My yoga retreat at Cepik Villa was by far the highlight of my Bali vacation! The room, grounds, and surrounding area is just gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and made me feel like royalty. I had full, fun days planned for me which included afternoon tea and a sweet snack, along with time to relax on my own. Ayu is a wonderful yoga instructor who personalized my sessions for me each morning. The cleansing temple trip was a very special experience, as well as the chakra massage. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful yoga retreat that requires no planning. I have wonderful memories from Cepik Villa and hope to return there again some day.

I come here almost every year, it's one of my favorite spots in Bali! Now you can also do yoga here and they have two very good massage therapists as well! The staff is exellent, Agung can fix anything!

Frankly i would rather not too many people know about this - the trend in Bali is for an area to be discovered and then over-run like what has happened to the formerly quiet Seminyak which is now in our opinion, almost out of control.

Sidemen is reached up either a balinese "main road"or we chose the spectacular winding back road from Manggis after a week in candidasa.

We had heavily researched Sidemen and were not disappointed. Cepik has i think only 6 rooms or so - intimate and special. We picked the top floor Sunrise villa - lovely view over the rice paddies to the hills and also over the school below ( i hope i can find a link to review a visit there). This school is for the equivalent of junior high school to teach the Balinese culture for those who have finished Primary but parents cant afford secondary - every day below our window was song and dance at 4pm - we paid a visit and made a donation - it is supported by a wealthy woman who owns the adjoining resort. a great hour or so. Very uplifting. Also do the 3 hour rice paddy walk through the hotel - $30 for a couple - brilliant.

We hired a scooter, as we always do - really the best way to get around. Most of the wide range of warungs are on the resorts road between it and the main Sidemen village.( see our other restaurant reviews).

Pool charming and peaceful, surprising range of food in house - frankly we were not expecting it to be as good as it was. And Rusty the cute cat comes and sits with you. We ran out of time to eat everywhere we wanted to in the time. Staff charming and could not do enough. Room immaculate comfortable well appointed - there was a problem with TV reception but who cares in Bali?

We went to the street market in Sidemen twice - a real experience- we were the only white folk there and in fact hardly saw another westerner the whole stay though the French seem to have heard about it as we met met more French than anyone!

Enjoy Sidemen while it is still unspoilt and very affordable.

    We will be back.

We were upgraded to the sunrise suite upon request and WOW it is a stunning room. The view is breathtaking. Huge comfy bed. Large bathroom with big bath also with a beautiful private view. Very spacious. Quiet and peaceful.

The staff is excellent. The grounds are well maintained. Breakfast was outstanding. Views from the restaurant are incredible. It was very relaxing! So glad we visited Sidemen. The staff helped arrange a motor bike, hiking, and transport to our next destination.

Our only complaints are that there was a brief period on our first night where there was no water. It was resolved by the next morning, but it was a minor inconvenience. The electricity also went out once on our last day, but that was also resolved quickly as they have a back-up generator. The Internet was unreliable and slow and many of the movie channels went out after a few minutes. All and all it was still a wonderful stay and I we would highly recommend it.

This is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay! Sideman is a quite place where you can experience Bali without all the traffic and crowds. We stayed in the sunrise suite which has floor to ceiling windows and great views! The best part of this hotel are the incredibly friendly and kind staff members, who cannot do enough to help you and are always smiling. They even took our laundry into town for it to be done for us at no extra charge!

    I highly recommend this place.

One important recommendation: while you are here, please don't miss meeting the beautiful children from the Pasraman Vidya Giri Foundation, who practice Balinese dance and music every day, right next door down the hill, from 4-6 pm every day. They are so happy to meet travelers and teach them all about Balinese culture. Meeting these kids was the highlight of our trip to Bali. Thank you very much to the staff of this beautiful hotel!

The sunrise suite with it's views through the large windows and it's spacious interior is fantastic. There were lots of ants in the room, but fortunately nothing worse, and they left us in peace... It was a very relaxing stay.

The premises are beautiful and it was fun finding one's way through the labyrinth of trails and - yes - lots of steps, which we didn't mind at all. Cute restaurant verandas. A romantic dinner was set up for us at a separate place with lots of candles and charme. Good breakfast and excellent dinner.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They arranged a driver for us every day and had good suggestions what to do in what time and where to take a guide.

