Circle Yoga Shala, HC 70 Box 544, County Road 24, Jasper, AR 72641, United States

Immersive Yoga Teacher Training USA

This month-long residential program is conducted every June. It is an offering of immersion in practice, in teaching, in community, and the whole of yoga. Each week has a half-day off for hiking, floating the National Buffalo River, riding horses, exploring crystal caves, or however you’d like to spend your time. Fayetteville (home of the Razorbacks) and Rogers (top five cities in the US to live) are just 1 hour and 30 minutes away if you’d like a day in the city.

During this training, you will be staying at Circle Yoga Shala in either a shared dorm, a shared room, a private double room, or a private room. Please bring your own linens, pillows, blankets, and towels so that Circle Yoga Shala may continue to keep its prices low. The school is also a living farm. The property consists of approximately half-acre organic vegetable gardens, edible flowers and herbs, an orchard, chickens, and horses.

The Shala is an approved farm with the World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms Organization, WWOOF. They focus on sustainability practices, including composting and water conservation. Life here is a living example of the inter-connectedness of all things. Circle Yoga Shala is a labor of love and an intense desire for conscious living. They started with raw land and potential.

Since their beginning in June of 2009, they have converted an existing barn into sleeper spaces and practice space, added a couple of sleeper cabins and an outdoor practice pavilion, expanded an orchard and gardens, and added many animals. Most of the work has been done by Circle Yoga Shala and the majority of their building materials have come from the land, except for the luxury home which was built by local contractors. The rooms are beautiful, and also affordable to provide an opportunity to fully immerse in learning. The Shala is on healing land.

Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

Circle Yoga Shala has been registered with the national Yoga Alliance since 1999 and their yoga therapy program was accredited by the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapy) in 2019. Furthermore, as of January 2021, they have completed the Yoga Alliance up-leveling process, which ensures their YTT 200 program meets the highest standards of training in the marketplace. They also have an affiliate school, Janes House Studio in St Charles, MO. at the 200-hour level. All of their teaching staff are an RYT500 and/or a C-IAYT.

Yoga has only one practical purpose: to help you relax so deeply that you recover the delightful experience of your true nature as unencumbered, unrestricted consciousness. This is not to be confused with making no effort. Yoga happens when ‘effort and ease’ are not separate actions. Circle Yoga Shala teaches you what is foundational to all of the styles of yoga you may encounter or have an interest in teaching, which means a thorough grounding in the five techniques of Hatha yoga: stillness (asana), rhythm (Vinyasa), breath (pranayama), integration (bandha) and presence (Drushti).

You will learn how to language and sequence these techniques in ways that continuously reveal their wholeness, and that invite infinite creativity on your part. How you arrange them and establish a dominant focus is what moves them in the direction of “styles” like Restorative, Vinyasa flow, alignment-based, and more. Teachers-in-training receives extensive technical knowledge needed to interface in today’s marketplace. What makes the program unique and of the highest quality is how they deliver that information to you: in guided practice teaching sessions that grow in complexity to help you respond effortlessly to all of the various situations that may arise in a public class setting.

Private training site

Circle Yoga Shala has a private training site for all of their teacher training programs. They video record each intensive, so in addition to your online manual, you have access to lectures, sequences, practices, and more on the site. The site is also used for homework assignments, and being in touch with the program faculty. This resource also allows you to continue growing your knowledge via the digital platform even after your training.
