During your yoga retreat, you will be staying at Kirpal Meditation and Ecological Center. It offers a range of accommodation options from a shared room with private or hared bathroom and a private room with shared bathroom. Kirpal Meditation and Ecological Center has a 1000-square foot yoga hale for small groups and events with a phenomenal view of the Pacific. Their teak meditation pavilion was made in Bali - they use it as a special place for prayer and reflection.

Catherine Allen is a level 5 certified Forrest Yoga Teacher, Forrest Yoga Guardian, E-RYT 500. She began teaching yoga in 2001. Catherine has studied several forms of yoga, including Ashtanga yoga, Iyengar yoga, and Pralaya yoga, and completed a month-long Hatha yoga immersion in India. After receiving the honored title of Forrest Yoga Guardian, she became one of the first Forrest Yoga Guardians to be authorized by Ana Forrest to teach the 200-hour Forrest Yoga Foundation teacher training and 9-day Forrest Yoga advanced teacher training.
Heidi Sormaz, Ph.D., E-RYT 500, is the founder and director of Fresh Yoga. She has studied yoga for 19 years and taught for 12 years. Heidi is a Forrest Yoga Mentor Teacher and has assisted Ana Forrest in her national workshops and teacher training. She currently teaches the Forrest Yoga 200-hour foundation teacher training, Forrest Yoga advanced teacher training, teaches and designs the fresh yoga 200-hour teacher training, travels nationally to present workshops and teacher training.
This retreat will be held in Puna District, Hawaii, USA. Kirpal Meditation and Ecological Center (KMEC) is located in Pahoa. Being located a half mile from the beach, this ocean view sanctuary has access to swimming, fresh fruits, snorkeling and soaking in the famous thermal warm ponds. This spacious and open 11-acre property is surrounded by a buffer of jungle and features more than 150 trees with 30 or so kinds of tropical fruit. You can taste the freshest fruit possible whenever they are ripe!
Isaac Kepo’okalani Hale Park is only a half mile away, one of the few safe places for swimming on the rugged, extremely scenic, coast. A body-temperature warm-pond park is just a half mile further, as well as excellent snorkeling in the wave-protected Kapoho Tide Pools with dozens of corals, and thousands of brightly colored fish.
The nearly constant lava-flow area is just a half hour to the west. It is perfect for a sunset or sunrise, and hiking where you’ll often see a cascade of red-hot lava plunging 50 or 60 feet into the ocean boiling below. A shopping area, a food market, and delicious restaurants are 10 minutes away in Pahoa Town. Several large farmer markets operate on the weekends too.
