Yoga Retreats (3)
From her first experience of living abroad in a different culture in Indonesia, Ann fell in love with both yoga and exploration. She teached for few years full-time in Belgium after returning and decided to pursue her dream to go abroad and travel & teach, grow and share. Following her heart brought her to Costa Dulce Retreat in Nicaragua. With her classes, she wishes to support the growth of consciousness, presence & unconditional love in this world. She does so by integrating insights of yoga, meditation, conscious communication, western science -psychology & neuroscience.
Monica is a certified 500-hour teacher with over 600-hours of training from India, the United States, Canada, and Colombia. Yoga helped her reconnect with herself, her dreams, and her power to change and create her life. And so she did in 2015 when she left her country, her career, her relationship, and the societally approved path to more fearlessly follow her heart and dreams. She teaches yoga as a tool to help us to become free of the past, social conditioning, unconscious habit patterns, limiting beliefs, and our small separate sense of self in order to rediscover our true nature.

L’endroit est vraiment magnifique et on y mange très bien! Je recommande cet endroit fortement pour son emplacement, sa nourriture et le concept des petites maisons est parfait ! J’ai passé une très belle semaine !

"A fantastic week"
I spent 8 delightful days at Costa Dulce on Surf and Yoga Retreat. Not sure I can write a review to give it the praise it deserves but let me try.
Everything about Costa Dulce has been thought through for best community and environmental outcomes. Starting with minimal impact layout of cosy huts. Then the partnerships with local wildlife group. They operate a turtle hatchery and animal rescue centre on the property (I got lucky enough to see an injured sloth being handfed and baby turtles being released into the ocean at sunset). The food is incredible; healthy, delicious seasonal produce sourced locally, served in a communal setting.
The daily surf lessons in my package were a blast! One-on-one instruction is given by young local guys with knowledge of local surf conditions. They were thoughtful and patient. They worked hard to make sure we stayed safe and had a great time.
On the yoga, the teacher, Ann, runs a practice that is both physically and mentally strengthening. Her overall philosophy mirrors the good vibes of Costa Dulce itself.

A phenomenal time!. Tyson has created something wonderful there that's much larger than providing an experience for guests. The entire staff is kind and welcoming, but his effort stretches to the community and the locals (with great jobs, schooling, guidance on sustainability, etc...), and the environment (forestation conservation and turtle preservation). The place has such a great vibe. As for the amenities, there's:
* Yoga with Ann - a gorgeous spirit and highly intellectual mind that guides you to peace and happiness. I am hoping to link up in other retreats or offers soon!
* A massive, open, and guarded beach, with only a handful of surfers to contend with. Staff on the beach (for boards, drinks, turtle conservatory, et al) are all attentive and chill. Tim, I love your caring and passion.
* Trips to an active volcano or the mercado, or to San Juan, or for hikes to a waterfall (thanks Juner!)
* The prepared meals were exceptional! Completely fresh, varied, delicious, and a time for gathering, reflection, discussion with all the staff and other guests. The view from there (or anywhere on the grounds) are killer!
* The staff overall was my kind of people. Kate has the most sweet disposition, and Kit is a total down, chill dude. We all sang and danced and sweated (in the "igloo") and laughed and celebrated many birthdays.
Not only is this a great place to get away, but you get the heartwarming feeling that you're contributing to something larger.

costa dulce is such a wonderful place and makes you feel like you've found paradise.
The daily yoga sessions were a great mix between asanas, breathing and mindfulness in a beautiful open shala overlooking the ocean - perfect to calm the mind, inspire & reflect.
The surf classes were 1:1 with amazing local surfers, who ensure that the classes are really based on the individual level. so esp as a complete beginner one can see great progress quickly.
all people from staff, surf instructors and yoga teachers are so warm & welcoming, that the entire place has a familiar atmosphere.
especially love how embedded costa dulce is with the local community & nature and how engaged they are in environmental protection, education and local support. for sure the most authentic and responsible eco retreat i've come across.
so overall, just a perfect place!
