Enjoy a yoga retreat at the White Mountains of Crete with a view to different summits from Kalergi refuge that offers a unique place of isolation and tranquility, ideal for deepening your practice, in a special location at 1680 meters altitude. There will be morning (Mysore) practice, evening therapeutic practice in asana and pranayama, meditation, a documentary on yoga, endless discussions and laughter, in a space which allows you to open your heart and your mind to each other and share your experiences!

Accommodation is shared in the refuge dormitories and shared rooms (between 2-4 people depending on the number of participants). Toilets are shared but separate for men and women, hot showers are available upon request. As this is a mountain refuge, only blankets are provided and the participants are requested to bring their own bed linen and towels.
Take your backpack with all you need, switch off all the unnecessary thoughts, practice yoga, be in yoga, connect, and receive all the gifts that mountains will offer silently and carry the important messages with you back in daily life. Ashtanga yoga in white mountains!
The day will always start with meditation and you will be able to meditate according to the technique you wish. The morning practice will be Mysore yoga, and you will have the opportunity to work depending on your pace and level. At 16:00, the second part of the seminar starts, beginning with a guided yoga lesson during which you will deepen you asana techniques, followed by pranayama and chanting.
Finally, during the evening speech, issues related to the philosophy of yoga and how its principles can be applied to daily practice and life, in general, will be discussed. The last day is dedicated to hiking at an altitude of 2000 meters. From there, you can enjoy the Canyon of Samaria and the great view of the massif.
We hike from Omalos plateau to Kalergi Refuge on the arrival day. One can hike around the retreat area, with the view of different summits and Samaria Gorge.
Nektarios has been teaching the Ashtanga yoga method as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois since 2009, while in 2012 Manju Jois authorized Nektarios to further do so. He now teaches primary and intermediate series. His extensive time in India also led him to become an accomplished sitar and veena player, as well as a certified Vedic astrologer. During the last years, he has also practiced Vipassana meditation and spends much of his time in the mountains, becoming a skillful mountaineer.
This retreat will take place Kalergi Refuge, 1,680 meters on the top of Omalos plateau, Chania, Crete.
The day will start with a hot herb tea for invigoration and warmth before the first meditation. After the morning practice, you will enjoy a delicious morning meal, which will consist of a variety of healthy and tonic choices, such as whole wheat bread, tahini, honey, carob syrup, hot porridge, and fruit. At noon, before the second part of the seminar, you can enjoy some fresh fruit.
When the second practice finishes, during the afternoon meal, you can choose one of the vegetarian meals of the refuge. If you wish coffee or some other herb tea or snack during the day, you can order it from the kitchen of the refuge.
During your free time, you can enjoy short walks in the nature, gazing the view, and staring at the sunset or the clear sky.
Massages are available with prior reservations for an extra cost.
You will depart from Chania at 3 p.m. on March 30, 2018. You will use a small bus for transportation to Omalos and back to Chania at the end of the retreat which will cost around 20 EUR for the bus ticket.
