The practice of Hatha yoga has the goal of aligning the body and spirit through physical exercises (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), relaxation and meditation. We use the breath to guide us in the postures and increase the body's internal heat thus aiding in it's detoxification, all while exploring the balance between effort and relaxation. These classes are ideal for relaxation, strengthening of the body, and calming the mind.

This retreat is open to yoga practitioners with at least six months of regular practice and in good physical condition. It is not suitable for absolute beginners.

Please take note that the outings are real hikes and not nature walks. The trails can be wild, muddy, and require physical effort. A good pair of comfortable hiking boots are recommended.

Antone Lua

Dancing Yogini is directed by Antonée Lua, a native of Los Angeles, who began her formal dance training at the age of three studying ballet with the renowned Olga Fricker for six years. Eventually she added tap, hip-hop, freestyle as well as traditional African dance and dances of the African diaspora to the mix. It was love of movement that led Lua to her first yoga class in 1994 (someone said it was like dancing!) and the euphoria that comes from an awesome asana (yoga postures) and meditation practice. Her love for "moving meditation" led her to study with various yoga schools and teachers. After years of a rather eclectic practice, she has for the last several years focused on the flowing energy of Vinyasa yoga, the alignment of Iyengar, and the restorative and quieting practice of Yin Yoga. Antonée has found an inner calm and physical well-being through the teachings of these schools which are not mutually exclusive but complementary. In order to deepen her understanding of yoga, Lua spent six months studying Eastern Philosophy and Yoga in India and Thailand and received her Teacher Training Certification from Sivananda Kutir in October 2006.

She has recently finished her second teacher training with Gérard Arnaud in Paris and continues to study with him and his wonderful team.

The creation of Dancing Yogini is a means to share knowledge acquired from her wonderful teachers at Kula Yoga Project, Deborah Wolk and Kristen Davis in New York, Swami Nirmalananda of Sivananda Yoga, Swami Govindananda Saraswati of Sivananda Yoga Veedya Peetham, and all of her wonderful yoga and dance teachers throughout the years. The aim is to help students bring consciousness to their body and optimize their breath in order to maintain a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

"It was a fantastic experience. I am left invigorated and inspired!"

"The organisation of the retreat was excellent Antonee was great at communicating all the information and emailing RE questions and details of the retreat, travel etc. The accommodation was excellent. More than 5 stars, I have never stayed anywhere so peaceful and comfortable, with such incredible food. We had beautiful accommodation that was spacious, comfortable and really lovely. Warm and cosy and very quiet. There was then a lovely dining room in the main house overlooking the surrounding forest. the accommodation was set in a huge forest with a lake where we went on a lovely walk. There was also a sitting room with a wood burner. We had huge meals of the most excellent quality, wonderful breakfasts and then 3 course lunch's and suppers! "

"Antonee was great, there was a great energy in the group, we did a full timetable of yoga and everything just flowed, brilliant organisation. She taight really well andI didn't want the classes to end. We all felt very comfortable to try new things without any risk of not being properly guided through poses. I had peaceful nights sleeps, very nutritious food, great level of activity and the opportunity to walk through all the countryside. I never thought I could find a retreat that included so much, I thought it was too good to be true. We came from England as we couldn't find anything near that for such value too. It was incredibly down to earth and inspiring. ", edited

    "Merci beaucoup et septembre. Bisous"
