Asharum Amonines

Asharum Amonines is a facility of the Nâm Foundation, which is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization committed to sharing the pure and open message of LivingNâm. This location is built from a characteristic 300-year-old house which needed big renovations twenty years ago into a house with all the comforts you need, but still retaining its 300-year-old history.

Accommodation and Facilities:

The house is surrounded by the beautiful nature of the Belgian Ardennes, and in the house, there are various rooms for general use, such as a lounge, a dining room with a kitchenette, a reading room, as well as a room of silence. There are five guest rooms, and you have a choice between a double room or a private room. The comfortable beds have duvets and pillows.

Many guests experience a visit to Asharum Amonines as a homecoming, as the peaceful, natural, and quiet atmosphere is often seen in a very positive sense.

At the accommodation, you can find:

  • Simple and comfortable rooms
  • A cozy living room with a fireplace
  • The bright conservatory
  • Arabic room where the books of Yoginâm can be found
  • A dining room with a refrigerator and a simple kitchenette (no cooking facilities)
  • Meditation room which is used for the daily meditation rhythm of the house and can be used in between for personal meditation, yoga practice, and such
  • Large garden with various seating arrangements
  • Private parking
  • Bed linen and towels (can be rented for 14 EUR)

The Staff

A small staff of volunteers takes care of Asharum Amonines and will try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. This includes cooking, as well as doing other household chores.

Programm

Yoga Asanas

The word yoga means "becoming one". The practice is about gradually opening up to the realization that everything is one and expressing itself through you. This realization requires an ethic towards yourself and others.

In gradually opening up it is important to listen carefully to life, as if life itself guides you. Practicing yoga can bring you the sensitivity and confidence needed for this and thus empower you. It is a physical way to open yourself to a meditative state, and silence, solitude, and space supports this, which is why in addition to yoga asanas and meditation, practicing silence during a retreat is highly recommended.

During a yoga retreat, a maximum of five people participate in a yoga class. The groups are deliberately kept small and the explanations of the asanas are kept minimal to support the contemplative aspect of a practice.

Asha Meditation

During the retreat you will have six meditations, called Asha Meditation.

In the first half of the Asha meditation a regular rhythm is maintained by the staf for you in order to make a transition to a meditative state. The second half of the meditation is in silence.

Silence

During the retreat we offer the possibility to be in silence. Yoga in combination with silence and meditation is a wonderful way to quieten down and connect in full attention. It offers the opportunity to fully relax and experience a beneficial space for the body and mind. If you need inner peace to return with more clarity, then this yoga retreat is for you.

Check-In and Check Out

Check-in is between 15:00 and 17:00, check out is around 12:00 am. It is possible to stay for lunch at 2pm, for which we ask a contribution of €10.00.

Asharum Amonines is situated in the Ardennes of Belgium, and close to the municipality of Erezée in Luxembourg. The house and the surroundings are special because of the beauty and the tranquility of the area, where life is still lived at a quiet pace. The house itself is situated on the leylines of Wéris, which is an area where many megalithic structures are the vibrant remnants of an ancient past.
