This retreat is powerful and gentle to the inner center with intense yoga and meditation through a journey of five elements of Chinese medicine. Energize your body and find your balance in a peaceful atmosphere with gorgeous mountain panorama. The combination of idyllic peace, healthy nutrition, and a balanced yoga and meditation program creates for you a healing and holistic experience.
The guest rooms and community rooms in the Alpen Retreat are lovingly designed. Each room has a special theme, mostly chosen from the different countries the Alpen Retreat team has visited on their travels. The mixture of international ambiance and traditional Tyrolean charm creates a particularly beautiful and "homey" atmosphere. Lounging out on your room side terrace overlooking the Fernpass valley and adjacent Zugspitz arena, you can enjoy year-round sunshine thanks to Alpen Retreat's southward facing position.
After a day spent on the slopes or hiking through Alpine forests, you will be able to relax in the traditional “stube” with gorgeous wood paneling and traditional farmers “kachel” stove. If you wish to experience tranquility on a whole new level, you can take advantage of Alpen Retreat's yoga and meditation sessions as well as the nearby spas.
During your stay, you are very welcome to use the community rooms in the Alpen Retreat such as the traditional Tyrolean stube (living room), the dining room, the library, and the yoga hall.
You start the morning with active, powerful, and dynamic Vinyasa flow yoga asanas. The focus is on strengthening the muscles and you experience an energizing and activating effect on body and mind.
During Yin yoga asanas in the early evening, you linger passively and pause in the individual positions for three to five minutes. The deep layers of the body such as ligaments, fascia, and connective tissue are strengthened and become more flexible. The effect is regenerating, soothing, and encourages your serenity and patience. With calm (Yin yoga) and active (Vinyasa yoga) practices, your energies in the body can be harmoniously harmonized.
Carina also works as a naturopath with the focus on Chinese medicine and will lead you through this week through the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. On the day of the wood, for example, you will practice Yin yoga asanas that activate the liver and bile meridians (the element wood) and experience it on meditation in the morning as you get better with feelings of anger and frustration (you learn these feelings when the wooden element reach the equilibrium).
You will get to know different meditations and breathing exercises (pranayama), which will help you in your daily life to more inner peace and insight.
In conversation groups, you will talk about how you can better understand unpleasant feelings such as anger, dependency, and jealousy, and find healthier treatment for you to develop more love, forgiveness, and compassion.
