Maite was first introduced to yoga in her early twenties but from a young age her inquisitive mind drew her to study and explore different spiritual traditions. Born to a Nigerian father and a Spanish mother her exposure to a variety of cultures nurtured a quest for studying social anthropology, for traveling, for a deeper understanding of the humankind and the big existential questions. Maite’s style is a Hatha Flow yoga, with emphasis in heart opening asanas, in order to delve deeper into love and move out into the world, and ride the wave of life with a fearless heart.

"Very comfortable and very clean rooms in the middle of nature"
The place is peaceful and the people are very nice. Yoga lessons were awesome.
I really enjoyed and improved surfing. My instructor was Gonzalo, he really knows how to teach. He watched and corrected every detail of technique step by step.
And last night lovely Kelsey cooked us a vegan food which was really delicious.
Thank you guys everything was great.

"8 days yoga and surf retreat, turned into 10 days!"
I had such a good time that I decided to stay for two more days: The location is beautiful and well kept and the yoga classes are varied and fun. They have a great team of instructors and staff that will help you to get the most pleasure out of your stay. The surfing lessons are also a lot of fun!
This amazing retreat is like a dream, a mix of every great place I've ever stayed. Great shopping, yoga several times a day, comfortable bed in an air conditioned room, full kitchen, and best of all, incredible people. Brendan and Sofiah are so welcoming and laid back. I can't wait to go back
I went to Costa Rica for the first time last month and I experienced the beauty of this land and its people. I feel so humbled and grateful for spending the first 5 days in Danyasa, a place that feels like a hug to the heart. Its owners Brendan and Sofiah are two gorgeous souls that will make you feel at home just by being the very beautiful expression of themselves. If you pass by Dominical, this is THE place you should stay in. Its energy and the people you meet there will guarantee you an excellent trip. ❤
*Very comfortable rooms (containers in the middle of nature) and bathrooms.
*Common kitchen where you meet gorgeous people (that might invite you for smoothies because you are jet lagged or give you amazing tips for the rest of your journey within the country).
*Yoga space where you can enjoy classes with amazing teachers.
*Very close to the stunning Dominical beach.
*Safe & clean.
*Small shop selling beautiful products.
Oh and! *A hike away from Nauyaca Waterfalls.
To me, Danyasa is the heart of Dominical. I spent my first week there for an Aerial Yoga TT. After my retreat was over I checked out and had already arranged for an Air B&B right down the road for 10 more days. I couldn't stay away! I popped in and out for classes and to just say hi to all the amazing people that make Danyasa what it is. Had I known, i would have just stayed there for my whole trip! The owners Brendan and Sophia are so welcoming and accommodating. The teachers are diverse and knowledgeable. I can't wait to come back!

Loved the atmosphere and the lounge. Yoga classes were excellent! Staff was great at facilitating other activities and excursions. Rooms are spartan but exactly as advertised. Would come back again or recommend to a friend.

My trip to Danyasa was fabulous! The lodging is beautiful, my favorite was the gorgeous yoga studio, that I often could practice in on my own if not occupied. I was there during a relatively low census so it was often open but I imagine if there was a retreat or more people, there would be more classes. There were 1-2 classes a day, which I would classify a beginner and more restorative, but I practice a more vigorous advanced athletic practice. But the teachers are all phenomenal and compassionate and really love yoga and teaching! My eco-container was the perfect place to relax after a long day of yoga wandering the cute tiny town (it's literally less than a mile to walk through and around the whole thing) and surfing which was a fun and rewarding challenge! I was there from Monday night Dec 5th to Saturday, Dec 10th. I took a company shuttle with super shuttle which was cheap on the way in, and on the way out i paid 160$ for a private shuttle which was "arranged" by Danyasa, but there was a bit of a snafu which was partly my fault because I booked so last minute, because it was worth spending the money to spend 3 more hours in glorious dominical! Also, the food at cafe mono congo is fresh and delicious, where I would often have brunch, dinner, or just coffee or dessert!
Overall a great trip! Would recommend for someone who can happily fill their days on the beach, practicing yoga, or if adventurous touring neighboring areas or snorkeling or hiking which is available for a price through many companies in town, and easy to book. Also, the surf and yoga combo was awesome. And the beach was always tranquil and never crowded but again I was there in December, so still 80s but with some afternoon rains. So glad I went!
