The first part of the journey will focus on yoga, meditation and healing for 5 nights at the Nirarta Sacred Yoga Retreat Center in the high mountains of Sidemen in Eastern Bali at the footsteps of the Agung Volcano. Nirarta was the first person to bring Buddhism to Bali. Bali Dharma is the modern belief of the Balinese people which is a mixture of the original Bali Aga an animistic belief where every stone and plant has a spirit, together with the Hindu beliefs which were brought during the pilgrimages from India, and Buddhism - thanks to the Nirarta, the first Buddhist teacher to reach Bali. This combination of beliefs on Bali makes Bali one of the most exotic cultures in the world today. Instead of shunning other beliefs they took the best of each and blended them in a way that brings harmony to the culture and the land.

The second part of the journey will be in Ubud, the artist, culinary, and cultural center of Bali. There we will visit 2 very sacred ancient temples, and have a chance to see the great artistry in Bali. You will be 2 nights at the Art House Villa in Ubud. There we will have yoga sessions in the mornings, and we will also have healing treatments throughout the afternoons.

You will also receive a special blessing at the sacred water temple - a unique and auspicious experience. There will also have the opportunity to watch the very spiritual fire dance and trance dance.

Shamanic healing

A Balinese shamanic healer and priest will be with us for our journey. This will be an opportunity to regain lost flexibility and experience healing on many levels with shamanic energy healing given through a special pressure point therapy.

Fateh and your shamanic healer have been working together about specific pressure points on blocked channels to open up the body, including points to prevent cancer, and cure precancerous situations. This is also a great way to oxygenate the body.

Blocks in the body cause disease of various types and releasing these blocks is one of the most healing experiences. Blocks can appear at any time during your life, can be caused by accidents, poor diet, inadequate exercise, emotional traumas, or loss of a love one. Blocks exist on so many levels.

The retreat offered is very personalized and each student will work with the shaman personally, and learn what points they need to do to get the blocks out of their own situations. Each student will have 3 treatments with the shaman.

Additional treatments can also be scheduled upon request. Your treatment times will be scheduled upon arrival in Bali.

Free time

When you are not in a treatment session, then you will have free time to enjoy the sights in Ubud, and the wonderful environment at Nirarta Center when we are in Sideman, or to do an alternative optional activity as visiting one of the other sacred temples, hunting for artwork or taking a traditional Balinese massage.

"My wife and I stayed in the butterfly room - it was big and awesome. They collected our dirty laundry in the mornings and had it clean and folded by the afternoon! We could hear the waterfall from bed :-) and could enjoy the wildlife of the rain forest from our private balcony. The property is filled with breathtaking spots including waterfalls that can be hiked, mountain trails, and a deck for yoga classes. We paid extra for the on site dinner each night and it was better than we could have imagined. We basically had a private chef and server while we enjoyed the ambience of the candles, waterfall, and incense. The staff and owners were always calm, smiling, and helpful. We did lose electricity (along with the rest of the town) for a few hours during a storm- so make sure that you bring a flashlight. We can't wait to visit again!"

"What a wonderful place to catch a break. The setting next to the little waterfall, in the jungle, relaxing atmosphere, great vegan food (we only had the breakfast), friendly staff, close to attractions, ... We just loved our week there. The only down side is the road close to the hotel. When the trucks come down the hill they can be pretty loud. In addition there seems to be regular road construction that easily adds 30 minutes to your drive."

"If you are looking for peaceful and healing, this is the place to go. If in addition you want to enjoy excellent vegan food, book your trip."