It's a very rural area, which we loved. Watched the rice farmers and the kids practicing dance and Gamelan music every day from our room. To see something else, you need a car and driver, which is no problem (60 US$ per full day). We were out and about every day, seeing a lot of East Bali: hiked on Mt. Batur, from Tenganan to Tirgangga and through the temples Pura Lentuyang; visited the temples Batur, Besakih, Goa Lawah as well as Klungkung and Ubud.

The climate is perfect, as it's about 300 m altitude and cooler than at the coast.

    Avis cepik!

A magical place in Sideman with the best restaurant in town. It is here that we felt the perfect balance and harmony. The yoga class with Ayu, who has a big and generous heart is one of the greatest teachers ever, was great !! It was not only a beautiful open air studio overlooking gorgeous scenery, It was simply wonderful and meaningful. We learned a lot from her teachings and will pursue our new yoga practice.

Many thanks to Ayu and Ketut and the fantastic staff that gave us good tips for our journey in Bali !

We recommend this place to everyone, if you are not planning to go to Sidemen, you may want to include a stay here to relax, enjoy good food, the pool, walks in the rice paddles and of course, the best yoga class !

    Again, many thanks Ayu.

I highly recommend Cepik Villa for your vacation getaway and/or yoga retreat. Sidemen is a beautiful quaint village with views of rice fields and majestic mountains. The resort is picturesque with beautifully manicured landscaping, a gorgeous swimming pool, comfortable sitting areas and an outdoor spa and outdoor restaurant. Surrounded by the sounds of nature it's a great escape from the busyness of Ubud. Owners Ayu and Ketut and all their staff are most gracious hosts with warm welcoming smiles ready and willing to accommodate your every need and desire. The highlights for me were the comfort of the enclosed room with air conditioning, the traditional Balinese Dinner safely prepared by an exquisite Chef, the spa treatments-high quality massage, facial, and body treatments for a great price by practitioners who were both experienced and professional, the hike through the village (best to do early in the morning), and my most favorite experience was the Yin Yoga class with Ayu. I will definitely go back and I recommend to all my friends and family who will travel to Bali.

We found this place from Tripadvisor and we are amazed by our find. The place was tranquil and serene. Very quiet for a nice and relaxing holiday. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The staff prepared a takeaway breakfast early in the morning when we went trekking to Mt Batur. They also organised a free massage afterward. We were absolutely happy and would love to come back there one day.

From the quiet scenery, quiet roads, friendly people and staff Cepik Villas and the beautiful area of Sideman have it all. We were wowed by the scenery, arrived at Cepik a Villas where we were made to feel special and welcome, more beautiful vistas as we walked by the pool, bungalows and yoga shala to our room then wow our room. The view from the all glass wall of the surrounding rice paddies is simply stunning. A wall of green with a beautiful fringe of vines hanging down. This place is awesome, rooms, food (great oatmeal for breakfast) dinner was amazing. I can't say enough it was all great. Just be careful if you go for a walk late in the day. I got lost but that was my fault. It's all beautiful, natural and the way Bali was and not many tourists around. My favorite place yet.

We stayed for 5 nights in November 2015. Accommodation is very comfortable, clean and stylish. Staff here are superb, Amon and Made particularly could not do enough to help but all of the staff are lovely, very professional and do a great job. We enjoyed the rice fields walk and hired drivers for a couple of days to travel around the area more. All of the guides and drivers were very good and happy to share their local knowledge and were flexible to what we were interested in doing and seeing. We enjoyed the hotel food, there are not too many restaurants out this way but we are more interested in the local lifestyle and the very beautiful environment and it is a great place to relax. We will definitely return to Cepik Villa.

Out of three months travelling around Indonesia and South East Asia Cepik Villas was our absolute favorite. Unbelievable room, so clean and lovely to stay in. Staff are incredibly helpful and so nice. During our stay my girlfriend had a ruptured eardrum from diving and the manager Amon organised someone to take us to a local hospital and to translate everything so the problem was looked at. On top of this he and his staff were always super helpful for any requests (painkillers, superglue etc) we had. The situation is amazing and Sideman is the Bali you would dream of. We stayed in the garden roof room which had an amazing view and was a beautiful place to stay which we extended numerous times. Very very clean rooms, lovely bathroom and such a huge bargain. Would highly highly recommend and I really hope we can come back to this incredibly special place one day. Thank you Amon and everybody at Cepik Villas.

