The hotel

The hotel was chosen because of the slow living concept that can be felt immediately as you arrive. A project that connect the farm with memories, nature, materials, family and being local.

Accommodation

There are 6 rooms – 3 suites, 1 double superior and 2 double rooms. They are all different, all adapted to the pre-existing old farm buildings where the whitewash of the walls, the levelled concrete and the cork prevails.

Hammam and spa treatment

You can experience the Hammam and the ancient Mediterranean tradition of Arab baths available at Companhia das Culturas. There are also therapeutic full-body massages with exclusive use of 8950-COSMETICA products.

This introduction to mindfulness program was designed with the aim of providing you with a time to learn, practice and relax. By enrolling in this program, you will experience an energy boost on the level of the body and mind. The 4 sessions are held on 2 consecutive days, mornings and afternoons, combining theory with meditation and Yin yoga practices.

Content of the sessions

Session 1: Intro to mindfulness

You start by exploring the concept of mindfulness, what it consists of and how it is practiced. You will conduct an informal introduction practice conscious eating and a formal meditation practice called body scan. In order for practice throughout the stay to be continuous, each session will end with a mindful investigation and activity plan to practice until the next session.

Session 2: Emotions

You take a look at the message behind each emotion, and how you can manage its ups and downs through mindfulness practice. By the end of this session, you will be able to recognize, manage and mindfully respond to challenging emotional states.

Session 3: Mindful communication

This session is dedicated to exploring how you can communicate in a mindful way and achieve the best results both at a professional and relational level (family, partners or co-workers).

Session 4: Integrating mindfulness into everyday life

At the end of the program, you gather all the knowledge acquired and prepare a plan in order to integrate the practice of mindfulness into your daily life. This plan consists of the wise combination of formal and informal practices that helped you to achieve your goals.

Practices

During your stay, you will learn a variety of mindfulness-based meditation techniques, such as mindful eating, breath awareness, body scanning, walking, and Yin yoga.

Day 4 - Departure

  • 08:30 Breakfast will be available from 8:30 am
  • 12:00 Check-out will start at 12 pm. Return home calmly. If you have time, enjoy the morning and after breakfast take a walk in the countryside or on the beach. They wish you an excellent journey back home!

Companhia das Culturas is located on the edge of the Castro Marim Nature Reserve - Algarve. You can enjoy the beach 1.5 kilometers away, visit the historic village of Castro Marim, which is 4 kilometers away, and you can also go for a walk or boat ride along the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve, which is 6 kilometers away.

  • Nearest beach (Green Beach), 2.5 kilometers - 5 minutes by car, 25 minutes walk
  • Cacela Velha, 7 kilometers - 10 minutes by car, 1 hour and 20 minutes walk (A charming historic village with stunning views over the Ria Formosa and some of the most picturesque beaches in the Algarve)
  • Tavira, 18 kilometers - 20 minutes by car

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please arrange your flight to arrive at Faro Airport (FAO) or Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). You can take a transfer to the hotel, 40 minutes from Faro Airport. The Yellow Fish Transfer is recommended.

Arrival by train

Take the train in Faro - Stop at Castro Marim station. The station is 300 meters away from the property. As you arrive, you may contact the hotel to pick you up.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 19.36% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 7 days before arrival.
