During this yoga retreat, you will be staying in various accommodations including Castle Kalwar from night one to three, Fort-Palace Madhogarh from night four and five, Hotel Mahal Khandela from night six to seven, and Castle Khandela on night eight before going back to Hotel Mahal Khandela for the ninth night.
Located in one of the finest and quietest residential areas of Jaipur, Mahal Khandela is a beautiful boutique hotel featuring cozy air-conditioned guestrooms with modern amenities, a restaurant, and an outdoor swimming pool. Mahal Khandela Hotel is 1.5 kilometers from Jaipur Railway Station and the bus stand. The hotel is 18 kilometers from Jaipur International Airport (JAI) and has easy access to the business as well as tourist places of the Pink City.
Khandela Mahal Jaipur is well appreciated for its well-mannered staffs, with gentle smile and service. Besides the local Rajasthani traditions dishes of, the Mahal also has a unique specialty. Facilities include lots of common areas and terrace, roof top sun bathing areas, free Wi-Fi connectivity, travel desk, air-conditioned restaurant, swimming pool, well decorated fully air-conditioned rooms with modern and clean toilets.
Mahal Khandela has 27 rooms, comprising 10 double and 17 twin-bedded. Out of these are super deluxe and 12 deluxe. The rooms are very well vented with AC and with telephone connections, embellished with engraved stone balconies. The rooms have larger attached bathrooms with hot and cold running water. All the floors have large and wide verandahs to relax and enjoy the sun without its harshness.
The location will be at Castle Kalwar. From 06:30 to 08:30, on the roof-top of lovely Castle Kalwar and with the lush green hills in the background, India Heritage & Culture Tours' renowned yoga and meditation teacher would introduce you to various yoga asana and meditation and how to perform them. You will enjoy breakfast of fresh juices, fruit, yogurt, sprouted beans, and hand-grounded porridge with organic milk.
From 09:30 to 13:30, you will take a thrilling jeep safari through the villages of Kalwar. You can visit a low-cost school and interact with the children and teachers of the school. You will distribute fruits provided by India Heritage & Culture Tours to the students. You will see happiness lit large on their faces on seeing and being photographed with you. Then, you will return to Castle Kalwar for lunch. You can enjoy a swim in the pool.
From 15:00 to 17:00, Jaipur's famous Ayurvedic doctor Mahendra Sharma would hold a session on Ayurveda, India's 5000-year-old science of wellness, on its enormous benefits. After the session, you will see mesmerizing folk dances on the lawns of the castle, now beautifully lighted up. Dinner and overnight will be at the castle.
From 06:30 to 08:30, under the watchful eyes and instructions of the trainer, you will learn to perform selected asana and meditation. After a nutritious breakfast, you will leave for a half day excursion of Jaipur, visiting the magnificent Fort Amer, the City Palace and Museum, Albert Hall, Hawa Mahal, and the Palace of Winds. Lunch will be at boutique heritage hotel Mahal Khandela, owned and operated by the scions of the royal family of Khandela.
You will return to Castle Kalwar for a rejuvenating massage called Abhyanga. In this therapy, the whole body is massaged with special Ayurvedic oils. It tones the body, improves blood circulation, and restores energy. You will be seated around the pool to learn from Dr. Sharma the long-term benefits of Abhyanga. Before dinner, you will see a puppet show. Overnight will be at Castle Kalwar.
From 06:30 to 08:30, you will perform yoga and meditation on the roof-top of Castle Kalwar. After breakfast, you will take an excursion to Sanganer to see Jaipur's world-famous craftsmen and women making hand-block printed scarves, beds, and table linens. This place is also known the world over for making products from recycled paper. Lunch will be at the fabulous Narain Niwas Palace, Jaipur. You will return to Castle Kalwar for the shirodhara Ayurvedic massage. This massage or therapy is great for deep relaxation and to help insomnia, anxiety, and mental stress. You will have barbecue and dinner by the castle pool. Overnight will be at the castle.
