My retreat with Dharana Meditation Center was excellent. Tobi was a compassionate and enthusiastic teacher of meditation. Each morning we visited different locations around Phuket, and each location was peaceful and interesting. These locations varied from isolated beaches that were scenic and peaceful to Wats that were very spiritual. At each of these morning sessions Tobi taught us of the wisdom inherent in meditation and gave something to focus on for our meditation that day. The remainder of the day was spent on individual meditation with an afternoon group mediation and questions helping to further your practice.The hotel was relaxing and the meals were tasty and nourishing. Parn was always there to help with any questions you may have about the mediation or the hotel.I would highly recommend Dharana mediation to anyone interested in furthering there practice.

My wife and I chose this retreat through the internet as it didn't appear all glamorous. It appeared simple and straight to the point. Indeed it was. Tobi and Parn are wonderful hosts. A set schedule of mindfulness meditation, self-discovery, and yoga that literally "stretched" your mind and body. Vegetarian meals were sensational and filling. Words are really inadequate to describe our overall experience. We recommend the experience to anyone that wants to get back to their true self, their true nature of being-ness. Thank you.

Fantastic teaching and a real chance to re-charge and spend some reflection time. The bungalow accommodation is first class The center is run by lovely people who are not in this for the money but have a genuine desire to teach and guide.

Tobi runs a basic, non-trendy, meditation tradition. He is very dedicated to this form of self-growth. He runs the retreat with his warm hearted partner, Parn. Tobi places the structure of a meditation and breathing techniques in the larger context of Tibetan Buddhism. There is an early wake up, two Q&A sessions followed by a guided meditation, and three individual meditation sessions a day. On such a meditation retreat, the quality of your experience directly relates to the amount effort you put in. That being said, there is a lot of trust involved in sharing the personal experience of meditation with an unknown teacher/guider. Luckily, Tobi is a very open person. He was open to our skepticism and engaged us thoroughly in all of our questions. This created an environment well suited to growth. I benefited greatly from my three day retreat, becoming more self-aware and deepening a larger awareness. Also, I also took the opportunity to get a Thai massage from Parn, which I enjoyed very much. The location of the retreat is a local establishment with good food. In between my meditation sessions, I enjoyed jumping in the pool. The family that runs the housing and food is very hospitable, warm, and kind.
