Satsang is a gathering time, with the projection and revision of images in a group environment. It starts with a time for discussion and inquiry, questions, and answers, based on the direct experience of all participants. It finishes with a silent meditation.
Every day, from the end of the evening until after breakfast the following morning, a joyful silence will be cultivated in the house. This deep silence is very healing for calming the mind, and allows you to be in peace, so that you can listen deeply to yourself.
You will have a restful sleep and the next day enjoy the silence with mental clarity for your asana practice, meditation, and the nourishing experience of a silent mindful meal, at least once a day. Each person participating in this period of joyful silence will be supporting each other in the practice.
Photography is an everyday activity that becomes an extension of your senses, in connection to the world around you. You take photographs every day in order to share the things that capture your attention, the things that provoke memories or represent your vision of the world, and you take photos of the things that catch your eye, even when you don’t know why, but you want to be able to look at them again and again.
Photography has a particular way of enabling you to enter into a very special relationship with the here and now. It provides you with the opportunity to experience the emotional and aesthetic elements that connect you as individuals with your surroundings.
The intention of this retreat is to offer you the space where you can experience this connection by capturing and reviewing photographic images in your active photography workshops, in combination with the practice of yoga and meditation.
An exciting meditative trekking excursion in the mountains, lasting for two days, is included in the price.
Katya found in yoga a way of life, a system for self-exploration, providing her with constant support on her path. When she arrived in Vio, she rediscovered her love and devotion for nature, as well as a path on which she can continuously learn and be in tune with herself and nature. In 2009, she got her teachers’ training certificate from the International Sivananda Vedanta Organization. Later, after having spent three years working in yoga centers and ashrams from the same organization in Buenos Aires, Toronto, and Quebec, she took an advanced teacher training course in India (500 RYT).
