The retreat will be held in Amorgos which is an island with intense Cycladic character and is located on the southern side of Cyclades. Surrounded by the blue sea of the Aegean, Amorgos amazes visitors with the serene atmosphere, the picturesque villages, the crystal beaches, and the pure nature. In fact, Amorgos is a great island for trekking as the trails pass by ancient sites, secluded beaches, tiny chapels, and give gorgeous view to the sea.
Aegiali is located on the northern side of Amorgos. It is one of the two ports that connect Amorgos to the port of Piraeus in Athens and other Cyclades islands. Although Aegiali is the most popular tourist place of the island, it keeps its traditional character authentic. The calm vibes and the natural beauty of Aegiali amaze visitors at first sight. The large bay gives a long crystal beach to swim.
This beach is lined by delicious fish taverns, beach bars, and seaside cafeterias with a great view to the Aegean. This is the biggest beach on the island, with soft sand and clear waters, starting from the port of Aegiali following the shape of an arch. It is ideal for anyone, including families with children. The inner road of Aegiali has tourist shops, mini markets, and other facilities to cover all needs of visitors.
Daily vegetarian breakfast and dinner are included. During the retreat, you will be provided with a wide range of vegetarian Greek traditional dishes using locally produced organic ingredients for breakfast and dinner. If you have special dietary requirements, it is a good idea to communicate it to Anelina Plati when making a reservation.
The core in the Amorgian cuisine lies mainly in the wide variety of seasonable vegetables and fruits. It is the Mediterranean character that adds the feature and balance to its dishes, making the dishes delicious yet simple. You will also taste delicious local specialties:
A range of unique experiences and adventures are available to book in conjunction with the scheduled activities for an extra cost. Amorgos is famous worldwide for its hiking trails. There are several marked historical paths to explore the different areas of the island on foot. Most of them are old donkey routes that connect the villages of Amorgos. Chora, with the whitewashed houses and the paved streets, is the capital of Amorgos.
Aegiali and Katapola are the two main ports of the island and also the most tourist places. You will enjoy a delicious dish by the sea, climb the stairs up to the Monastery of Hozoviotissa, taste the traditional rakomelo (raki with honey), walk the paths of the small villages, swim in gorgeous beaches, and let the vibes of Amorgos give you the relaxation you need in holidays.