    "Hello, "

"I want to write this review, even though I have never been to this property. I had a lot of loss this year. I had a friend who went to this beautiful place to help her through her hard time. I made my reservation with Fateh and I was blown away from the beginning of the journey. She called me in the states to make sure that I was comfortable and that I knew everything about the resort and the answer any questions. She sent all my paperwork exactly when she stated and took my deposit for the stay. I am a single mom and after much searching I was not able to find a sitter for my 7 year old son for ten days. I wrote Fateh regrettably and she said "not to worry and that she would hold my deposit for another time". Well, last minute, I found a sitter and wrote her back. She was amazing stating that she would love to see me still and that I could still get my reservation back if I wanted. So, tomorrow I am suppose to leave and got struck with Strep Throat and unable to fly. This resort was not in my cards this time but I will recommend Fateh to anyone that crosses her path. What a wonderful way to run a business and make people feel comfortable. "

"My husband Dante and I recently returned from our trip to Costa Rica at the Waterfall Villas. We had an amazing, unforgettable experience during our time there. First off, we are vegan which is why we decided to stay at this particular resort. The food was out of this world! Everything was so fresh, the dishes were very creative, and the service was top notch. After eating there all week Dante and I agree that we both need to step up our vegan cooking game! It was cool because each meal was a surprise. It's safe to say every meal wowed us!Both Franco and Fateh made us feel like we were right at home. Because we had visited on their off season, they upgraded our room to a jacuzzi room which was such a very generous and nice surprise! Fateh has such an interesting background and is a true inspiration. I did yoga for the first time with her and I learned a lot from her just in that one hour class. Franco is awesome as well. Dante and I interacted mostly with him and he was a joy to be around. He took great care of us, and coordinated all of our excursions. He helped us stay worry free by setting up all of our taxis and telling us what was needed for each tour. I would highly recommend booking the tours during your stay if you like adventure. We had the perfect set up, 5 full days, 3 tours days and 2 days to relax at the villas. The Manuel Antonio tour, whale watching and the horseback riding to the waterfalls were so much fun -Life changing adventures that we will never forget. This resort is unlike any other resort we have stayed at. It's small, personal and very peaceful and laid back. We really loved how relaxing and secluded we felt from the outside world. It was nice to disconnect, no TVs, and we did not use any internet. We did a lot of reading and exploring the waterfalls and rainforest. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained and the staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed the entire time. This is not your typical all inclusive honey moon resort, but instead a unique, jungle, nature escape! We loved the Bali themed designs and art throughout the room and resort. The fact that it was an Eco friendly made it that much better as well. To stay here, you must be appreciative and respectful of nature. There were absolutely no insects or bugs of any sort in our room, but there are however many forms of wildlife outdoors. We embraced every second of this and loved being in this type of environment. Every night we slept with the screen door open so we could hear the running waterfall and rainstorms. It was a peaceful heavenly paradise!Overall, I would highly recommended visiting the waterfall villas. I am more inspired than ever to continue to do my best to live an EcoFriendly vegan lifestyle. Dante and I would definitely consider visiting the villas again. We are really missing those meals right now and the constant sound of the waterfalls. As I mentioned, this is not a typical resort like atmosphere, but instead a very personal relaxing escape, and a chance to really disconnect and recharge."

"This is the ideal place to spend a honeymoon. It's not a commercial place dropped on an island with your typical tacky music and dripping with corporate sweat. It's an amazing retreat center tucked away in a serene jungle on the south Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The best part? The food. My husband and I wanted a vegan honeymoon and found that at most places they tell you to just show up and tell the chef you're vegan once you get there and they'll figure something out. I didn't want to pay all that money to have all my food just be something a chef with no experience making vegan food threw together at the last minute to accommodate me. Here, they make gourmet vegan meals that are so fresh and delicious. They gave us three courses for every dinner, fresh juice or smoothies with every meal and amazing coffee with breakfast. Franco and Fateh are the owners and took care of everything for us. Anything we needed they took care of immediately. We planned all our activities the day before and Franco just quickly made the reservations for us, including the cab rides, so all we had to do was show up. The resort itself is amazingly beautiful. Since we went during the wet season, there were some openings at the hotel and we were upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi! That was a really nice surprise when we arrived. We could fall asleep and wake up to the calming sounds of the rainforest. Every day we looked forward to the food we would have at each meal! That's not something that usually happens for vegans. Since it was our honeymoon, the last thing we wanted was to be overcharged for under-par bowls of veggies. Honestly, if you are vegan and looking for more than the kind of resort you see in commercials on TV, this is the place for you. We were able to try all sorts of adventure sports that we never thought we would try and get a feel for the real community of people and understand the way of life for the people of Costa Rica.I had a great time chatting with the locals and hearing all their stories about what happens every day there. Everyone was so friendly. Also, Costa Rica is so green! Not only a scenic and beautiful natural landscape, but everyone is so concerned with conservation. They coexist so well with the wildlife and the plant life and make a huge effort on recycling in ways the US absolutely does not. It felt great seeing how the community all cared so much for their environment and all made a great effort to conserve the earth they live on and reduce unnecessary waste. I not only had a fantastic time, but I learned so much about a part of the world I had never been before. I'll remember it for many years to come. I highly recommend this hotel, and urge you to give your business to honest people like Fateh and Franco who promote a compassionate and peaceful lifestyle."

