How the training works
This online Yin yoga teacher training can be completed in just 6 days or over 2 weeks, this will be decided together with the student. There will be live one-to-one sessions, run on Zoom. The program includes a Yin Yoga manual and a final assignment.
Timing of sessions (Costa Rica, GMT-6)
The timezone for the live sessions will be Costa Rica time. The exact time of live sessions will be decided together with the student. However, the time slot available will be from 7 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. Costa Rica time.

- Yin yoga philosophy (more or less 3 hours)
Day 2
Live yoga class (1 hour and 30 minutes)
Live lecture
- Anatomy of Yin yoga (part 1)
- Principles of Yin yoga (more or less 2 hours)
Day 3
Live yoga class (1 hour and 30 minutes)
Live lecture
- Anatomy of Yin yoga (part 2)
- Chinese meridians (more or less 2 hours)
Day 4
Live yoga class (1 hour and 30 minutes)
Live lecture
- Chinese meridians (part 2)
- Yin yoga postures in details (more or less 2 hours)
Day 5
Live yoga class (1 hour and 30 minutes)
Live lecture
- Yin yoga postures in details (more or less 2 hours)
Day 6
Live lecture
- The art of teaching
- Mindfulness meditation and revision of written test (more or less 2 hours)
Live lecture
- Yoga Assignment - class sequenced by the student and feedback (more or less 1 hour and 30 minutes)
There will be also a home study assignment to be presented later on via email.
Curriculum
In this training you will explore:
- Yin yoga asana practice— how, why, and when to practice this style safely and effectively
- Yin yoga philosophy (Taoist principles, yin vs yang)
- Yoga Anatomy (connective tissues, compression vs tension, fascia structure)
- Introduction to the Chinese meridians and organ health (practice sequences for the kidneys, liver, etc.)
- Balancing the Yin style with a Yang practice to support structural strength and stability
- The primary focus of breath in asana: length, depth, and direction
- Mindfulness in asana and meditation practice
- The art of teaching and how to sequence a Yin yoga class
- The use of touch and hands-on adjustments
- Skillful verbal communication
As a final assessment, there will be a written test and a practical teaching experience, where every student will create his/her own Yin yoga sequence.
