Castello di Potentino, close to Montalcino is a stunning medieval castle surrounded by a vineyard and is owned and run by the lovely Greene family. Beautifully restored back to its former glory, Castello Di Potentino offers their guests both comfort and charm.

In your home away from home, you will find several sitting rooms to relax and there is also a wonderful library to explore. All rooms are different but have the superb ambiance in common. All participants get a large double room with en-suite bathroom.

Below you can see what a ‘typical’ day could look like on this yoga retreat in Italy. Gunn Haglund Yoga will give you the full program of the week once you arrive. They will also leave enough space for adjustments in the schedule, just to be open for the unexpected and for you to find enough room to simply relax. They might add a workshop or go for a guided walk, all depending on the weather conditions and overall group interest.

This is your time, your holiday, so if you want to skip a yoga class that is absolutely fine. Although Gunn Haglund Yoga believes you will find the program stimulating and fun, primarily they want you to relax and enjoy yourself.

The meditation and yoga programs are a soft approach to what may become part of your daily life. Through meditation and yoga, people from around the world and of all level of society have reached incredible results in balancing body, mind, and spirit.

Three hours of yoga a day may sound way too much, especially when you have never done yoga before or when you’re a beginner. Not to worry, this is not a boot camp and they’ll make sure you stay within your limits. You can also opt for the calm, meditative afternoon session only.

    Gunn Haglund, a former news presenter and media executive, started a regular Ashtanga yoga practice in 1998 and gradually developed a keen interest in yoga philosophy, meditation, and Ayurveda health. Gunn completed a two year yoga teacher training course with Jeff Phenix at Triyoga London December 2009, a Thai yoga massage course in 2012, Vipassana meditation in August 2016 as well as a range of anatomy workshops. Gunn teaches Ashtanga yoga, dynamic Vinyasa flow and restorative Yin yoga at Oslo Yoga and Northern Light Yoga in addition to organizing retreats in Tuscany.

This retreat will take place at Castello Di Potentino, located in Seggiano, Province of Grosseto, Italy. Close to Montalcino, the castle is famous for its Brunello wine. Since the region has long been famous for its quality food and wine, some yogic wine tasting is on the retreat schedule for sure as your hosts make their own award-winning wines.

In the environment, you will find the only Romanesque abbey of Sant Antimo, the Renaissance city jewel of Pienza and, the famous gardens of La Foce created by Iris Origo. The impressive medieval towns of Pitigliano, Sorano, and Siena are also nearby. The hot springs and spas of Saturnia, Bagno Vignoni, and Bagni San Filippo are easy day trips.

You will be served three meals every day. For lunch, you will enjoy al fresco meals overlooking the rolling hills of Seggiano.