"I took this trip by myself. I was looking to go somewhere and just decompress from my busy lifestyle. The Waterfall Villas offered just that, disconnected from tv and phone it was such a relaxing and much needed vaca for me. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been on my travels. Every morning I woke up to hummingbirds greeting me at my window, I did yoga with Fateh on the deck right by the Waterfall and hiked to different Waterfalls around Costa Rica. The food was absolutely amazing. Never thought I would love vegan food that much. Fateh and Franco were so accommodating and created a magical experience. I can't wait to go back."

"Waterfall Villas was an absolutely amazing place to stay in Dominical. My husband and I, coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, knew we wanted to stay in a tropical, jungle-y place in Costa Rica. We definitely got what we wanted! The hotel is an absolutely beautiful Balinese-style property. The rooms have bamboo beds with gorgeous canopies, the shower is an open shower behind a gorgeous tiled wall with sink, and there are awesome little artistic flourishes all about the room. It's about 6 kilometers up from the beach, so you escape much of the humidity of Dominical by staying here. They also serve incredible vegan food that tastes so fresh and wonderful. There are lizards running about, and you hear the frogs at night outside your bedroom window. You are literally in the jungle, so be prepared to see some incredible things. This is not the place to stay if you want the lame Best Western experience. This is a little slice of the wild, if the wild also included beautiful, peaceful shelter."

"I work in the hotel industry in which I appreciate good service and well designed aesthetics of a hotel stay. This place tops many and the attention to every detail is impressive. First off, your room is located rate by a waterfall where you become absorbed by all the elements (soothing sound from water, alive jungle, and fresh air). You will love the room and the shower water comes from the waterfall, high vibration. I was surprised on how beautifully crafted each meal was as it was made with the freshest ingredients from the farmer's market. Fateh is an amazing host, yoga teacher, and woman who infuses her creative spirit in everything she does. Truly impressed. Franco who grew up in the area, knows all the fruits, species and places to check out. To sum up my experience, I left inspired, rejuvenated with more sustained clarity. Highly recommended if you want an authentic and memorable stay."

The owners were really nice and made extra effort to book and coordinate for me all the different tours and activities I wanted to do. I really liked the style of the rooms and I was pleasantly surprise that for a tropical country there were not a lot of bugs in general."

"The daily meditation and yoga classes with Fateh were really great and I actually enjoyed that there was no TV or internet. I gave myself the opportunity to fully relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. I will definitely be back!"

"My friend and I stayed for 8 nights with the full meal package. It is beautiful: luxurious yet simple and Eco-friendly, with meals that are exquisite yet healthy and balanced; the grounds are lightly landscaped but also wild, the service provides lots of personal attention but also lots of space, and the location is easy distance to so many places of beauty that it is an ideal base from which to go exploring on day-tours.I had had an intense four months previous, and I needed a place to be taken care of and recharge. This was perfect, as I could just relax and not make decisions for a week. They made all the reservations for tours we wanted to do, they arranged the transportation to get there and back, and all our meals were prepared for whatever time we needed, leaving lots of time for lounging by the falls or on the terrace, talking or reading. While it is obviously a place couples would adore, friends or singles can enjoy retreating from the world here too. This is not for people who are looking for a 'hotspot', as there will only ever be around 12 guests and some nights you may have the place to yourself, depending on the flow of other guests' plans. For us that was absolutely perfect, and we appreciated the staff and owners making us feel well taken care of."