From 06:30 to 08:30, you will have yoga and meditation sessions at the castle. After breakfast, you will check out from the castle and head for 200-year-old Fort-Palace Madhogarh, located 80 kilometers away. This fort perches on a hill with lush greenery all around and offers a perfect setting for a joyous stay, yoga, and meditation.
After lunch, you will take an excursion to Chand Baori, an awesome 11th-century step-well. This step-well on the famous Silk Route served as a resting place for traders and cattle herders. Opposite the step-well is the 11th-century temple dedicated to Harsh Mata, the Goddess of Happiness. You will be blessed by her. At Sikandra, you will see the superb craftsmanship of artisans chiseling marble and red stone to make products such as fountains, doors, statues, and railings. Dinner and overnight will be at Fort-Palace Madhogarh.
From 06:30 to 08:00, you will perform yoga and meditation at Fort-Palace Madhogarh. After breakfast, you will take an excursion to Pushkar, the temple town sacred to the Hindus. You will take a walking tour of the lakes in the town. You will see a memorable Aarti being performed to Lord Brahma. Lunch will be at Phool Mahal Palace, by the lake of the Maharaja of Kishangarh, a town famous for its 16th-century miniature paintings collectively known the world over as Kishangarh school of paintings. You will see artists reproducing these lovely paintings on silk cloth or paper in a studio located at the magnificent Fort Kishangarh.
You will return to Fort Madhogarh and take the patra swedan Ayurvedic massage. This therapy uses cotton pouches filled with different herbs soaked in oil to massage the body. It is wonderful for joint and muscular pains and a good blood circulation. Barbecue, dinner, and overnight will be at the fort.
From 06:30 to 08:30, you will have yoga and meditation sessions at the fort. After breakfast, you will leave for Jaipur city and check into boutique heritage Hotel Mahal Khandela. This hotel is owned and operated by your hosts, KV Singh and his wife Rudrani Singh. After lunch, you will learn from Rudrani Singh some delectable dishes that make for wholesome food. She will tell you about the uses and benefits of various spices and condiments. You will help her in the stone grinding of spices and cooking with various unrefined oils and discover for yourself how tasty and healthful such preparations can be. You will enjoy gala dinner on the rooftop of Hotel Mahal Khandela where soulful classical music will be played for you by a famous local troupe. Overnight will be at Hotel Mahal Khandela.
From 06:30 to 08:30, you will have yoga and meditation on the rooftop of Hotel Mahal Khandela. After breakfast, there will be a one-to-one session with a meditation teacher from the Brahma Kumaris Ashram on rediscovering yourself and how one can lead a life of fulfillment. You can visit the colorful bazaars of Jaipur, the jewelers and spice markets. You can take a cycle rickshaw ride in the inner lanes of the city.
Lunch will be at Hotel Mahal Khandela. In the afternoon, you will take an excursion to see Samod Palace that has exquisite mirror work on the walls, doors, and ceilings. You will return to Hotel Mahal Khandela for dinner and overnight stay.
From 06:30 to 08:00, you will have yoga and meditation at Hotel Mahal Khandela. After breakfast, you will leave for Khandela, a town situated in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Shekhawati is world famous for its havelis (mansions) that have beautiful frescoes on their entrances, walls, and ceilings depicting marriage processions, village life, erotica, and battle scenes. Lunch will be en route to Khandela Resort and Safari Camp in Village Thikariya. You will check in at Castle Khandela, walk through the colorful town and excursions around to see the beautiful havelis. Dinner and overnight will be at Castle Khandela.
From 06:30 to 08:00, you will perform yoga and meditation at Castle Khandela. After breakfast, you will take a bullock-cart ride around the villages of Khandela and see more frescoes on the mansions of Shekhawati. You will return to Hotel Mahal Khandela in Jaipur. Lunch will be at the hotel. In the afternoon, the priests will perform a sacred havan for you for your good health, happiness, and prosperity. Drinks, barbecue, and farewell dinner will be at your tour hosts' Hotel Mahal Khandela. Overnight will be at the hotel.
You will leave for home after breakfast.
