During this retreat, you will be accommodated in Pura Vida Retreat and Spa's choice of suites, rooms, A-Frames, and tentalows. Pura Vida Retreat and Spa offers a variety of enchanting accommodations scattered across meticulously landscaped grounds, each designed to delight with views of lush gardens and majestic mountains. The suites include Pagoda Suite, Lila Suite, Prana Suite and Zendo Suite. The rooms include Tri-Level, Kiva and Vista. Wi-Fi will be available at no charge in the restaurant, the wellness center, and near reception.

Gentle Meditative Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica Program


In this meditation and yoga retreat, you will slow down and take a break from the stress of your busy life. You will nurture yourself, release pain and fatigue, then start fresh. You will also restore range of motion and ease of movement in joints as well as the spine. Increase your flexibility, balance, and strength while learning to observe thoughts as well as emotions that create tension.

Gentle and restorative yoga

Your daily yoga classes will be gentle and include many restorative poses. You will use props and chairs for comfortable as well as relaxing alignment. During this gentle and restorative yoga, you will have a deep relaxation and restore full range of movement, eliminate pain as well as increasing flexibility. Your balance and strength will be the focus of the retreat. You will also have a group excursion to five beautiful waterfalls, an animal reserve, and botanical gardens.

Meditation and breathing practices

You will learn many types of meditation: seated, walking, and form a recline. You will be presented mantra meditation, breath, and energy flow meditation, inner smile, mindfulness, as well as guided imagery. In addition, you will also learn ancient breathing practices (pranayama) for an increased energy, balance, healing, and calm.

You will have musical evening programs that will include spiritual music, chanting, dances of universal peace, and discovering your life’s passion. Elaine Silver will also present.

Yoga Nidra

You will be taught and practice yoga Nidra (conscious relaxation) daily. You will be guided into a deep relaxation of the body while exploring finer levels of mental activity, transcending thought, and connecting with your unbounded nature. During yoga Nidra, there will be a shift from normal waking consciousness to the tranquilizing and balancing power of the parasympathetic nervous system.

Yoga Nidra has the potential to heal all past traumatic interpersonal relationships, which can empower you to release the vital energy held hostage by blame, anger, guilt, jealousy, hatred, fear, and attachment. Yoga Nidra is the master key for self-transformation.

Included excursions

You will have a group excursion to five beautiful waterfalls, an animal reserve, and botanical gardens.

Elaine Silver is a spiritual musician that will provide live music in the evenings during the retreat. Elaine will present evening programs that will include spiritual music, chanting, dances of universal peace and discovering your life's passion.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Couples Yoga Retreats will pick you up from the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 30 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
