Every day with the Oshiis team is an adventure. With endless activities and experiences, every moment will be lived to the fullest. Starting the day with a home cooked breakfast. A variety of fresh fruits, baked goods, coffee or tea, smoothies, pinto, eggs, etc. Your local surf guides will be there early to pick you up and get the appropriate surfboard ready for the conditions.

You will spend two to three hours at the beach and in the water, learning surf theory, safety, and etiquette. The rest of the time, you will be in the water able to put your new knowledge into practice. After surf, you will head home to rinse off in the outdoor bamboo jungle shower, relax, and eat another delicious, healthy home-prepared meal. In the afternoon, you have the option to add additional activities to your surf and yoga holiday, or you can take time to relax in the hammock and read a book.

You close out each day with a sunset yoga class either at the house or on the beach. Most evenings, you will be on your own to enjoy and explore the towns amazing array of world cuisine and nightlife. CASA OSHIIS SURF HOME STAY is happy to give some suggestions of some of the hot spots or secret spots. You are welcome to included dinner and nightly transportation at an additional cost. This is your holiday. Everything is at your time and your pace.

Located along the coast of the Caribbean Sea in southern Costa Rica, in the Talamanca province, Puerto Viejo is a gorgeous little surf and fishing village with a population of roughly 25,000. Puerto Viejo offers a unique culture that can only be found only in this part of the country thanks to the native cultures of Bri Bri Indian and Jamaican decedents. They used to call the town Old Harbor or Olaba until the Spanish arrived.

Puerto Viejo is known for its laid back attitude, blasting reggae music, authentic cooking with coconut milk, playing dominos, dense and tropical jungles, turquoise waters, miles and miles of beautiful beaches, the abundance of wildlife and endless actives, and daily adventures. The town of Puerto Viejo or the downtown is conveniently located right on the beach. The road out of town, parallel to the coast, heading south, will lead you to several smaller communities and beaches such as Playa Cocles, Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva, Manzanillo.

As you are heading out of town in that direction you will find yourself at the world famous surf break, Salsa Brava. Depending on the season, it may look flat and like there is nothing, but when the season comes, you will not be able to miss it. You will be seeing the locals surfers and spectators alike at the beach waiting for the show. With dozens of beautiful beaches, from Playa Negra to Gandoca, beautiful accommodation, bars, local shops, and delicious restaurants, you will quickly see why this place is so special.

Your tropical breakfasts will be homemade and fresh every morning. A variety of fresh fruits, baked goods, coffee or tea, smoothies, juices, pinto, eggs, and other local favorites will be prepared for your liking. CASA OSHIIS SURF HOME STAY is able to accommodate all food allergies and preferences. They also source local produce, poultry, and seafood. Your healthy and hearty lunches will also be prepared at home, otherwise, you will hit up some of the favorite spots for some traditional Caribbean cuisine, rice and beans, ceviches, patty, and more. Dinners are available upon request.
