Yoga teacher training course at Diya Yoga is designed to keep in mind a broader view of yoga including philosophy, meditation, anatomy, kriya, and the art of teaching. The main focus is not just creating teachers but to imbibe yoga in your daily life. This course is designed as per Yoga alliance guidelines, You do not need any prior qualification for the course. After the course, you will be ready to teach yoga anywhere in the world.

Accommodation will be at natural palm leaves and bamboo-made cottages with attached bathrooms. There is also a hall which is under a big banyan tree and surrounded by nature.

Through this course, Diya Yoga supports individuality, guiding you to give a personal touch to the class during training. The yoga teacher training is very flexible and will not force any dogmatic ideas or beliefs to you. After completing the course, you will get Yoga Alliance 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate which makes you eligible to work anywhere in the world as a yoga trainer.

Diya Yoga also supports the students who studied Hatha yoga teacher training to assist in courses if they like to practice more. You will start with Hatha yoga as the basic yoga training and during the course, you will go deeper into Vinyasa, Sivananda, and some Restorative and Yin yoga. You will learn yoga asanas, philosophy, anatomy, meditation, the art of teaching, and methodology. Each class will be about an hour or an hour and a half.

Asana

During the yoga teacher training course, the main focus is on basic asanas. You will aim to practice with patience and awareness of alignment early in the morning. To bring balance in the physical body, looking at personal anatomy, and observing individual practice, you will be given supportive input to improve the postures and alignments. You will be bringing mindfulness to the posture and using the power of gravity, making it more beneficial for healthy living.

Pranayama

Breathing is life. Due to stress and tension, many of you create dysfunctional breathing patterns. You will be working on different pranayama practices, relaxing the muscle of respiratory system, supplying oxygen to all the body parts and mind, and creating a right way of breathing for physical and mental health. It is also important to have the correct breathing pattern during asana practice.

Philosophy

Diya Yoga is a non-dogmatic yoga school. Starting from yoga history, Diya Yoga teaches 8 limbs of yoga Sutras by Patanjali. It's more like discussion and teaching on the philosophy of yoga, explaining 3 gunas and wisdom of Bhagavad Gita with freedom on sharing the individual point of view towards yoga. It’s basically implementing yoga not only on the mat but also in your daily life for a balanced and healthy living.

Meditation

During this course, you will have classes on different meditations. Meditation not only helps you improve your breathing pattern but also helps you be patient and calm in your lives. You will be given training on active, passive, and analytic meditation, encouraging you to try every kind of meditation and then decide what is right for you to be used in your daily life.

Anatomy

During the course, you will learn the physiology and anatomy of body structure, understand different body parts, learn how different stretch happens in each asana, and how it affects your body. This anatomy training will make you aware of your body parts without dissecting them. It will give you a better understanding of your body and your body parts so that you will start living a better life.

Yogic anatomy

In the yogic anatomy training, you will be taught how to understand your body and how to attain control over your body parts. This training will help you understand the energy of your body, detailed explanation of Chakras, Nadis, and Koshas where practical examples and experience are shown. There are kinds of meditation where you can work on your yogic anatomy.

Art of teaching

In the training methodology, you will be encouraged to observe the responsibilities of a yoga teacher. The teacher will explain ethics, values, and encourage you to see how to involve everyone during the class, grow interest amongst them, and how to take care of everyone. The teacher will guide you through the steps to set up a yoga business and what mistakes should be avoided while setting it up.

Practicum

During the practicum, you will learn to teach each other in small groups of asana class under observation of the teacher, so your fear of teaching will disappear during the yoga teacher training. As practice makes a man perfect, your practice will start at the school itself. This will boost your confidence and makes you ready to give training or classes by the end of yoga teacher training course.

Alignment

This is a very important subject where you will be explained about each asana. Details will be given about many kinds of adjustments including when to have verbal or physical adjustment, where to focus during the class, how to deal with student who has physical pain, and what kind of pain has to be completely avoided. These important aspects will be thoroughly taught in this subject.

The yoga teacher training program will take place near Arambol Beach in Goa, India.

You will have vegetarian healthy breakfast and lunch included in the price. However, dinner and Sunday meal are not included.