"Waterfall Villas is a beautiful resort nestled in the rainforest. The rooms were elegant, yet fit with the ambiance of the natural surroundings. The food was outstanding with every meal fresh and creatively prepared. They went to great lengths to meet our specific dietary needs. Gourmet vegan meals were served in a gorgeous covered outdoor area where you were eating while listening to the waterfall. It couldnt had been nicer. In addition, we were close to activities that kept us as busy as we wanted to be. We always looked forward to spending time at the lodge where we could truly relax reading a book next to the waterfall, or with a massage or yoga class. It was a great vacation. We enjoyed every minute, whether we were discovering the country, swimming in the ocean that was as warm as a bathtub only a few minutes away, or hiking through the breadth taking rain forest."

"We hired a driver from Zuma Tours to take us to Dominical. We were a bit apprehensive as he turned up into the mountains rather than towards the beach, but it became evident that the villas would be an amazing place to stay. It has a Balinese style that we loved. Our room was wonderful, spacious, and had a peaceful balcony overlooking the river and jungle. The setting was beautiful, vegetarian food was excellent and tailored to your needs, the yoga classes were spiritual and will never be forgotten. We could easily get into town using a taxi. We highly recommend this as a perfect place to stay."

"My wife and I are can be rather impulsive. We decided to book Waterfall Villas for our honeymoon solely based on the description of its website. Believe me when I tell you, it did not disappoint. When we arrived in Costa Rica the night after our wedding we were saddened that our bags had been lost by our airline. Neither of us have been to Costa Rica or speak Spanish particularly well so we were quite nervous. After a 3 hour ride across the country we finally arrived at the gorgeous villa and were greeted by the wonderful manager, Donald. Both of us were nervous and tired from almost 17 hours of traveling without baggage. Donald quickly informed us that "loosing bags happens all the time and now its time to relax". We were given an absolutely delicious watermelon juice with a tofu entre that blew away the main course at our wedding the night before. The next day we met the lovely Fateh who had heard about our baggage situation and immediately asked for our flight number so that she could call the airline and take care of it for us. Needless to say, within 48 hours our bags were outside of our room doors. She had taken care of everything for us. I cannot express the deep gratitude I have for this act of kindness. Both Donald and Fateh had given us the absolute best customer service experience I have ever had. As for the resort, its beautiful. The waterfalls and stream are something out of a dream. The rooms are heavenly and the food is to die for. I've never tried going vegan for a week but it surely was some of the best and most healthy food I've ever had. Just a note, if you are the type of a person who lives for heavy, animal-based meals you might want to go somewhere else, but I think you should just be a champ and go vegan.Dominical is nearby and if you don't rent a car the staff will call a taxi for you that costs about 20 US dollars round trip. Javier, our taxi driver, was a very honest and friendly man. He also was very focused on ensuring a safe and comfortable stay for me and my wife. As for the town, its a surfers paradise. Rough seas though, be careful. Just some words of caution: There is no TV or internet connectivity at the resort. Obviously, it is geared for the yoga crowd so this shouldn't come as a surprise but just be prepared if are the type of person who can't live without facebook or google. Also, make sure you speak a decent amount of Spanish. Overall, I'd say this is an absolute ideal location for a quiet, relaxing getaway with a significant other. We shall never forget the time that we spent here and would gladly come again."

"I loved staying at the Waterfall Villas. I was there 10 days to eat vegan, raw and juice for a few days to detox. My room was lovely with a hot tub outside and view of the beautiful native landscape. The rooms sit right next to the waterfall so you can fall asleep to the sound of the water cascading down the falls. The waterfall massage and yoga each morning with the backdrop of the falls were two highlights on property. The best highlight on the property was the food. Truly a treat to have gourmet raw and vegan in such a lovely place. I also loved planting a tree, kayaking in the mangroves and swimming in the warm ocean water. Our hosts know the perfect beaches and tours to take in the area. I even went to her local hair salon for a hair cut and nails and it seriously was one of the best experiences in a salon I've ever had! for sure I'll be returning again!"