Getting here is an ordeal, but once you arrive it is pure bliss. Lovely landscaping and views, the villas have every amenity you could ask for, and the sounds of nature are superb. Not a long drive to the whitewater rafting drop in point at Muncan which is why we came.

This hotel/villa is very nice, from a very friendly staff to excellent room with a very nice view and surprisingly a very good food (not like other hotels I visited in Bali). If you like to rest in a very good place then this place is recommended but for me Sideman wasn't that appealing.

We have just spent five days at Cepik and was an absolute dream. It's at the far end of the road so very quiet, there are only four bungalows and we were very impressed with ours. It was very spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean. It overlooks paddy fields and chilli plantations depending on season. It has a great little pool to cool off in as well as its own restaurant and fine chef. What really made the trip for us though was the staff who were just amazing, so friendly and helpful and always cheerful. We always think if the staff are happy we will have a good time. They can arrange trips for you to a variety of places and if you struggle look up things to do in sideman and you will find a guide called Kadec who is excellent as a fuse as well. We saw many couples fly through Sidemen and consequently miss much of the beauty of the area, it's a very peaceful, tranquil area that should not be missed.

I stayed here 1 night with my daughter as part of Bali trip Sanur-Ubud-Lovina-Sidemen-Sanur-Ubud. This is a very nice "resort" with small quantities of bungalows. You get all the attention from staff. More-over the bungalow we occupied was spacious with astonishing view on the rice-fields in front. The bungalow was rather new and had all things to wish for. We also enjoyed dinner here.... Delicious prepared. Breakfast was Basic ++ with all sorts of fruit mix-drinks available. Would certainly return here again on next trip, when in the area. Highly recommended.

I would definitely recommend Cepik Villa. I picked the place because the bathroom looked clean. It turns out to be more than just that. The location is dreamy, but I must say it's not for a location for those who like to go shopping or bar-hopping. There is none of that. But that was the reason we picked the area. The staff will treat you like family. The environment within the property and around the property are something that we will never forget. We were fortunate enough to meet the owners and they, too, took their time to chat with us. The way the bedroom is set up was awesome, the cleanliness was awesome, the food was great, but most of all the Staff represent true Balinese people - their friendliness and smiles will remain in our hearts forever.

A lot of great comments have been written about Cepik Villa and indeed they are all true. Truly a wonderful experience in the beautiful Tabola Village. My family and i spent 4 awesome nights at Cepik Villa with no regrets. I would like to focus this review on the beautiful staff. Local young men and women with the charm and honesty that can only come from people that are enjoying themselves and DO like the guests they look after. My family and I felt special. We felt like these beautiful people were our friends and they liked us. Thank goodness there is still a place in Bali where one can feel this warmth. Tabola is the only place i visit in Bali these days. So, if you find yourself in Tabola, go and say gedday, have a lovely meal and drink or stay the night. Anom, you are a true gentleman and professional and asset to Cepik Villa. Thank you very much. And, of course thank you to all of the wonderful friends at Cepik for looking after my family and me. Your smiles will last with me forever. David, Sam, Eliza and Brady.

My host Ayu and her husband Ketut with their daughter were the perfect Balinese family who adopted me to their family when I was out in Sideman doing my day trek tour with my private yoga class with Guru (Pak) Putu Sidiada. My reason for going to Sideman was more to do my private advanced yoga practise with guru. I was pleasantly surprised when Ayu and Ketut came to personally meet me and to welcome me. The setting is so beautiful that I my eyes started to tear when I was in deep meditation before my yoga. I felt the incredible energy of the jungle, and the Villa so beautiful my breath was taken away so many times. Cepik is so beautiful and so exclusive. Ayu and Anon (Villa Manager) let me go in the villa rooms to have a look and I'm so convinced that I will definiely be back to Sideman, this time would be to stay and not just a day visit. Thank you again Ayu and Ketut for your personal and warm hospitality.

Cepik Villa was fantastic! Such a beautiful hotel surrounded by an extraordinary view of the country side of Bali. Service was outstanding from the beginning - we came to Sidemen wanting to experience Mt Agung and white water rafting which was all arranged by the manager of Cepik. He made it so easy and provided us with great drivers and guides. I was sad to leave such a beautiful place.
