Eat, sleep, surf, and do yoga is the mantra at Casa del Sol and they invite you to come be part of it! Use this holiday to deepen your yoga practice and explore the challenges of surfing. At the end of your holiday, return home strong and energized, ready to take on whatever life throws at you.
At Casa del Sol, you will find an organic mix of indoor and outdoor space designed with a perfect balance of quartz stone and bamboo. Encompassed by an infinite supply of good energy and sunshine, you may never want to leave. From simple rooms to deluxe, Casa del Sol Montanita has price points to suit all budgets. There are 12 rooms spread out over three floors, offering private bathrooms with hot water, shared balconies, and fast and reliable internet (they know that is important to you). One free bag of laundry per week and unlimited coffee, tea, and drinking water are also included.
Every day, you will start with a delicious, freshly made breakfast. You will be able to choose between six yoga classes, so you get to curate your days just the way you want. When the tides are right, you will explore the ocean with two surf classes.
During these seven days, you will get an opportunity to deepen and renew your yoga practice. Reconnect with your current self through daily Vinyasa flow classes, take care of your future self with Yin classes, and re-explore your playful self with an arm balance and inversion workshop. Be nourished daily with freshly made delicious food. Vegetarian plates explode with taste but are light enough to keep you moving (or relaxing on the beach).
Above all, you will focus on various aspects of the practice of yoga, not just the asanas. In between the morning and evening classes, we will explore surfing with local instructors who are experts when it comes to the ocean. Natural swimming pools can be found in the nearby jungle. Lay back and grab a massage to help out those tired muscles relax. The rest is up to you. Whether it is catching up on your suntan, maximizing hammock time, or chilling with the locals to brush up on those Spanish skills, you decide what you need every day.
For you to return home or back to your travels, strong and energized, ready to take on whatever life throws at you.
Tamara Allers is a E-RYT 500 & a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. She began her journey with yoga in 2009 certifying as a teacher in India. In 2011, in search of a simpler life, she moved to the coast of Ecuador and embarked on the journey of Yoga Montanita. The foundation of her practice is rooted in Astanga, however after years of experience as a teacher and student, her teaching style has broadened to a more fluid dynamic Vinyasa flow. Moving deeper in the practice of yoga, she uses the 8 Limbs to create wonderfully challenging, energizing and powerful classes for both the body and mind!
Jackson began practicing yoga in 2012. As a youngster, he was an adrenaline junkie and extreme sports enthusiast, but after two and a half decades of abuse, his stiff and damaged body was ready for some healing. Originally he preferred to practice Astanga yoga but he eventually became more attracted to yin yoga. In 2017 he completed his 200-hour certification and in 2019 a 50-hour yin yoga course with Bernie Clark. He currently resides in Montanita where he is happy to share his love of yoga with fellow yogis and yoginis at Casa del Sol.
I am originally from Cuenca, in the South of the Andes in Ecuador where I started to practice Yoga, 20 years ago. I have spent the last 11 years living on the coast where I did my Yoga teacher training. Since then I have been teaching Yoga. I moved to the coast because I was being called by the beauty of the ocean, the waves. So, I became a surfer 11 years ago, and since then I have been improving my surfing, especially longboard.
I was born in Montanita and started surfing at the age of 9. I have a strong connection with the ocean. The ocean is my home. I have been the Ecuadorian longboard champion for over 10 years and still competing.
Located two and a half hours southwest of Guayaquil, Montanita has become a must-stop on the Ecuadorian coast. This small town has become famous for its beach, surf, and laid-back atmosphere. With a diverse population of people from all over the world, varied nightlife, and delicious food, there is something for everyone. The hotel and studio are located just a 10-minute walk north along the beach to an area lovingly called "La Punta". This little community of hotels and restaurants spends its time surfing, chilling, yoga"ing", and of course maximizing hammock time.
