O Casarão

O Casarão boasts a castle-like wall and offers spectacular sunset views over the beaches of Azeda, Ossos, and Armação. Inside, you will find a beautiful dining and entertainment area, five luxurious private rooms, and a serene yoga room. Surrounded by a beautiful wood deck, the enormous outdoor area overlooks a mesmerizing infinity pool very conducive for relaxation.

There is also a gazebo with comfortable sofas, wooden deck equipped with Brazilian charcoal barbeque (or churrascaria), and a wood-fired pizza oven that offer unique culinary opportunities to enjoy and indulge the senses.   • Bella Bablumian

    Behavioral psychologist, international health specialist, and wellness expert by training, Bella specializes in holistic wellness, functional nutrition, and evolutionary fitness. She holds her Master´s in International Health Policy and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor´s in health psychology from the University of California in Los Angeles. Her career spans work as a personal trainer and a wellness consultant with individuals to a senior advisor and project manager for international institutions on health policy, behavioral change interventions, and healthcare issue.

  • Shula Melamed

    Shula holds an M.A. in Psychology from the New School University and an M.P.H. in Sexuality and Health from Columbia University, where her thesis examined the role of pleasure in health interventions. In her relationship coaching practice she works with individuals, couples, and groups looking to identify and address challenges in their intimate lives head on, exploring issues related to sexuality and pleasure. She has also worked as a Behavioral Health Coach helping individuals with lifestyle changes.

This retreat will be situated in João Fernandes, one of the most exclusive areas of Buzios, on an ocean peninsula east of Rio de Janeiro. It is known as an upscale vacation destination with numerous beaches. These include Ferradura, on a calm horseshoe bay with water sports, and Geribá, a popular surfing site. Among its village streets, cobbled Rua das Pedras is a center of dining and nightlife.

You will be served with delightful breakfast provided by Blue Ocean, gourmet lunch, and complimentary healthy juice, with carefully selected locally-sourced natural foods, including raw and fermented options. Meet and learn from Rose Ribeiro, an inspiring chef and raw culinary arts specialist, and learn the magic of turning healthy and healing food into gourmet dishes that excite the senses.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Umberto Modiano Airport (BZC) or Rio de Janeiro–Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport (GIG).

Arrival by bus

The bus ride from Rio to Buzios takes approximately three hours, but can take much longer if traffic is bad. Cost is 60 to 85 BRL each way depending on time of day. Buses to Buzios depart from Rodoviaria Novo Rio (main bus station). "1001" is the only bus company between Rio and Buzios. You can buy tickets at the bus station or online. You will need your passport to buy tickets and travel.

There are buses every hour or two depending on the day of the week. It is recommended to buy tickets in advanced if traveling during the weekends or holidays.
