The bungalows in the villa are set up in much the same way - a bedroom with two full size beds, a full bathroom with hot shower, a living area with a day bed for a third person, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a dining area. Four bungalows are in one building, two on the second floor, and two on the bottom floor. The upstairs bungalows open up into balconies overlooking magnificent views of lush tropical gardens, the “Laguna del Tule” and the quiet grounds of Villa Xochipilli. The two bottom bungalows open directly into the exotic garden gardens, bringing you one step closer to nature.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, a counter top stove, and is fully equipped with plates and pans. All the water is chlorinated with separate special bottled drinking water. The sitting area and the dining room connect to the balcony. There is a hand wash laundry area available with local laundry service also available. There is hot water, cable TV, ceiling fans in every room and one bungalow with air conditioning, which is not normally needed because of the villa's location next to the lagoon where there is almost a constant fresh breeze. Towels and bed sheets are changed once a week.

Daily sessions include detailed instruction and practice in various styles of Hatha yoga, such as Ashtanga, Sivananda, flow, and Yin. Morning and evening meditation, chanting, pranayama, along with group review and discussion will shed light on the written assignments in philosophy. Students design a series of six yoga lesson plans. This is a very detailed assignment covering benefits, precautions, and modifications for asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques. Students practice and develop their teaching skills throughout the entire program. Upon completion, there is a written exam and practical exam. Graduates are eligible for registration with Yoga Alliance as RYT 200.

"I had never attended a yoga retreat before and had no idea what to expect (gong bath?? really, what was I getting myself into??). The week in Sayulita with Carla and the rest of the group turned out to be a great balance of yoga practice and fun in the sun. Lots of laughs! I am so glad I took a leap of faith and attended this retreat. It was exactly what my body and soul needed."

"I think yoga is the ultimate answer to everything. You are cultivating that in the world. It is not just a yoga teacher that you are, it is way more than that. The workshops, the retreats, the studio, the teachers you have created, the pay it forward affect. It is all you Carla, you are putting huge tools of self-awareness and self-care into the world. Thanks again Carla, you are a gem in this life, a true light guiding us all to our best version of ourselves and for that I am very very grateful!"

"This experience was my first yoga retreat and I was worried that I would possibly get bored of the yoga, or worse, not be able to keep up. Both of these worries were completely unfounded and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! The yoga was really wonderful, and the off time was a lot of fun as well. I would absolutely do another yoga retreat with Carla - all the details were taken care of, it was easy to relax and just enjoy."
