This multi-style Yoga Teacher Training course is a combination of active involvement (Yang) and passive awareness (Yin), fitness and witness, where physical practice merges with the subtle, spiritual and divine force of creativity, where activities are meant to support the deep relaxation. Abhinam Yoga Center 200hr Multi-style YTTC in Dharamsala Program

Abhinam Yoga School classifies Ashtanga Vinyasa, Power Yoga and Hatha Vinyasa Yoga as Yang practice and Restorative Yoga with therapeutic/touch or Yoga with props and mindfulness as Yin practice. Hence, the Multi-style Yoga Teacher Training course consists of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha Vinyasa, Restorative Yin Yoga combined with relaxation techniques with mindfulness practices such as Vipassana meditation, mantra chanting, Yoga Nidra, deep Yogic sleep or talking to body-mind methods from yogic and tantric traditions.

Who can join?

Anyone who has practiced any style of yoga for a while and has developed an interest to learn more about it or wish to go deeper into the field of Yoga qualifies for this course. The program is designed in such a way that even a beginner with little experience can join it and benefit from it. Participants who do not have any desire to become a yoga teacher, but just want to have a life transforming experience with balanced diet, right movement, right sleep, spiritual environment and overall a disciplined yogic life may join this course. It’s called teacher training course but it’s meant for sincere students who want to study yoga and out of their deep study and overflowing joy, their teaching springs out naturally. The well trained certified teachers' team is there to support and facilitate that transformation.

Course Syllabus

Abhinam Yoga follows the syllabus set by Yoga Alliance US and UK for Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) and incorporates training hours in the following modules:

Techniques, Training and Practice

  • Learning to observe, master and teach various asanas, their modifications, adjustments, contraindications and how to use props.
  • Theory and Practice of Standing poses, sitting poses, inversions, back bends, arm balances and other postures.
  • Study and Practical training of Mantras, Kriyas, Pranayamas and various techniques of Meditation.
  • Asana practice is focused on developing the quality of body alignment, observation and sharpening awareness of deeper physiological processes while performing an Asana.

Teaching Methodology

  • Learning the art of alignment and hand on adjustment with the help of props.
  • Qualities and Conduct of a Teacher while leading a class.
  • Conducting Vinyasa Flow led classes with a touch of personal creativity.

Anatomy and Physiology

  • Learning about the musculoskeletal system with focus on bones, ligaments, origin & insertions of muscles with nerve supply.
  • Basic Overview of the structure and functions (Anatomy and Physiology) of different systems in the human body.
  • Anatomy of Pranayama with focus on Energy Systems, Chakras, Energy Bodies and the Cardiovascular System.
  • Practical Application of Anatomy and Physiology to Yoga Practices.

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers

  • Historical background of Traditional Yoga
  • Minimum decency codes for Yoga teachers
  • Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – Samadhi and Sadhana (Chapter 1 and 2)
  • Bhagavad Gita – Dhyana Yoga (Chapter 6)
  • Hatha Yoga Pradipika (Kriyas)
  • Meditations from Vigyan Bhairav Tantra Text
  • Ethics mentioned in Yogic Scriptures for Yoga Practitioners and Teachers


  • Practicing in small and big groups under the observation of a teacher.
  • Creating and leading a Flow Led class.
  • Assisting Lead Trainers, observing and receiving feedback accordingly.

Tutorials, Assignment and Exam

  • Self- study and submission of assignments on the basis of the lectures and discussions.
  • Practical Exam to assess the students on their learning, practice and teaching during their teacher training course.

Yoga Alliance UK and USA Certification

At successful completion of the course you will get a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate which can be registered at Yoga Alliance USA and UK in order to become RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher).

Please book your flight to arrive at Gaggal Airport (DHM). Abhinam Yoga Center will be pleased to arrange the airport transfer for you, at an additional cost of 50 USD. The best way for travelers to reach Dharamsala by air is to travel from New Delhi Airport. Indira Gandhi Delhi Airport (DEL) is connected to almost all major destinations and all major cities in India. Daily flights are operated from New Delhi to Gaggal Airport.
