See how the breath makes so much accessible, rejuvenates, and creates relaxed enjoyment in any challenge. The retreat center this year, Shamabala Gatherings, is a great place to rejuvenate your spirit by exploring the surrounding beautiful lush forest and lakes, enjoying the evening sauna, dipping in a tranquil lake, and trying some of the in-house bodywork therapies: massage, craniosacral therapy, full body oil massage, and meditation floating tank.
This retreat is hosted by the world famous Shambala Gatherings retreat center, quietly situated in a Swedish forest surrounded by tranquil lakes. Shambala is particularly renowned for the community feel that is created when ‘strangers quickly become friends’, for the wholesome vegan food made from local and mostly homegrown organic ingredients, and its beautiful location in Nordic nature. Other features of the center include the availability of a variety of massage treatments and the use of their sauna. Accommodation will be shared in twin or triple rooms.
All sessions are suitable for beginners to intermediate and advanced / embodied / professional practitioners. The focus is to support you, create space for you to relax, and connect to yourself, nature, and everyone present. There shall be at least two sessions a day, meals provided, and ample time to rejuvenate and explore the beautiful location.
AcroYoga elevates the connection between you and others through movement, connection, and play. Acro in Greek means high or elevated. Yoga in Sanskrit commonly translates to notions of union or joining. The experience of taking flight with AcroYoga instantly dissolves fears and invites practitioners to tap into new and infinite possibilities of communication, trust, and union. By combining acrobatics, yoga, and healing arts, the practice of AcroYoga has built a community of active teachers and practitioners all over the world.
It blends three main elements:
Restorative or dynamic Partner yoga flows are connected with one or more friends. It helps you stretch deeper than you usually would, build strength in a supportive way, and cultivates the ability to listen, communication skills, and interpersonal connection.
Thai yoga massage originates from the Buddhist tradition and has elements of Vipassana (meditation of insight), Metta (loving-kindness), yoga, and Tai Chi. It is the application of rhythmic pressure on points and energy lines in the body, yogic stretching of muscles, and joint manipulation.
Depending on the arrival and departure time of the guests, the program for the first and last days will be adapted to accommodate the group. Check-in is 4:00 p.m. on September 5 and check out is 3:00 p.m. on September 11. Class and meal times can change.
Catie is the author of "This Is It, Enlightenment with CYoga" and teaches master classes internationally. Catie shares a core approach that anything is possible. She is spontaneous with a highly original and integrated approach to yoga. Her dynamic energy connects with everyone, and she developed her own formless or form of yoga - Cyoga. Cyoga is this "Magic moment of involvement with love / yoga; brilliance in any situation".
Anastasis started practicing yoga in 2010, in the most unorthodox way: an Acroyoga class. He stayed devoted to the practice for 2 years, as he felt a profound impact in his stress levels. His eyes opened to the non-physical aspects of yoga in an Anusara class with Katchie Ananda at the 1st Barcelona Yoga Conference. He has studied with guruji Andrey Lappa, the founder of Universal Yoga, Patrick McKowen & Wim Hof. He owes a big part of his understanding of asana practice to Eileen Gauthier. He is also a Pilates and Buteyko method instructor.
The venue will be situated 5 minutes from a town called Skinnskatteberg, 2 hours north of Stockholm, in Sweden.

During this retreat, you will be served three vegan meals by Shamabala daily: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The kitchen is the heart of Shambala. They just love to make delicious vegetarian food for you.
They not only use the best possible ingredients, including organic products but also take care of food combinations to ensure that you are in top energetic shape all throughout the retreat.
Many people have felt throughout the years, that one of the peak experiences of Shambala has been in the kitchen! They have chosen to have an open and warm feeling in the kitchen where food is prepared amidst singing songs, laughter, and creativity that comes from the navel and the heart.
On the menu selection process they inspire from the Ayurvedic tradition of food preparation and proper food combination. The vegan, gluten-free cuisine uses mainly organic products, and locally produced vegetables when possible.
During this retreat, you can spend your free time journaling, hiking, dipping in the lake, AcroYoga jamming time, or receive a massage session. If you prefer to just chill and relax, you can just sit and watch the stillness of the lakes.

Please book your flight to arrive at Stockholm Västerås Airport (VST). It is the nearest airport to Shambala. You can fly from all over Europe to this airport with a low fare airline. From the airport, you can take a taxi to the train station in Vasteras and from there you can take a train to Skinnskatteberg. The second nearest airport is Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN). This is the main airport in Sweden. From the airport, you can easily take a train all the way to Skinnskatteberg.
There is a train station at Skinnskatteberg that is only a few minutes from the center.