"We loved our room, shower, balcony, outdoor jacuzzi, the gorgeous waterfalls and stream on the property, and all of the wonderful jungle sounds. The vegan dinners were incredible, and among the fanciest and most delicious meals I've ever had. The fresh fruit drinks were wonderful, and the pancake breakfasts too. Franco was a very gracious host. He set us up with a great guide at Manuel Antonio National Park and a great tour to Corcovado. We saw lots of monkeys happily swinging (and sitting) in the trees, and many other animals including sloths, macaws, coatis, bats, snakes, frogs, and beautiful birds. We had an amazing vacation and my only regret is that we were only at Waterfall Villas for 3 nights and Costa Rica for 5. I can hardly wait to return! Thank you Fateh and Franco!"

"Fateh is totally professional and in tune with her students! I can tell you that I felt as if I was a sole student in a full class of six men and women. We all worked and advanced at our own rate with subtle challenges directed by her guides and spirits who kept us all in tune and working together... It was a wonderful experience. I also had the pleasure to be under her tutelage for three weeks twice a day as a private student and both experiences were exactly the same. I am humbled by her enthusiasm and dedication.", edited

"No matter the reason, you won't be disappointed staying at the Waterfall Villas. I am a single mom of two children. My 12 year old daughter has an incurable, degenerative disease and I am her full time caregiver. As you can imagine times can be tough emotionally and physically. I was at a point in my life where i needed to relax, rejuvenate, revive, and restore. I am forever grateful that i found all the above at the Waterfall Villas."

"Before I even booked my stay at the Villas, I spoke with Fateh the owner over the phone. I explained my need for a little respite. Fateh took me under her wing and immediately helped with all the arrangements! I barely had to think, which was a good thing considering my state of mind! "

"My healing began before I even left the States! Thanks to Fateh, everything went smoothly from the booking process to the airport transportation to the Villas with my private wonderful driver! Upon arrival to the villas, I instantly knew I made the right decision! "

"The grounds were impeccable and beautifully decorated in a peaceful Balinese style. Perfect for the tranquility I needed. The entire villa is built with the Balinese style in mind along with being eco friendly. It is nestled in the lush rainforest right next to the most relaxing cascade and river that will calm any soul. I was welcomed by Fateh and instantly felt at home. "

"My room was breathtaking! Again very tastefully designed and decorated in the Balinese-style. I had a balcony overlooking the water and junglet. This was perfect spot to take in the peaceful sounds of nature. I even had a private meditation garden outside my room!! The food! Oh wow, the food! I have never felt healthier! Going in to this, I was not a vegan, but after eating all organic, local, and sugar-free, my diet lifestyle has changed forever! The food was pure goodness prepared with love, passion and beautiful presentations!"

"During my week stay, I choose the Diva's detox package. This included two therapeutic massages with pure essential oils. One lava rock detox massage which was done with clay and a coffee exfoliation, and a chocolate body mask. This detox massage is a Mayan ritual which lasted a glorious 2 hours! All my delicious meals were included along with three one hour Kundalini yoga classes taught by Fateh. This spiritual practice of Kundalini yoga was done right next to the Cascades! What a way to start your day!! These yoga classes also change my life. I now practice this special type of yoga daily now! With this package, I truly felt like a GODDESS!"

"Faith and Franco can also organize other healing practices, activities and workshops for you outside of the Villa. One of those is with Shamanic practitioner Sabina, she offers a Soul Retrieval and Spirit Animal workshop. Along with seeing Sabina, I went to see the Reiki, spiritual healer, Oliver Hurler. Both healing processes were amazing! I also went horseback riding, zip lining and even jumped off a waterfall! (With the help of a guide of course! I have never felt so liberated! Any activity, including just relaxing at the beach, will be organized for you. Just say the word and Franco will set up the times, drivers, etc! Easy!"

