A Lotus Seed retreat is also vacation. You will be staying at a wonderful domain in the midst of the Gerst in France, not too far from Toulouse. The retreat center has its own meditation and practice hall, a massage room, a sauna, a garden, and swimming pool (unheated and outside, but refreshing after sauna) to enjoy relaxation. The surroundings are beautiful for hiking and exploration. The accommodation options are on private, double, and triple occupancy basis.

Experience mindfulness - compassion - and heart meditation, positive neuroplasticity, yoga as well as enjoy a relaxing sauna and massage in the beautiful Gers, France. You will learn to open your hearts to the possibilities, love, spaciousness, and compassion that exists inside yourself while taking care of stuck feelings in your body and stories in your heads.

You will journey into healing relationships with yourself and others so that you can transform pains into a gift and finally, start moving with your hands and feet to possibilities you may have never imagined possible before. Heart-, (self-) compassion-, and positive neuro-plasticity meditation practices form the core of the program and complement mindfulness-based MBCT-MBSR meditation.

A broader context is provided to learn the workings of mind-body-brain-heart linkages. In the morning, there is Iyengar yoga to wake up energetically and in the afternoon, you can follow a Yin yoga class to stretch your body and enter a deep relaxation mode or take a therapeutic massage.

These practices have been showing psychological and neurological benefits, activating brain parts linked to focus, awareness, creativity, positive feelings, cognitive flexibility, and empathy as well as compassion for yourself and others.

Heart, compassion & MBSR-MBCT

MBSR-MBCT is a combination of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive training (MBCT). These are the most widely researched meditation programs in the world. There are used in companies, hospitals, and schools. Compassion and positive neuro-plasticity are the most-recent researched fields and complement mindfulness in strengthening positive neural pathways. A Lotus Seed integrates both and adds insights from neuroscience and Buddhism to deepen the practice.

With A Lotus Seed, you can count on extensive expertise and the spirit and warmth of the community. They focus on the power of meditation, the brain, mind, body, heart, and the linkages between. They believe in bringing neuroscience, compassion practices, and the link between Eastern and Western psychology to the picture for a holistic understanding. A Lotus Seed starts from experience rather than theoretical and mental constructs.

You will start the day with a rejoicing alignment-based Iyengar yoga to strengthen your muscles and get energized to move more easily throughout the day.

After a healthy breakfast, the morning meditation session forms the core of the program in which you will meditate, reflect, and learn about the broader context of brain, body, and mind.

In the afternoon, there is enough free time to make some beautiful walks, read a good book, take a massage or sauna. There is also a Restorative or Yin yoga in the afternoon to relieve deep tension from the muscles with gentle passive stretching. In the evening, there will be a relaxation session with reflection about the day.

Geraldine Gobert
Geraldine believes that each and everyone is their own best teacher but they can use guidance in making the mind fit for their purpose. She sees herself as a guide on your path, rather than a teacher. After years of practice, she followed an intensive teacher training course from the Institute of Mindfulness in Belgium. She was taught by David Dewulf, Mark Williams, Christina Feldman, John Peacock, Chris Germer, Kristin Neff as well as monks in various monasteries across Europe and Asia.
(Hatha Yoga)
Anna is a certified Hatha yoga teacher and teaches slow flow classes with a strong foundation in classic, alignment-based Iyengar and Yin yoga. Her style is soft and gentle as it is powerful. Anna's journey on the yoga mat has brought her closer to herself and opened her heart to her inner truth. Oh and besides that, she's a gentle and loving human being, nature and peace lover, and a great inspiration!

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Toulouse - Blagnac Airport (TLS).

Fly to Toulouse or Bordeaux from all major cities in Europe. The estimated cost is 40 to 150 EUR with the low-cost company or 120 to 250 EUR with any other major airline. Rented cars can be shared among participants and the rental costs will be around 65 EUR per person for a whole week. You can also come with your own car. Tell A Lotus Seed where you come from and they'll help you book your flights, train, and / or car.
