Come join Dave's Retreats for a wonderful weekend at Heifer Ranch full of yoga, meditation, learning, relaxation, and peace. This retreat package includes two nights in one of Dave's Retreats' comfortable lodges and six delicious meals. Of course just being at beautiful Heifer Ranch in the fall is alone worth the trip. There are playful goats, adorable piglets, and a whole host of other livestock to keep your attention. Yoga beginners are welcome to come. In fact, you are welcome to come just for the scenery and delicious food!

Dave's Retreats Yoga Vacation USA Program

You will have nine yoga sessions to choose from led by four top-notch instructors from Illinois, Louisiana, and Arkansas. In addition to yoga and meditation, there will be classes on a variety of topics such as organic gardening, cheese-making, essential oils, and massage. In all, there are over 15 classes for you to pick and choose from.

Evening gentle yoga

Dawn calls her gentle yoga class "yoga nap time". Gentle yoga is all about relaxation. It is for everyone. No experience required. All the poses are on the mat, lying down, and with the use of props and blankets. The whole point is to feel so relaxed that you can fall asleep. You will end with Savasana featuring Dawn's singing bowls.

Rise and shine gentle yoga

Stretch out your whole body and greet the day with an open heart. Enjoy the sounds of the farm, the heat of the early morning sun, the cool breeze, and reconnect with your gratitude.

Flying dragon dance Vinyasa

Start your morning off right with a slow Flow class that incorporates Kundalini inspired asanas, then the dragon dance, a unique and challenging Vinyasa, followed by floor asanas that will leave you with a balance of peace and energy to take with you on your journey home.

High intensity Vinyasa Flow

A traditional Vinyasa class with challenging Flow and several sun salutations. Must be able to get up and down from floor to standing with ease. Highly recommended for those participating in the arm balance workshop to warm up.

Essential oils workshop

In this workshop, you will learn about essential oils while crafting a natural bug spray. You will discuss how oils work and how to use oils as natural replacements for cleaning products, toiletries, etc. Plus, you will get a chance to smell and learn about a wide variety of Doterra essential oils and ask all the questions you would like. What you make, you get to take. Everyone will get a bottle of bug spray.


Learn and experience self and partner massage techniques, Thai yoga massage, foam rolling, and more. Come with a retreat friend or by yourself. You will leave free of tension and with the knowledge you need to be better at giving and receiving massages.

Align and refine

Have you ever wondered if you are doing a pose correctly? Well, now you can ask. This class focuses on correct alignment of the asanas, focusing on safety and detail.

Chakra balancing meditation

This will be a guided meditation using the help of essential oils and mantra to bring awareness to each chakra. You will discuss the different properties of each chakra center and cover specific oils and mantras to help you bring harmony into your life.

Goat walking

Learn all about goats while taking one on a walk with a leash. Actually, it probably will be more like you are being taken for a walk.

Arm balance

For those already arm balancing and those who would like to. You will go over stretches for and how to get into the following poses, crow, side crow, grasshopper, flying pigeon, Eka Pada Koundinyasana one and two, Astavakrasana, and fallen angel.

Root into fall: a gentle grounding flow

During the changing of seasons, fall tends to bring cold, dry, windy weather. With all of this energy circulating, it can be difficult to feel grounded and stable. This flow is intended to help you ground your energy and calm your mind. It will focus on poses to balance the Muladhara (root) chakra and the vata dosha. You will utilize warming pranayama techniques (breath techniques) to warm and soothe the body and include a gentle, slow flow that will help you root into relaxation. You will discuss ways to help keep your body healthy and quiet your mind during the fall season. The class will conclude with a self-massage and guided meditation.

Dawn Etheredge Eakin
Louisiana Yoga and Paddle, Yoga Fit, Senior Yoga Certification Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Yoga)
Dawn began yoga over 25 years ago as a way to stay fit and maintain emotional well-being during her tenure as sales manager for a medical device company. Since that time, she has attained several certifications, including her 200 RYT from Louisiana Yoga and Paddle, Yoga Fit, and her personal favorite, Senior Yoga Certification. Her passion is helping to educate people on all of the health benefits that yoga has to offer for everyone, regardless of their physical limitations.
Olivia Rousseau
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Yoga)
Olivia has been teaching yoga for 6 years, having taught over 850 hours of yoga. She has her 200 RYT and is currently working on obtaining a doctorate in physical therapy. After years of taking depression medication, she turned to yoga as a way to manage her stress instead and she has never looked back. She runs a small studio in Clinton, Illinois that will be launching its own teacher training within the year. Before and during college, she was an Americorps volunteer at Heifer Ranch. This magical place changed her life.
Kayce Johnson
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Yoga)
Kayce is co-owner of Arkansas Yoga Collective. She holds an RYT 200 Yoga Alliance recognized certification with over 2,000 hours of teaching experience, including working closely with chronically ill clients and cancer patients. She has studied with Sage Yoga School, Circle Yoga Shala, Yogic Arts with Duncan Wong, and Akhila Yoga with Ruslan Kleytman. She has a Master of Science in Psychology and worked in the mental health field for over eight years in various positions (including as a therapist, artist, and a training specialist) until transitioning into teaching yoga full-time.
Rena Wren
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200, RYT 500 (Yoga)
Rena has been practicing yoga for many years and is an E-RYT 200, RYT 500, and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). She trained with Courtney Butler of Balance Yoga & Wellness and currently serves as a teacher trainer for Courtney's 200 and 300-hour teacher training programs. She also traveled to Canada to study with Bernie Clark to obtain her Yin yoga certification. She has taught many different types of yoga, including Yin yoga, beginner yoga, gentle yoga, Prenatal, Restorative, Hatha, vinyasa, Power yoga, Hot yoga, yoga for trauma, yoga for depression, and hot detox.