"I can not say enough positive things about the Waterfall Villas! You will not be disappointed, I promise! My only regret was not taking a before and after photo of my self! What a life changing experience I had! One that I will never forget! And one that I will carry with me forever! Thank you Fateh, Franco, and to all at the Waterfall Villas, you provided relaxation, rejuvenation, restoration, respite, and rebirth of my soul! I am forever grateful!"

"The facilitators of this establishment are by far the best group of people you will have the chance to meet. I continually return to this spiritual place to clear heart and mind and body. A true wellness retreat. Yes they have pampering as well (ex. massage, activities and such..) But the clearing of the body with vegan meals, teachings, and meditation by Fateh, and exercise through yoga truly complete what is wellness. This is a must have place."

"We traveled to Waterfall Villas from the bright beach bustle of Manuel Antonio. Just standing on the property was an invitation to take a deep breath. We were warmly greeted by Franco, who led us to our sumptuous Balinese-inspired room, cradled in the jungle and overlooking a stream. Before exploring we sat on our balcony and listened to the soothing sound of the waterfall. Owners Fateh and Franco have experienced Bali as a healing, spiritual place and they wanted to model their six-room inn on the imagery of that area. Our package of three nights included breakfast and the first night's meal.We chose one cooked and one raw meal and both were delicious. All the foods are organic, local, and sugar-free. We loved the raw ravioli with pesto sauce and the cooked vegan paella, rich with cauliflower and artichokes. And our berry tart was a fantastic finish to the meal. The portions were plentiful and the desserts were spectacular. Both Franco and Fateh understand how to make people feel honored and at home. The service was elegant and personal, and the other guests were interesting. At first, it was odd to be without Internet, but we quickly got used to it.The waterfalls themselves were a series of gentle cascades and we spent time watching and listening to them. Franco helped us orchestrate a trip to Corcovado National Park and was informative and attentive without every being intrusive. We loved our stay and highly recommend this to those who want a respite with creative and healthy food. Special Note: Another couple there celebrated their wedding anniversary. Franco and his team set up an elegant lunch for them by the waterfall, complete with champagne, white tablecloth and impeccable service. "

"My husband planned the honeymoon and I had no clue where we were going until the wedding reception. Then I did not know anything about where in Costa Rica we were staying. It was the perfect honeymoon!"

"We arrived a little later than expected but as soon as we arrived we were greeted with smiles and a gentleman took our luggage to our room for us. We had a reservation for supper that night so we freshened up and walked to the open air dinning area where we had a romantic, candle light private dinner with amazing vegan and plant-based food! Yum! The waterfall is right next to the dinning area, but amazingly there are no mosquitoes! "

"The room was great (we got the butterfly suite), better than any hotel room! Very clean and comfortable. There is no internet or TV so keep that in mind as you book. This was not a problem for us because we wanted to enjoy each other and Costa Rica not TV. "

"The only draw backs were that the hot tube did not work. The jets were broken. They looked into it right away but were not able to get it fixed while we were there but in return for the inconvenience they gave us a free ride to the airport which is usually a pretty heavy price since it is two hours or so away. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially after we had our rental car broken into on one of the local beaches. "

"A recommendation: do not take your computer to the beach even if you are parked where you can see the car and even if you plan to go to an internet cafe after the beach. It is not worth it! We had a bunch of stuff taken because of stupidity on our part. We thought it was safe since we could see the car. We lost half our honeymoon pictures this way. But we did not let it ruin the trip. One last thing. We got the meal plan of breakfast and dinner which was great for me, not cooking! We are vegan and it is often hard to find good food. They have amazing food but the portions are small for what we are use to eating. They don't give seconds either. But they also were very accommodating. We keep the Sabbath and did not want the cooking staff to have to wait on us on Sabbath and we requested to have some food made up the day before to have the next morning for breakfast. They were great and cut up several kinds of delicious kinds of tropical fruit for Sabbath breakfast. There is an awesome restaurant in Dominical that has vegan options that are delicious though and hearty helpings for a decent price. Even the store their had things like soy milk and almond butter so their is a health conscientiousness in the area, which was nice. It was an amazing trip! Cascadas Farallas was a great pic! My husband could not have done any better!"
