hearts open and those present often find themselves in amazing sublime states of consciousness.
Yoga Nidra can be a very powerful and profound practice to support practitioners on the path of personal growth and spiritual development. Its a practice that if done on a regular basis can help us to break free of the conditioned mind and allow us to connect to the most subtle realms of our being in an awake state. Yoga Nidra theory and practice is part of the level 1 program.
The Alpujarras is a fabulous area for hiking, whether you are interested in high altitude treks in the peaks of the Sierra Nevada, many of which are over 3000 metres or casual meandering around the fascinating villages of the high Alpujarra. The paths are well sign-posted and are often old mule tracks - so the steepness is no more than a loaded mule can manage! The area is never crowded with walkers and you can often be out in the mountains all day and encounter no more than a shepherd with his flock.
Raquel Salvador was born in Spain in 1973. She moved to London in 1999 where she became interested in yoga and began practicing in many different schools in and around London. Seeking to deepen her knowledge of yoga, she undertook a 12-month teacher training course in 2007 in London with the intention of teaching her passion for yoga to others. In her teaching, she translates her personal understandings with a fresh and relaxed approach, with the intention of awakening the students self-wonder and providing a framework for a lifetime inquiry process and learning.
Mark has been teaching yoga since 1995 and is recognized as one of the first Ashtanga yoga teachers to settle and teach regular classes in the UK. From 1996, Mark spent 12 years as a senior teacher at the prestigious LifeCentre in west London. He now teaches on retreats, workshops, and teacher training courses in worldwide destinations including UK, Spain, Thailand, and India. Mark is the author of the book Yoga for Beginners which was published in 1997. It's one of the early yoga books written offering an introduction to Ashtanga yoga.
The venue Cortijo caseria del mercado is a traditional Spanish country house surrounded by its own land. It is not really what we think of as a "farm" in Northern Europe although it is self-sufficient most of the year. There is a swimming pool and different indoor and outdoor eating spaces. We've run many yoga intensives and TTC´s in the Cortijo and we find that the place itself and the surroundings are very conducive for yogic living, the energy is so beautiful.
Cortijo is located in the middle of the Alpujarras, very close to Trevelez which is an area known for its clean fresh mountain air, herbal plant life, and and relaxing natural environments. It's very popular amongst alternative communities of respectful harmonious living with the environment, the climate, and the peace of the area.
The venue has its own market garden with organic seasonal vegetables and fruit trees dotted around the land. It also has a small goat herd for milk, horses, peacocks etc. The lands is extensive enough for people to find their own solitude if required.
There are several toilets and 5 fully equipped bathrooms to be share with 12 more students. We also have 2 washing machines
There is a bus from the local village of Castaras (15 mins walk) to the town of Orgiva 30 minutes away. Castaras does not have any shops but it does have 2 inexpensive tapas bars where you can eat snacks and relax.
Granada is over an hour away if you want to shop or visit a Spanish city.The nearest beach is just over an hour away.
Yogic breakfast is included, smoothies, fruit, cereals and vegetable milks.
The rest of the meals will be self catered this means you will have to do certain amount of shopping for yourselves although some fruits, oil, cheese, vegetables would be available fresh on the farm. There is a large communal kitchen and 3 smaller kitchens, where students can prepare their own meals. A budget of about 30 to 50 EUR per week for food is recommended. Cooking your own meals in a relax environment, taking the time to listen to your bodies can teach you what foods are are good for you. It will even boost your creativity as you learn to combine nutritious foods to satisfy your palate!
Day trip to Granada:
Granada is a magical city, The Alhambra is the most visited monument in Spain and is of indescribable beauty.
It is both a palace and a fortress surrounded by walls and was the residence of the Nasrid sultans between the 13th and 15th centuries.
Its palaces, towers, royal apartments and gardens show the splendour that Granada attained during the Nasrid dynasty.
It is a must to visit the Alhambra during your stay in Granada.

You can fly into either Malaga Airport (AGP) or Federico García Lorca Airport (GRX) in Granada.
From both of them you can take a national bus into the beautiful village Orgiva. You will be picked you up at the bus stop in Orgiva - Calle Estación 12, 18400 Órgiva.
Buses between Granada or Malaga and the Alpujarra are run by Alsa. There are several buses daily.
